I appreciate that he called it a VCR instead of a "VHS player." That's a big pet peeve of mine when I hear people say that, especially young people who weren't even alive in the 20th century. Kidlets, we didn't say "VHS" or "VHS player" back then, we said video tape and VCR.

I wish people would talk about this more. My ex loved moving garbage people in on us. 2 couples, with kids under 5. They were both horrific. I've seldom seen living with family end well. Unstable relationship and romantic entanglements outside the marriage equals lots of problems that can swiftly escalate to very serious legalities. Not every marriage where there is an affair gets crazy but introduce unstable personalities and you are setting the table for bad things happening that you never want in your life.

I don’t think anyone participating in an affair could be described as “stable”. That is an inherently disordered and unstable thing to do
@commonsense2680
@commonsense2680 Жыл бұрын
Well it clearly was not a "romantic" entanglement since that wife never loved her husband. She probably thought he was easy to manipulate and maybe thought he could earn enough money to satisfy her needs. God knows why they had kids. I don't understand why any redneck or impoverished person in poverty level has kids. The majority of them do not even want children, then cannot afford them and resent the kids then take out their anger on the kids. I just don't get it. I made a very hard decision when I was young in my profession to avoid having kids because my husband at the time was a mess and I had my own baggage that I never wanted to expose to my children (as my parents did to me and my brother). At this older age, I do miss the fact that I have no children, I always loved kids, but I think by the time I was able to deal with my demons I was too old to have kids so I believe I made the right sacrifice but still miss kids. I absolutely don't believe women (girls) who claim they don't know how to deal with the consequences of pregnancy in this day and age and in this generation of Internet etc. As young as 12 or 13 years old school girls are discussing sex and pregnancy. Firstly, they probably have their own mothers as role models on how to have babies at a young age and scam money from the government. Also, they all know about birth control, condoms, and abstinence but choose to ignore it. They know if they have sex they will likely get pregnancy especially without birth control, and have to be prepared for abortion (especially in the 1st trimester), giving birth then adoption, just plain leaving their new born at one of those shelter hospitals (terrible), giving birth and raising their child with government assistance or their family's assistance, getting married to or getting assistance from the birth father, talk to guidance counselor, etc. etc. In America, unlike some 3rd world countries, there are so many options, most importantly don't have sex and don't get pregnant. Why does our society treat pregnant girls like victims (I mean unless they are victims of rape etc.) when they clearly know what they are doing. If a girl gets pregnant and is totally unaware of how one gets pregnant (which I cannot believe) it is her parent's responsibility. I had the potential of being a young pregnant girl 40 years ago, and I knew exactly what to expect (even without telling my parents) and always managed to deal with any issues. Have people just gotten stupid?
@lostandfound5145
@lostandfound5145 Жыл бұрын
@@commonsense2680 if you’re dysfunctional then you’re not thinking with any logic. Those young women aren’t as smart and grounded and empathetic and responsible as you were. I rushed into marriage and had children before I realized my whole family was dysfunctional. I adore my children but I was not ready or capable of doing a good job when I began to have them. I rose to the occasion but it’s been an exhausting, painful process and I learned so quickly how insane it is that out culture does not take child rearing more seriously. It’s hard! I will tell you, though, I’ve never gotten free money for being a mom. And being a parent is insanely expensive. It has absolutely not been a way to survive without working a job! I’ve never had that luxury. The “living off the government” thing is only very inner city non-white people. There isn’t enough money to go around for anyone else. I’ve hit a dead end every time I’ve tried to get financial help. There’s nothing for it but really hard work and education. Nobody is having children for pay

One of Lisa's biggest mistakes aside from her infidelity and marrying Daniel, was telling Daniel what her plan was. She should have kept her plans to herself. I've noticed that talking too much tends to get a lot of people killed.
@dissidentfairy4264
@dissidentfairy4264 Жыл бұрын
I agree that Lisa was bored and attention seeking, but I don't think the guy she traded Daniel in for looked any better. Her relationship with Daniel was a sad mix of Daniel being inexperienced and naively hoping for a faithful wife. At the same time he was dealing with her infidelity and as a double whammy she was cheating on him with his best friend. So the thought of her taking his children away was no doubt more than he could bear, the last straw, and I feel for him on that, but murder? As far as Lisa goes, who knows what her story was? Was she inexperienced like Daniel and thought maybe the grass was greener? Did she jump into a marriage too young? Did she marry the wrong guy just because they happened to work together? Was her mother-in-law a nightmare to deal with? Was Daniel a miserable husband? Who knows what led Lisa to her choices in life, but one thing is for certain, she didn't deserve to die.

