@@askiavance3281 It isn't that simple. Ignorant of modern cultural perspectives? Sure. Transphobic? Not at all. Save that for those who ban transgender people from military service. Ru is almost 60 years old and has been a pillar of the LGBT community since it was just called "LGB" or the "gay community". A good portion of the people he started with are dead. Many of the terms we use today have been around for decades, but had different meanings which result in differing attitudes. You all watch Paris is Burning or The Queen (1968) and feel so culturally "informed", but most of those queens had views that would make RuPaul's so-called "transphobia" seem progressive. Instead of shaming people for their modern ignorance, learn your *history* and try to educate them moving forward. Simple.

uh you guys realize he's lip syncing to his own song right? I mean it is his voice but for a live performance like this, it'd be impossible to do it totally live over the track, and the sound of the audience, hell just look at when they do the chorus, he'll say the one part but you'll hear the other part that he's supposed to be singing but his mouth isn't moving. It's not Millie Vanille or anything, more like Ashlee Simpson on Saturday Night live.

@gingerp6631 4 жыл бұрын
Rodnarok : Yeah, it was. Glad I lived during a time when it was mandatory for singers to actually have talent. Only a few around these days. Music went downhill sometime after the 2000’s. I grew up listening to the music of the ‘60’s and gained appreciation for music from earlier decades through my parents. I collected music until it became some mixture of fakery, stunts, sampling, and manufactured for the quick hit. With the exception of a handful, today’s singers don’t really sing...they have enhanced auto tunes, they do not play instruments, charisma is lacking, and all of their marketing must be fabricated. This...to distract from the obvious lack of true artistry. Many, not all, must have feuds, behave badly in public, leak a sex tape, or gain notoriety through some sort of unseemly behavior. Odd, decades ago, celebrities attempted to keep their dirty laundry secret. Not any longer. Having little or no talent is a badge of honor these days. Just look at how many no talent celebrities are millionaires. Kinda says something about the fans IMO. Sorry for the rant, I just miss real music. I miss creativity and innovation, people who could sing live, real talent....

RuPaul opened doors and moved the reality of the gay club kids to the mainstream....He is truly a pioneer. Little Richard was the first and set the tone, Sylvester came along, but no one, and I mean no one has really transcended and moved the consciousness of the world as it pertains to gay men, drag queen and the lot of us like Sir RuPaul...I just cannot say enough about him, his seemingly generous and genuine love and energy is palpable...His sheer force of nature is a gift from GOD. There was absolutely nothing like being in a gay club back in the day when the DJ spun this song. I'm straight but had (and have) several gay friends, Back when this song came out I was working in an office where out of say a dozen guys I was the only straight dude. I loved those guys like brothers--they ALWAYS asked me to party with them! They got a kick out of me because I totally accepted them (In the early 90's that was still kind of a novelty--straight men didn't hang with gay dudes too often). Anyhow, one night we went to the late great Club Hippo in Baltimore (THE gay club in that city at the time) and when the DJ played this it was a sight to see!! EVERYBODY hitting the dance floor going crazy!! One of the most fun nights I've ever had in my life and I still have fond memories of it to this day!!
