"Humble" is usually a code word used by white males to describe Black males who don't behave or speak militantly; who don't speak confidently (what white males call "arrogance") about their above-average gifts; who don't. Yep, whites just "love" Black males who are "Humble".
@MarkusInTheMixNow
@MarkusInTheMixNow 5 жыл бұрын
Jack, first, all I am about to say next I based on my assumption that you are being sarcastic. Anyway, if you're a white guy, then of course you don't like me because i'm Black. You can't live outside culture, one of your kind's most famous anthropologist wrote back in the day. If America is a white supremacist culture, from it's beginning to today, then from birth to death, this reality is instilled in you, whether you like it or not, or are aware of it or not. That's how cultures/societies PERPETUATE themselves, by passing on its dominant virtues to each up and coming generation, virtues that made the society/culture successful. I ain't mad at you because you feel that way towards me. By being sarcastic, you simply conceal what you really feel towards me (as you already expressed) in order to point out that that YOU feel I am being ridiculous and irrational. So, I ain't mad. I'm realistic. I accept that white folks are who they are because your society/culture needs you to be that way, as such feeling were there from the beginning when the Constitution's authors could look out their back porches and see all the Black people they enslaved to do all the yard work, lol. You can't help who you are. I've accepted it. You should too. Later.

I know that's true because I used to read that magazine all the time. He and Lee Labrada had that pictures on the canisters with his first place medal around his neck. Labrada was the one who criticized Haney and said he should have been given last place in a contest he lost because Haney was only big and just had a big back. And that he had the better body over all and that Haney was mismatched in symmetry. His legs were too small and he was overly too big up top. I remember that. Amazing how people say one thing and then get caught in a contradicting lie. Labrada was right though back in 1990. Haney's back was way too big. It looked too big for his body to carry.

My advice - if that matters - is don't listen to and try to follow recent or current open champions about their training regiment or diet. Not because they are wrong or don't know nothing but because - as an amateur - it is not for you by any means. There's so little connection left between amateur bodybuilding or fitness and open-class IFBB pros. Listen to the olds. Listen to Haney, listen to the 70s, 80s guys. Yes, without talent, strict training/diet and PEDs you'll never be able to develop a physique like Lee's or even anything like Arnold's. But their methods and approach were much similar to what you may call natural. They did put in most of the work while today Roelly Winklaar (who I really admire!) looked like a water buffalo 2 weeks out of the Arnold Classic but with the help of diuretics he still was in a decent shape in March. This would have never happened to Haney. So if you'd like to follow the training schedule, exercises or diet of a pro BB athlete, and you are an amatuer, I strongly suggest following some of the 70s, 80s greats. And who wouldn't want to look like at least half as good as Haney, Labrada, Bannout, Makkawy or Zane?!

I used to study Lee Haney because I always felt his physique was attainable. I also really enjoyed watching Ronnie Coleman train but the weights he put up were just incredible! Unfortunately he's now paying a heavy price for moving all that weight.

2003 I bought Lee’s training video on VHS for like 5 bucks he says that a few times in there. Another one was “My daddy told me to be a Lawyer or a Doctor and here I am like a crazy man in the gym pullin’ weight!” Then he ripped a heavy set of dumbbell rows. I’m sure his dad was proud of him lol what a great guy

I lost interest in body building after his reign . The mass monsters took over . Not that he was particularly overly massive , big but not ridiculous . Small guys like Shawn Ray or even Smaller like Lee Labrada just got hosed . I did not want to destroy my body while building it . Now ? 300 lbs off season body builders with no symmetry are winning . Palomboism , insulin , HGH , and of course Steroids ( I know that goes back to Olivas time ) ... who wants to be Rich Piana now ?

Absolutely. Coleman wasn't smart about it in regards to his body and did whatever it took and now he's paying the steep price for the same number of Mr. O wins as Haney, who's healthfully enjoying retirement. It's true that Coleman was in a different era but he still could've been much more careful and probably still won close to or as many Mr. O's.

@@grahampick1954 As I recall, after tying Arnold's record, Lee asked his wife if he should go for number 8 (to break the record) and she replied "Of COURSE!". The plan was to win his 8th and then retire--not because he feared Yates, whom he was only slightly aware of at the time--but because after winning his 8th Olympia he felt he would have accomplished everything he wanted to accomplish in bodybuilding.
