Mum decides everything I eat for a day! This was really fun, Mum knows me the best so knows my fear foods and what I find more challenging, which was even better! Also Mum has the best relationship with food ever, and I will have that one day. Mum, you are the greatest!

I hate how much people have the tendency to focus on the physical changes of a person during recovery and refuse to recognise any progress unless it’s a physical measurement. And whilst physical health and wellness is vital for us all, it’s also important we recognise mental progress too. And my god Elzani your attitude not just to food but to life is blossoming so beautifully every upload is moving. I’m beyond proud of every progress you have made and are continuing to make. You are incredible Elzani big love from me ❤️

I love watching how you're coming on with your recovery and it's excellent. Really try to thicken the spreads up. Really slap it on. You shouldn't even see a crumb through it 😂😂 it has be like an inch thick on my toast 🤤🤤 sooooo good. Also you should try Cadbury fingers dipped in nutella, wooooow it's out of this world lol. Also, next time you're in m&s get the gluten free millionaire shortbread, you'll absolutely love them, they're with all the gluten free cupboard things not fridge. Xx

Scone, cream, jam! Slather the jam into the cream!!! If you fancy something when your mum is choosing what you eat, have that too!!! Please do a day of eating double of what your mum eats, or the same as your dad again, OH or the 5000 calories - those are just my favourite videos

Your mum is the absolute cutest! You can see the relationship you two have together and it's really heartwarming, my mum is also my best friend and biggest supporter (yay!). I just also wanted to say compared to your really old videos and now, you know the improvement you've made over the years because of the way you talk about food! You seem much more relaxed around food, it's made my day! :)

Elzani just some advice. I suffered from bulimia for 5 years. Got to some really low places physically and of course mentally. Seeing a therapist and taking medication for a short period of time helped me so much. That isn’t for everyone, obviously, but therapy or seeing a professional WILL help. They know what they’re doing. I never believed it either but along with seeing a professional you already have great support and are doing “DIVINE”. Saying that because I want the best for you. Good luck ❤️

when you were eating the scone I couldn't help but feel emotional for you because it takes so much strength to eat a "fear food" I just avoid new food as much as possible and stick with things I've tried. but your face lit up when you ate it like you wished you had done it months/years ago Well done! because now you've got years and years to enjoy it. Youre also closer to being strong enough to just not think about the new taste/texture of food you'll just think about how good it will be. You're doing amazing and much better than I would of done I might not of even tired it im glad you did and now have another thing added to your safe foods. Much love

You are doing so well, but I think you still did talk a lot too much before eating the scone. It may be helpful for you to try to delay lots of talking until after eating or at least while eating. I know it can be a way to calm anxiety but it also seems to add to the time a lot before eating. When I was nervous I would just take 5 deep breaths and say “food is food” “food is delicious” “I need this food” and I try not to delay the eating 👍

Hey Elzani! I found your channel a few months ago and now i’m back here again! I post recovery videos too and you inspired me to challenge my fear foods a few months ago so thankyou! You are inspiring so many people to challenge new foods. But I hope you are getting professional help, I know recovery can take a LONGGGG time.. but maybe you could try challenge talking about how your feeling with the thoughts? That could help you identify what you could challenge yourself with next. I think maybe you could challenge food not being perfect, that it doesn’t need to be presented in a perfect way for it to be eaten or “ worth it” It might take a while to come out of energy deficit but the quickest way is to allow your body to know there is no food scarcity and that it gets what your mentally hungry for and feeding that extreme hunger until your body comes out of the scarcity mindset and it knows food is available. But however you decide to challenge those hard and horrible thoughts in your brain is up to you! You are strong enough Elzani!! Rewire rewire rewire opposite actions!!! It only works by DOING!

I get a sense this precious soul wants to be a tot again and not grown up. Which is a normal healthy dream I hope because I often wish I could be a tot again, snuggled up in a nest-(snuggly pallet) made by my nurturing grandmother, and fed her yummy fried-chicken, diced fried potatoes w/ onions, cornbread, and a pot of her yummy butter-beans. Growing up is for the birds.

