If I recall, the scene where Julie Andrews sings was actually the first time she sang since her voice surgery in 1997. Not a dry eye from cast and crew during that scene. 😭😭

@@MoviesinDepth confirmed this is true. She had a “routine” surgery that ended up permanently ruining her ability to sing. It was a devastating loss for her and she was never able to sing like she used to. The fact that she finally sang (even just these few low notes) was hugely emotional for everyone involved. Absolutely not a dry eye.

Gary Marshall loved reusing the same actors in all his movies, which is why you recognized that guy from Valentine's Day lol. He also loved allowing his own family to play characters. Like the female assistant who always caught the queen with joe (his daughter), or the body guard who held the baby down the aisle (his son).

They did a whole thing about that on one of the other commentary channels, I think it might've been The Pink Popcast if I remember correctly but like the whole time they were watching these movies (cuz they had already seen them before and didn't need to pay as close attention) they were basically writing an entire prequel series about Joe as a young agent. It had Paulo in it and everything! 🤣😍

This movie is such a delight, and one of my go-tos when I need some serious fluff. :D This was my (and the rest of the world's) introduction to Chris Pine, so no matter what else I've seen him in, he will always be Nicholas Devereaux to me, weird haircut and all. And yes, that was a very unexpected Stan Lee cameo and it cracks me up every time. :D

I did want to let you know that funfact: the ex boyfriend actor really was touring with his band at the time so they just used it for the storyline here lol also: the string cheese was a reference to the first movie when mia broke the statue's finger and put it in the mouth; she reasoned at the time maybe it was supposed to be cheese. what this made me realize though is that for the most part its amaing how many side actors were kept for this second movie!

Funny story: When Wonder Woman came out, my sister and I went to see it, and afterwards decided we hadn't had enough Chris Pine for one day, so when we got home we pulled this movie out to ooh and aah over him some more. We agreed his haircut in this one had not aged well. :P

This film is so iconic as one of the sequels that was needed and I loved. Julie Andrews singing with Raven Symone was beast, the parade scene is so heart melting, and not only does Mia get her crown and her man, but Queen Clarice finally gets her king. Also 2 of my favorite lines in the movie;“A queen is never late, everyone else is simply early” and “Aye! You’re not in parliament sit down! Someday. “ 👸🏻✌🏻💍🎉👏🏻
