Props to Prince BUT this Prince-less song as well as the Pandemonium album (which he only contributed 4 songs for) shows they can make great music and be successful without much input from him, if any. As they've said, he wasn't going to let that happen though and that's why he stunted their live exposure or wouldn't allow them to use The Time name on their own. This is why The Original 7even name was used.

Right, it modulated one bar ! You must be a musician , as not many people would have caught that . It could have been a mistake they made & just kept. There's a song on the album " What Time Is it" where the end section starts doing something really off & disconnected. I forget what song at the moment, but you can't miss it, very odd.
