Congratulations on another successful addition! Have you thought about a drop down Shelf on the V. Section for food prep for Linda? Since her kitchen is in the back of the car? Oh the wattage on my electric water kettle is 1500w. But it will heat to boiling in 3 minutes.. We were talking about options to use it off grid.. To boil water for coffee in a no flames allowed area. Thanks.. Gail See you around! 😁
@gonagain3 жыл бұрын
Dang it Gail, you're making work for me! That doe's sound like a good idea though about that shelf. Yeah, 1500 watts is a lot and would be too much for the Jackery or Bluetti that I mentioned. I might have to borrow your idea... 😬 We have used the same water pump for the last three years. We usually travel six to eight weeks at a time and we've yet to have to recharge ours while on a trip! The last week you can tell it slows down a bit but if you fill your water container full, there's not much lift for the pump to overcome and away we go. I know it's no trouble to recharge, but it's a satisfaction thing 😁
@gonagain3 жыл бұрын
We're out on the road right now and have been using that pump everyday, several times a day. Love it.

I thought of you today. I was watching video from Afghanistan and noticed military vehicles with Taliban, rifles and on the back of some, Jerry Cans. What made me think of you was not the carnage on all the streets but the vehicles Jerry Cans that had what looked to be quilted insulated fabric covers to stop direct sunlight on the liquid inside. ....... When I saw your cans on the outside, in direct sunlight, my first thought was the heat. What you did was create hot water heaters. That would be a reason for me to keep water inside, lower temps and lower pressures in the cans. ...... Anyway! Just another comment for the "so what" column. LOL!

Odd that I have a very similar setup, and the same holders. I have thicker plywood on the inside. I thought of running two aluminum 1/4 " minimum straps or flat bar on the outside and inside between the studs or frame (whatever it is called) I can find mine because the outside skin is screwed on Then bolt the jerry can holder to those straps or plates. The plates will be at least 2 or 3 inches wide. I am hoping this will support the weight when bumping around. Gas weighs , with the jerry can, 60 lbs so that is a lot of weight. If it was static there would be no problem. I am still concerned about doing this but don't have a lot of options. I could do the same on the back doors but then that puts a lot of weight on the rear of the trailer, plus is hard on the barn door hinges.Those straps that come with the carrier only seem to work on the Wavian Jerry cans