For the connection between son and mother, who's to say what that was about. Very creepy. Thank you for your in-depth analysis and spot on verdict.❤ You know, at the end of the day, there's never a discussion as to the outcome of the offspring. I agree. As a woman and mom I can't say too much for a father about to have his children ripped away but I can as someone who was a child in a similar situation. My mother was a retched woman. She constantly cheated on my dad, she never took care of my brother and I, she was an alcoholic & addict. She'd go partying for days at a time leaving my dad in a state of worry. When he finally had enough she went into court with tears in her eyes and the courts granted her full custody and let he take us from TX to WV. We were supposed to get every other holiday and summers but she never let it happen. She'd just refuse to go to TX for court when my dad fought it. My mom had a string of awful men, a few molested me. One put me in the ICU at 9 yrs old. I had a bad infection from rectal tearing. I even confessed to the doctor and law enforcement what happened. My dad came to WV to save me. The damn courts STILL sided with that witch. She told them I did to myself with a jumbo crayon for attention. As soon as I turned 16 I begged the courts to let me go live with my dad. I was refused because 'yiu need to be with your mom. Girls need their moms'. No, I needed a loving parent, not a drug addicted $lut that pimped her child out for $$$. Even today the courts still rule in favor of these awful types.

We recently got into fostering a few years ago and that has really helped me get through so much. If all goes well this Spring we'll be adopting two amazing kids that have been with us the past year. Maybe I just don't have as much time to think of it. Lol. Either way, I'm doing quite well. I just wish we have come farther in fathers getting more fair treatment in these custody situations. I

This crime is told with more details on a crime show on Hulu about crimes that took place in the nineties. It's interesting how the way a story is told can really influence how much compassion people have for the victims. This crime is a reminder to pay a lot of attention to men who have enmeshed relationships with their parents. She married into a dysfunctional family and seemed to get isolated by it. Families like Jason's tend to thrive on control and lose it when they no longer have control. From the TV show it seems her parents have kept her memory alive for her kids.

As I recall, VCRs didn't stay in PAUSE indefinitely. They'd start moving again after a minute or two. The problem is, of course, that the rotating video head would stay in the same place when paused, with eventual wear to the tape.

I remember this from way back. The in-laws especially the mother in-law was acting strange towards Lisa from the first time they moved on the property. There is a lot more to this story that was happening. Lisa husband's friend her so called "boy friend" was around to witness what was happening and also the husband confided in him. The mother in-law wanted the two kids -she was obsessed with them and had immense hate towards Lisa. Also the way she treated Lisa and continuously watched her was creepy. Eventually Lisa was in extreme fear for her two kids and herself and had a difficult time living on the parents property. The mother in-law would go inside their house whenever she wanted and didn't knock, etc. She would also take photos and use binoculars constantly as well as carry around a notebook to write down the time and note of what Lisa was doing. Lisa was in extreme fear for her life and her husband's friend offered to get her and the two kids away. He even knew things were not right. I believe that Lisa's mother in-law thought they were lovers and she constantly told her son that they were together and doing lewd things. Lisa did not have any family or friends to go to for help. They had made a well thought out orchestrated plan to get her and the kids out and away from the home. Unfortunately Lisa was correct that she was in danger apparently she didn't realize things were much worse than she could have imagined. Lisa needed to get her kids and leave a lot sooner than she did. That's a bit difficult if not impossible especially with two kids if you don't have any resources and/or assistance from family and friends. There may (I'm not entirely sure) have been a lifetime movie made about this heartbreaking case many years ago.

The police should have performed gunshot residue tests. That might have resolved some questions unless the shooter wore gloves. I doubt that it was a "spur-of-the-moment thing. The grandmother's clothes could have been checked for Lisa's blood. I doubt that a corpse with a head wound could be rearranged without having any blood contact.

How ridiculous that a first-degree murder conviction could be overturned because the police took an incriminating journal when the search warrant was for a gun. That makes ZERO SENSE. The murderers had entered into plea agreements (Why was this done) It seems like a light sentence for taking someone’s life?
