The DDE crew or any Murci owner will be losing their minds watching these videos #envious. I have the Gruppe M carbon intake on my S15, whilst not having the impact of your velocity stacks, it does look good looks good. Loving the channel, am a musician originally from Aberdeen and appreciate the great sounds musical and now from the LP1 headers back to the ear holes. them 3 d printed sleves will crack or with the vibration of the engine get shook apart 3d printed stuff dont hold up well over time
@UnexplainedHoveringSpheroid3 жыл бұрын
That is an innacurate generalisation. There are many different types of filament polymer. PLA and ABS are not the strongest (but still more than adequate for this job), but nylon 910 and polycarbonate are impressively strong and have a good heat tolerance too. Also, the sleeves appear to be a tight fit (hence the need to notch a cutout into them to make them fit the throttle bodies) and are held by a grub screw, so they shouldn't be overly affected by vibration.
@driftworks3 жыл бұрын
As above, that's not accurate. There have been cases of 3d printed intakes failing. I have had full length 3d printed stacks in my E30 M3 S65 airbox for two years with no issues. Also these are sleeves. There's no part of the intake side that is 3d printed. The carbon touches the ITB. These just hold it together. Obviously I'm not guaranteeing that they'll hold, but I'm happy to find out.
@scottybhoy83753 жыл бұрын

@@vinayaksethu5160 different materials and structures resonate at different frequencies. If you run rubber stacks on an itb car it muffles the intake noise compared to one running aluminium. Titanium exhaust has a different pitch to a stainless steel exhaust of the same design and length.
