I've only ever used Muc Off products on my speedmaster. Same age as yours and 15000 miles under her belt. She looks as good as brand new even though she gets ridden whatever the weather. It takes some commitment and patience, but it's well worth it. Hope you get your cases sorted.

Thanks great to hear you have put some good miles on it 👍Also love to hear that you are not afraid to ride it in any weather, I am just the same. Can't let the weather spoil the fun!! Yup it is great stuff Muc Off, I have used it in the past alot. I ACF-50 the bike now and I am told that muc off can reduce the ACF-50 just a little bit. So stick to just water and soap for now. Thanks I may have to get them powder coated. Good to hear tht your bike still looks brand new 👍Stay safe and enjoy your riding

I have used a Scotchbrite pad to restore the brushed look to brushed stainless steel before, but if your engine cases have a clearcoat finish, this might not be a good idea as the Scotchbrite will eventually remove the clearcoat. What’s happened to your engine cases is strange: it looks just like water staining rather than something more permanent. Do you know what it is? Good old Solvol Autosol is a great mildly abrasive substance for cleaning all sorts of metal, including chrome, so if that staining won’t shift through other means, give it a go. Back to the Scotchbrite: if you do decide to use it, use it in one direction only across the case you’re trying to restore. In other words, don’t randomly scrub with it, or go in circles, as the result will be shite.

Thanks Malc I will look in to this 👍. That is what I thought as well, strange water like stains. I am not too sure what product to try as it is brushed aluminium, which I am told is very sensitive!! Thanks for the tip though, will definitely look into that product 👍

Sorry that this happened, such a beauty! I hope you will get it fixed! I’m happy to have the blacked out T120, less sensitive to corrosion 😊
@redangrevival2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, yup it was annoying!! They are sooo sensitive the brushed aluminium. Ah well adds character 🥴!! Yup I assume the blacked out specification is easier to maintain 👍

I know there is an extremely fine emery cloth that jewellers use that would bring that finish back up again! Another interesting video... you have great taste in music Angus my man! Stride and Ride!

👌 thanks, I do like a good tune!! Oh nice I will give that cloth a Google, that would be brilliant. Cheers and have a good Sunday

I Know!! Soo annoying, what a stupid mistake!! Muc Off is great. But if you can get ACF-50 onto your bike that is amazing stuff, I highly recommend it 👍 Link in the videos description to it if it helps 👍. Same to you as always. CHOW BELLA

We’ve got the same effect on the aluminium roof bars on the car. God know what they spray on it
@redangrevival3 жыл бұрын
O no! Yea it must be some horrible stuff, I think the soap is quite heavily acid based! Not good for sensitive metals. Never again!!
@bigdavedogdad3 жыл бұрын
Oh dear! I thought I noticed in others vids the metal was suffering. I use Muc Off stuff. One or two other bits as recommended by Stuart Fillingham. Check out his channel if you want to know the low down on all the suitable products for all the bits of your bike. There could even be info there on recovering your aluminium... In fact, I think there is... As for ACF-50, I know some like it, but I've been told it's more for protecting the underside of cars and less 'sophisticated' areas like that that don't show rather than the complicated bits of a motorcycle... Though it may protect from corrosion, it can also attract dust and grit? I'm no expert though... Again I would defer to Mr Fillingham.

Yes it is really annoying, my mistake though! The metal really did not like that soap they use!! I have seen his channel before actually, very good 👍. I will take another look and see what he thinks on the matter. Ok I have never heard that about ACF but I suppose it could. I haven’t had any problems so far. Hope your bike is going well and you are enjoying it thoroughly

Sorry to see your pride and joy been damaged in that way It looks like they have used a road traffic film remover, you need to be very careful when using and it is diluted properly and thoroughly rinsed off. The Bonnie engine casings are lacquered the RTFR used has not been rinsed off properly and it has attacked the lacquered parts as time goes on it gets worse !!

No hand car washes or garage washes are safe. If you love your bike there’s no safer or better place to wash you bike or car than to wash it yourself. Lesson learned! Oh and no fairy liquid!
@redangrevival3 жыл бұрын
Completely agreed!! My mistake I knew I shouldn’t have done it, never again. Yup I know That just slipped out 🥴. I shouldn’t have said fairy liquid
@martynhoward5403 жыл бұрын
Fairy liquid is fine it's been tested many times including by Fortnine just keep it away from the chain and any bearings as it's a degreaser

Wow! Using chemical cleaners on vehicles? Simply lazy! I nearly destroyed my radiator once using a power washer. It was so strong it bent many of the cooling veins. I Now use special detailing soap in a separate hand pump sprayer. Spray on, let it soak (in the shade) and rinse off with gently running water. I also recommend Muc Off 94.
@redangrevival10 ай бұрын
Yup, I was on the road so took the chance! Bad idea. I now use ACF-50 for protection and just regular soap to wash
@MTBrider263 жыл бұрын
I swear by Muc Off products for all my bikes. Top quality stuff at reasonable prices. You should never use dish washing liquids etc because they can be very alkaline and contain salts, both of which are bad for metal surfaces.
@redangrevival3 жыл бұрын
Yup I really like Muc Off products, they have everything covered 👍. Fair enough point, I haven’t had a problem with it yet but I will definitely bear in mind which soap I am using. Obviously the car wash soap was NOT good haha 🥴

@coulterman0073 жыл бұрын
Commendable to show ignorance and teach others but to then go on and recommend car drivers to use these places! The chemicals they use are NOT for any vehicle. Not to mention letting some eejit near ur bike with a power washer!
@redangrevival3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Andy!! I'm certainly not recommending you take your ferrari or even just your pride any joy, whatever vehicle it may be. However for convenience, I have used these place many times for my car over the years and have had not problems. I have actually been very impressed with the price and what they do. £10 for a full clean inside and out, that sits well with me 😃. Surely if they were that bad no ne would go to them!! Just my thoughts though. Sorry for the long reply
