I started dancing at age 54 to add more movement to my life and find a life-long way of staying fit (without going to a gym). It’s added so much more: mental calmness, physical energy, mindfulness, true connection with other people, balance, flexibility, core strength, and on and on. Alexey, this video was perfect timing because I was frustrated with slow progress on Latin motion. It’s hard! I will take your advice and keep working, of course while having fun! Thank you for your Yoitube channel!

I started dancing because I wanted to have something my husband and I could do together. He didn’t like it but I really loved what Ballroom was doing for my body, mind, and spirit. I am so glad I continued ballroom dancing with an amazing instructor who encourages me to keep pressing on through the agony and ecstasy of this journey. I have learned so much about connection to myself, my body, another human being, the Earth beneath my feet, the space around me, and the Cosmos above me. I love the “ah ha” moments , the breakthroughs and being in the flow; but also accepting the failures, plateaus, and disappointments. I love learning and learning about how to learn! Thank you Alexey 🎯🎯🎯🎵

Hi there! Actually, it was my dream to dance since my childhood, but I didn't manage to find time for this. I thought, I had not enough time for studying, so how could I also spend time for dancing. Fortunately, I have changed my point of view when I was 22. I was able to study, work and dance! For half a year I was dance Latin American dances (cha cha cha, rumba, samba etc.) and I was so energized as never before :) But then I moved to Germany, I had to get used to my new life. When I was ready to start looking for a dance school, the Corona time began. Luckily, once I came across this KZbin Chanel Ballroom with Alexy and I started to dance alone at home. I have already learned Cha cha and Rumba! As Tonny Robins said, °°°Motion creates emotion°°° Exactly, dancing makes us feel alive, motivated, and inspired. Many thanks Alexa for your work!!!

20 years ago I took dance classes and did that for nearly 5 years. Retrospectively this was the best time of my life, I guess. Last year I saw JoJo Siwa dancing with her female partner Jenna on DWTS and I immediately was on fire. It all came back to my mind, all the fun and the satisfiying emotions dancing generates. So, the illusion - or call it magic - JoJo and Jenna created on the dance floor is currently my strongest motivation. I'm >50 years old now and it will be hard to find an appropriate female dance partner but I'm willing to do. And I'm sure your videos will help me remember steps and routines, getting in contact with my body again and show me a lot of new things. I hope you will be back soon with new videos. Till then stay save and happy dancing. Greetings from Germany

Context: I have my debut in one week and a half in a competition in Japan (yeah, I like hard challenges: me, Spanish man living in Japan and having Japanese partner and instructors) and last weeks I was feeling exactly like he described in the video… the more I push harder the more “bad feelings” came to my mind. I think this video appears in the best moment to redirect my energies. Will focus on the “Why do I dance!” Again, thanks a lot!

Hi Megan, this is very common for us to get stiff when we dancing. You need to bring a bit more awareness to the parts of your body that tight and consciously let go of tension without losing the integrity. It is a process so don’t expect to fix it right away but rather make a commitment to consistently work on bringing more awareness to your whole body. 🙌🏻😊
