For what it's worth, you're missed Gundog. I don't know you other than these vids but your authentic passion and joy for these rations really shines through in all your vids! I would love to see you do a sort of "Ration Revisit" series where you go back with current versions of some of your favorite past rations and compare what's changed, what's gotten better/worse, etc and then conclude on whether it's still a fav. When/if you decide to return, this viewer will be there. Thanks for all the fun!

Try this my man Proper cheese on toast with Worcestershire sauce, then when you are cooking your beans add more cheese, chili, beef stock, chilli hot sauce {encona} and a chili ferment {Sri racha} which gives depth, touch of anchovy sauce like 2 drops, or gentleman's relish if u can't find that use very sparingly, touch of onion and garlic powder, then when that's done pour onto the cheese on toast, soft boiled egg {6 mins boil from fridge} It's just perfection.

I was worried at first that the pack did not contain a 'Brew Kit' (the accessory bag), but it did. If they started removing Brew Kits from ration packs, they'd probably have a mutiny on their hands. 4:30 The alcohol-free wet wipes are probably for Muslim soldiers who cannot ingest alcohol. I don't think it extends to iso-propyl alcohol, but you never know. If the wipes are based on ethanol- as Listerine is- then the "ingestion" of alcohol by absorption through the skin is definitely not permitted- haram. Can any Muslims watching this video confirm this? The Brits love their cola-flavoured drink mix and lollies/candies. If you'd heated the pasta dish, you could have heated the cheese as well and put it into the pasta. The biryani is really sloppy. NOT for putting cheese on top of! Great review, gundog. 2019 was the last time they had the flavoured hot chocolate drink, now they are just basic hot chocolate. The thing they need to get rid of are those horrific sesame bars, you can't eat them without soaking them in your tea/coffee etc. which generally ruins your drink. I've never had the date and strawberry bar. I totally agree with you about those Bridgeford things, they are just not good. Oh our peanut butter is alot more runny than the US peanut butter, more oil in it I guess, so it's still good :) Great review :)

Agreed, those sesame bars have a somewhat limited shelf life before they turn to resin and stick to each other as an unbreakable solid mass, not ideal for an MRE kit at all. Pity, as they taste really good before they turn to stone.

Hi Gundog! Great review. I don't mind the cinnamon bun, to much. Not has good as the French Filled Toast, though. Leah went to England and it was a lot of unusual items for breakfast. But I can eat beans for breakfast, if that's all I had. British tropical punch mixes better than the US brand. I like to add something for crunch. But no hot sauce for me. I would add the cheese. I have had the pleasure of eating American & English, they are somewat different but I cant say American breakfast is 'unusual' because I am in a different country a lot of things will be different, It's just a cultural thing not unusual. Eggs, bacon, sausage is on both eng/usa breakfast plates, so not really unusual, we have baked beans or tomatoes or both, Usa doesnt have any. Usa has biscuits. Some Eng brekkies have black pudding which I find disgusting lol Nothing unusual just some items different to your norm. We have pancakes here for breakfast but your biscuits we call scones & they are as a dessert/treat not in a savoury dish. I find it highly amusing you find it 'unusual' when theres quite a few items that Usa/Eng share on a breakfast plate lol

Welcome back, dude.. it's been too long. Anyway, ration stuff.. what the hell were they thinking? 🤨Cheese....oat... 🤢🤮 that peanut butter looked like a runny shit. I'd guess they went with an alcohol-free wipe, either because alcohol is flammable, and the UK is utterly crippled by silly health and safety regs.. or because it wouldn't be ideal to use anything alcohol-based on your face, near your lips and eyes ::shrug:: Maybe i'm weird, but i kinda like the bridgeford bread thingies.. That date bar looks like a bowel movement that would prompt a visit to an ER. Typhoo tea is best tea. 😁 That oatmeal block seems like it might work real good, if you dropped it into your canteen cup, with a bit of hot water.. mmmmmm...oatmeal... lot of weird components.. like wtf would you realistically use the cheese with, other than those gross-sounding oat biscuits? but then, they're already cheese-flavor..

The big problem with the cinnamon bun is that it doesn't taste like cinnamon, just like styrofoam and cardboard. If they actually added enough cinnamon and sugar to make it sweet and not as dry and tasteless as powder flour straight from the bag, then it would be food grade.

The cinnamon bun was made in America, shipped to the UK, rejected by us, sent to Canada and then landed back in the US. That poor little cinnamon bun was unloved everywhere it went. 😂 The cheesy oat biscuits are pretty foul, we get them sold in regular supermarkets over here. Just tastes like sawdust and a weird artificial cheese overtone.
