I love when you show the ingots cooling in the molds, reminds me of when I used to pour wax bars. I would watch 1oz and 16oz bars cool. The cool thing is that they cool in the same way, from sides to center.

17 kg and change, turned out 4kg and change. Still pretty good in my book. . . since you took the time to purify it pretty well. I loved the look on Ingot's face when you pet the ice ingot until it melted. 😅 Also, supervisor Ingie getting caught not supervising and trying to play it off. Interesting concept, but you could also argue that Texans are really just Americanized Aussies. Remember that Australia is the appropriate size of the Continental US with a population of about 10 % of the USA, so if everything is bigger in Texas what does that say about Australia? I told eWaste Ben about this, so I'll tell you too. If you are feeling ambitious or crafty you can look in to a process called plastic pyrolosis. It's possible to break the plastic back down into usable fuel *without* releasing a bunch of toxic fumes and stuff. If you are making your own furnaces you could certainly make your own plastic pyrolosis machine and then you could use that plastic to take a bit out of your fuel bill.

Of course, I don’t know the future purpose of these ingots, but we also have metal melted in the garage, but they give the shape of a cylinder of different lengths and different diameters. Local workshops are willing to buy for turning. Pure aluminum has air cavities. The addition of zinc to the alloy eliminates this defect. The price difference is significant - scrap metal from shapeless pieces or a metal bar for a lathe.
