I read that the bromide stays in your pool and converts all your chlorine into bromine until it evaporates out which can take forever. I put this in my pool and I can not get a free chlorine reading to stay. I have dumped so much shock in. It registers and then 2 hours later there is nothing. I had very small amounts of yellow algae staining and I wanted to be done with it. The yellow treat I used had great reviews. It said that it reduces shocking and also won't stain. I feel massivley confused by what I am reading regarding the yellow treat and I don't understand how my scenario is different than other. Yellow treat has right over 900 reviews on amazon and 4.5 stars and only 1 review shows the dangers of converting your pool to a bromine pool and that review was hard to find. How long if ever does it take to go back to chlorine? I watch a lot of your videoa and highly respect what you have taught me I am hoping you know more about this and can help set me straight.

It could be other factors keeping the chlorine from holding. Iron in the water for example. Or high phosphates. I would try brining the chlorine level to 30 ppm and try to break whatever is keeping the pool from holding chlorine. You can also try adding a PoolRx to the pump basket.

@@SPL thank you so much! I called yellow treat and did excatly what you said. I had to add a ton of chlorine but I got my chlorine levels back! I do have high phosphates. I will be taking care of that next. Thank you so much you have helped me so much with my pool! I did pool rx last year. This year I bought an ionizer and copper test strips but I really like the pool rx more. Now that my yellow algae is gone it is going to be so much easier to manage. Thanks again!

Thanks for your videos. For treating Yellow Mustard Algae in a pool - - what product do you prefer - - Yellow Out or Yellow Treat if the CYA level is close to 100? The two products use different active ingredients to treat Mustard Algae and I know that you have videos for each product so I'd like to know if you prefer one over the other. Thanks again.

Thank you for all your videos! I had a question regarding these products. I have some yellow algae that is pretty persistent. The yellow algae is spread in different parts of the pool. Should I treat the whole pool? When broadcasting whichever treatment you recommend, should I only distribute it along the edge of the pool or throw it in the middle as well? How many gallons of chlorine would you recommend me using when treating the pool? Would you recommend one of these products or a copper based product? If you recommend one of these products, which one would you recommend? I live in California and I have a 33,000-gallon plaster pool. Again, thank you! - I found this stuff that got great reviews called "Doheny's Super Algaecide Plus". It contains 7% Chelated Copper. Will this damage or stain my pool? - I also have this type of yellow stain on the walls of my pool (looks like yellow algae but its not) and was wondering what you would recommend to take that off? Would "Stain free" by Natural Chemistry work for that?

Clorox is half the strength of pool store chlorine. Just use twice as much. From the Stop Yellow container.

I have tried one of the yellow out product from leslie pool and that has worked for about 2 weeks and now the mustard algae is back ! I would like to keep my pool sparkling clean but have a lot of difficulties. A year ago I have changed out 100% and new pump and zeolite media for my new SF in a 16000g pool. Water tests show no issues. my water has a little haze to it as well. Shocking, flocking, brushing doesn't seem to help long term too. not sure what is the problem.

+ElenaDiakova How long are you running the pool pump? At at what level is the chlorine reading?

+Swimming Pool Tips, Reviews & How To -MrDgvb1 8 hour per day on some days longer. the chlorine reads high around 3ppm and i even then I shock the pool weekly. I had DE filter for many years before didn't need to change water for many years and that work better than what have now which is Hayward sand filter with zeolite type media and 1hp superpump and my water is not as crystal clear.
@SPL8 жыл бұрын
+ElenaDiakova It's the sand filter. They work pretty poorly. Usually there is no need for other pool products but in your case you will probably benefit from some of these products: www.amazon.com/Natural-Chemistry-Pool-Perfect-Phos-Free/dp/B000NSGNOG?ie=UTF8&creativeASIN=B000NSGNOG&linkCode=w00&linkId=KIC57UTQ5AQVMV6V&ref_=as_sl_pc_tf_til&tag=swimmingpooll-20 www.amazon.com/Mor-Problems-Swimming-Pool-Algaecide/dp/B002WKK9MA?ie=UTF8&creativeASIN=B002WKK9MA&linkCode=w00&linkId=WTGHKFYQ7PYHKR6Z&ref_=as_sl_pc_tf_til&tag=swimmingpooll-20

Is it safe to add Sodium Bromide to a salt water pool. I have read a lot on the Internet that once a Bromine pool always a Bromine pool. I would appreciate your thoughts on this matter as I am worried that the only way to get a good amount of chlorine in my pool from my iChlor30 is to drain the pool completely. Thoughts please?
@SPL5 жыл бұрын
It's safe. Once the sun burns off the bromine the pool returns to a chlorine pool.

My pool supply store didn't have yellow trine, but they told me to purchase the silver trine and it would work to same. Is that true?
@SPL10 жыл бұрын
You will have similar results. It uses elemental silver to kill the algae. I've got a video on the sister product of this - Swimtrine which uses copper to kill the algae. Should find it effective: Swimtrine Plus Algaecide (Copper based): kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2OwmKNqi6-kr6M. Just dilute it in a bucket of water first.