Jonathan Montoya - Lewis I was anorexic too and, honestly, sugarcoating played in the hands of my illness quite a bit. It is indeed upsetting, but triggering? I‘d never comment on her body or her appearance though. Being told that you don’t eat enough, that it seems you are avoiding things or that you’d rather apply a thicker layer of butter on your toast is part of the game I think. In her comments there are plenty of remarks like that. Even as inpatient you are told constantly what „normal people“ eat, what „normal“ portion sizes are etc. I hope I wasn‘t rude or body shaming so I still wonder why my comment was so shocking to you!
@jonathanl1604
@jonathanl1604 4 жыл бұрын
lina lin I understand, and some people have different triggers. For example, not everyone is restrained or tubed during their illness, i happened to be one of the small percentage, that is my main trigger. some others are triggered by certain foods or numbers. every illness is different.

Trying different foods is an amazing first step. Trying to eat more without exploring new foods first can be extremely difficult. I think her progress is amazing right now and she’s discovering foods she likes bc she never got to before due to restrictions. And while I don’t know her whole story since I’m a new viewer, I would assume the new foods she’s trying IS more food than what she used to eat

Hey I know I might be sounding a bit nit picky, but I am seriously concerned about your bone density, you should go to the adult eating disorders team and tell them everything and get a DEXA scan, you are getting to the age where you will not be able to increase in bone density unless you get hormone therapy. It is SO important Elzani to get therapy along with refeeding, Anorexia Nervosa is a deep rooted mental illness, it is not just about weight restoration-although you really do need your observations taken regularly to make sure your body is fixing itself. ALSO therapy does NOT have to be just sitting around talking about your issues, I think the Maudsley method would work for you, but it does not always work that way, I have dance movement therapy with a lady who used to be Stephanie from Lazytown Live.

You look so much happier. You’re eyes shine bright and you have such a quirky personality which I think anorexia stole from you for many many years. I actually watched your latest video before this one and hearing you laugh and smile is priceless. Your whole family seems much happier. You have come such a long way from crying over a biscuit. You really should be so proud of yourself. Give yourself a hug pat on the back wee yin. When I think of a recovery warrior you are who always springs to mind. I suffer from gastroparesis (thanks to Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and a host of other illnesses) but having gastroparesis means I can’t eat food and haven’t for such a long time. I’m fed my tube bypassing my tummy into my small intestine and have a another tube that constantly drains my tummy as even my own bile makes me sick and poorly. I did suffer from anorexia and other ED behaviours for over 10 years. I was in and out of ED units private and public. Even when I wanted to eat and tried hard no one could understand why my body would protest and reject it. I was sent for a GES (gastric emptying scan) which showed that my stomach doesn’t empty like a normal persons. As well as been diagnosed with Intestinal Failure & bladder failure (I had a operation in 2016 to create a Ileostomy (she’s called Stella the stoma lol so TMI I poop in a bag and have a long term catheter. I went onto TPN via a Hickman Line that went straight into my heart for about six months to get me to a healthier weight as by the point I was diagnosed with Gastroparesis I was days from death. Whilst on TPN we trialled feeds by NJ (Naso-Jejunal) bypassing my tummy with a elemental feed (which just means it’s all broken down and easier to digest unlike the standard feeds you see like osmolite, nutrison multi fibre etc). I do miss food, but I’m physically nutritionally more stable than I was then. So every time you take a bite of food think of people like me who unfortunately can’t have food anymore. I have loved watching your relationship with food change, I know anorexia will always be there in the back of your head but girl you are smashing it and I see such big amazing things in your future! You’d be great in a young patient unit helping young kids with eating disorders get excited about food again. You would be such a great support worker! Love to all your famalam, they are absolutely ‘deeeeeevvvviiiiiiiine’ 😉 Also you really should do some merch with your slogan..... Maybe on the front ‘Real Recovery Warrior’ and on the back “It’s deeeeeviiiiiine” Love from someone who has followed you from your first video (where you had me in tears at your distress) to now where I laugh with you when you let your silliness shine out. Gilly (IG @ gillys_journey83) If you’re ever in Scotland/Glasgow give me a shout I’d love to meet up.
