So, "I've got a crazy idea." NHL has fighting that comes with a penalty for partaking in willful combat. How about at the end of a race, if two racers are having a squabble, there is an option to engage in a battle. I was thinking a typical amateur wrestling match. On a mat, in a circle (or for fun, have the circle be the track map of the current race) and let them go. Pin em or push em outside the circle and it's over. -Drivers can/should keep helmets on -No submissions -No strikes They'll already be exhausted, so it shouldn't last long. No idea what the penalty could be. Maybe a point deduction. Or have a scoring +/- system for fight winners/losers and just have them start at the back for the next race. Imagine a playoff elimination race where two drivers are tied at the cut-off. Both have identical top finishes. They could wrestle for the final point. 😎

@WombatCombat7205 жыл бұрын
Why do drivers have to stop if they missed the chicane? Why can't we just hand out time penalties like every other race series or have stewards that make a call. It is incredibly dangerous to stop on an active race track anywhere, yet they are required to. For example Newman locking up and "missing" the chicane at 15:45 should not have been given any kind of penalty, because he lost the position. EDIT: What I am trying to say is that if it is clear a driver did not gain an advantage through cutting the chicane or any other track limit there should be no penalty. Newman barely even cut the chicane and lost his position anyway so I see no reason to force him to stop or serve a DTP.
@despacitosuarez5 жыл бұрын
Because, cut the chicane for any reason and you get a penalty. Almost every sport does this. And you stop in areas outside the track
@JJA19875 жыл бұрын
They do the same at the Glen and Sonoma if you miss a turn
@Blueflag045 жыл бұрын
Why don't they tell driver to give a position away or they will have DTP?
@Ewane5 жыл бұрын
WombatCombat720 it is a way to enforce track limits. They are a long way off the track, and several other series (eg IMSA with the Bus Stop at Daytona) can't take this approach. Time penalties are difficult to enforce with track limits, and also stewards do make the call of which cars need to stop.
@WombatCombat7205 жыл бұрын
@@despacitosuarez Yes I am aware they need a penalty, but they slap it on even when it isn't needed like in the example I gave. He lost the position, and barely cut the chicane, why does he need to stop or get a drive through.
