That looked simple, fast, and delicious. I hope to try it soon.

Dear Pascuale, I taught my sons to make this pasta since it's really good with canned clams, and they make it for every new girl friend!

Except for a couple of ingredients this is pretty much the same recipe that's on the can of Cento clams. Another observation, Cento clams are harvested in Indonesia and contains chemicals and preservatives. A better choice would be Bar Harbor canned clams which are harvested in Maine, USA and contain no chemicals or preservatives except for salt. Snow's canned clams are also harvested in the US but contains sodium tripoliphosphate and calcium disodium edta but if you don't mind the chemical pollutants Snow's is the cheaper of the two.

I'm from Rhode Island. I live in Tennessee now. I can't imagine making this dish with canned clams. How far off is the taste? Or how close? It looks great. I'm suspicious though.

It’s a matter of how bad do you want it!

I’ve been eating /making it this way since my mother would make when I was a child. I’m in the Midwest and have never cooked it with fresh clams. I’ve had it in restaurants with fresh and can’t say I like one over the other.

Many, many years ago I used Snow's canned clams. I stopped after I became critically aware of the use of chemical additives to the clams and processed food in general. To address your question in my experience I found they were overly sweet as Snow's at the time was adding sugar to their product and no matter how you cooked them they were chewy and rubbery. If you can get it Bar Harbor canned clams are all natural but even so after processing they are rubbery as opposed to fresh cherry stones or quahogs. I live in Southern Maine and all the supermarkets have shell fish in their coolers so I'm a bit spoiled.

@johnbrandolini2915 thanks definitely not using them. I can get little necks at Publix that are fresh. They just cost an Arm and a leg

When fresh clams are not an option

Unfortunately, some people live in areas that fresh clams are not readily available, or if they are, they can be overly expensive.
