My 1st car was a 56 VW Bug that my dad bought new in Germany, so I’ve always had a nostalgia for VWs. But honestly, VW-Audi cars have long since been known for a less than stellar reputation for reliability and quality; falling into the same company of Chrysler-Fiat, Land Rover and Volvo. However, I always appreciate your enthusiasm and reviews and look forward to all your quality work.

The new Tiguan definitely is a hit on the looks; however, some great detail of the past Tiguans is missing. The felt lined door pockets of the German counterparts is missing and the recline rear seats with track moving feature is gone. These kind of features made the Tiguan a standout from the competition and will be sorely missed. In addition I would hope that VW has plans for true R model with more performance and driving engagement. A true R model would also give VW a standout option against the competition in this class and an alternative for consumers that want a premium compact SUV without going to an Audi, BMW, Mercedes or the likes there of. Overall it’s solid start particularly if it has the solid driving dynamics of its German counterparts.
