Just to clarify - Immerse Is NOT like Flares last product, Calmer. It is not, nor intended to be used as hearing protection. Immerse is designed to *improve* sound by removing the HRFT effects in the ear. Yes, it will quieten the sound slightly, but that's because the sound has to travel through the device in the first place. Looking back at the script, it could have worded it better, so putting this comment to clear things up. I've had a few comments now saying it's hearing protection and that is not the case. Please don't comment stating that, especially replying to others' comments if you don't know the intention of the product. That's just spreading false information. *EDIT* - Comments are now set to be reviewed before posting because some people posted very vile comments about my appearance which is not okay and is something I will not tolerate. Comments relating to the video and product will be accepted like all other videos, on the basis they are sensible and respectful to others.

I just got mine and I'm not sold. To me it kind of sounds like the actual sound pressure increases, but fidelity dissapears and quality nosedives. It sounds like all of the different frequencies are normalised and forced into the same layer, if that makes sense. Sound is naturally hard to describe. At this time, I'd 100% not recommend.

This is what replied to someone else but might apply here. All of our ears are different, so maybe they just don't work for your ears. One person left a comment about a positive experience, but unfortunately like with most products people with positive experiences generally don't leave reviews if the product does as intended, unlike people with negative experiences, so it's hard to gauge how it's working for buyers.

@ I get your point. Though the product's angle is that it removes the variability of individual ears, right? I also take into account that the products are prototypes. But, having spent hours now trying to simply trying every combination of position, tip, etc, I still am unable to get the feeling like the compression of all the sound into a smaller space results in distortion. My experience is like if you over-amp tweeters in a typical tweeter, woofer and sub-woofer setup, you will feel as though there is too much pressure in the high range and your ears are just overwhelmed. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

So, I’ve been getting _a lot_ of flare immerse ads in my instagram and I feel compelled to ask this question: if our ears distort sound naturally (for whichever evolutionary reasons) doesn’t that mean that’s the way that audio is supposed to sound, and that any recording, assuming it is played at the proper volume and has been eq’ed properly, if it sounds distorted, that means it was just put to tape poorly?
@jordanash23 күн бұрын
I would say it's just EQ'ed to the best potential of our ears without assistance, then something like this just allows the detail to be brought out.
@flare-audio18 күн бұрын
You’re absolutely right that our ears naturally shape sound in a way that’s been part of our evolution. This natural shaping, however, isn’t always ideal for experiencing recorded audio. When sound is recorded, it’s captured with the intention of being as accurate and true to life as possible. The process assumes that playback equipment and environments will reproduce sound as faithfully as possible. What our ears do naturally is introduce a layer of distortion caused by their unique shapes. This distortion can mask fine details in audio, particularly in the mid-to-high frequency range. Immerse aims to address this by smoothing out those distortions at the ear level, allowing you to hear more of what was originally recorded without interference from your own anatomy. To your point about poor recordings: if a recording itself is distorted, no playback system or device can fix that entirely. Immerse isn’t about "correcting" bad recordings-it’s about ensuring that the sound reaching your brain is as clear and detailed as possible, free from the physical distortions caused by your outer ear. We understand that audio perception is highly personal, and some listeners may prefer the "natural" sound of their ears. Immerse simply offers a different perspective-one that’s focused on revealing the details that might otherwise go unnoticed. If you have any other questions, please do reach out to our team by email (info@flareaudio.com) or the website flareaudio.com.

@andrewraymond3657 Evolution can only tinker with the pre-existing state of the body, it can't scrap a poorly-functioning body part and erect a new one in it's place. That's why the laryngeal nerve, for example, is so spectacularly inefficiently designed.

Immerse® is available in two versions, both designed to reduce natural ear distortions using Flare’s patented Mirror Image Sound™ technology. Immerse Headphone: Worn under headphones to enhance clarity and detail, making it ideal for private listening, studio work, or enjoying your favourite tracks. Immerse Stereo: Designed for open environments, improving sound immersion at live events, cinemas, and similar settings. Immerse improves sound quality and detail but is not a substitute for proper hearing protection. For loud environments like gigs or festivals, we strongly recommend using dedicated ear protection, such as our Earshade ear protectors, to safeguard your hearing.

before to buy, I want to know the diference between the Immerse headphone and the earHD 360?
@AlgabatzАй бұрын
Got my two sets today, but I must say that the main difference is that they cut a lot of treble and I got a feeling of putting a sheet over my speakers and headphones. Maybe it's a learning curve, but right now I'm pretty disappointed.

What headphones are you using? I didn't notice any treble change with my V-Moda headphones. Depending on the device you're using I'm sure you could EQ some back in.

@Algabatz Got mine today. Huge disappointment with my Mark Levinson headphones. They sound like €10 headphones. Lack of clarity, and especially voices sound simply hollow and strange. Is it a fit issue, or is this just snake oil?
@jordanashАй бұрын
Not snake oil I can tell you that much. But if they're a pair of noise cancellation headphones, you'll need to disable that. The ANC and Noise cancelling effects really warp the sound

Again I wouldn't recommend it as they're designed for audio coming side on, so the effectiveness will be greatly reduced.

So you are saying that the sound propagates the same way as light?? What are these magic High Precision Acoustic Reflectors??

I'm no scientist but I don't think that's possible. The reflectors are the angled parts you can see in the cutaway picture, what they developed from the hundreds of tests I mentioned.

The stereo are for festival and loud music, and they protect the hear or just adjust the sound?
@jordanashАй бұрын
They're designed for *any* audio that's forward facing, not specifically loud music. I used that as an example as audio quality isn't the greatest at live events. They're designed to remove the HRFT effects, not protect hearing. As I mentioned for TV / speakers you'll just need to turn it up a little to compensate for the audio needing to go through it.

Immerse enhances sound detail and is great for use at gigs, but it is not a substitute for proper hearing protection. User discretion is advised in loud settings, and we strongly recommend using dedicated ear protection, such as our Earshade ear protectors, to safeguard your hearing.

No offense but you are either kool-aid drunk or paid. I just received mine - both types - and find they do absolutely nothing (beneficial) other than slightly muffling the sound. I've tried all the different sizes of tips, several different sound sources for the Stereo, and my Sony studio cans with the Headphone ones. Marketing nonsense, does absolutely nothing. I will be returning them asap. Glad you mileage varied, hopefully they will work for any of the rest of you who decide to waste some money.

@@jordanash How do they differ from Calmer? What's the expected Frequency response?
@jordanashАй бұрын
They're designed for different things. Calmer is designed to reduce the stressful sounds of everyday life, whereas Immerse is designed for listening to music and sound and removes the HRFT effects, improving the listening experience. I don't have frequency response info, email Flare if you need it though, I'm sure they'll have it.
@flare-audio18 күн бұрын
@@erinwallborg2290 Thanks for your question! How do they differ from Calmer? Immerse and Calmer are designed for different purposes. Calmer focuses on reducing distortion in mid to high frequencies to ease sensory overload. Immerse, on the other hand, reshapes the way sound interacts with your ear, optimising the path that sound takes to deliver a more immersive and precise listening experience. While both products improve clarity, Immerse offers a much broader enhancement for detailed listening in music, gaming, and other audio experiences. What's the expected frequency response? Since Immerse works by changing how sound interacts with your ear rather than directly altering the sound signal, it doesn’t have a fixed frequency response curve in the traditional sense. Instead, its effect varies depending on the individual ear anatomy and fit. This makes providing a standardised frequency response impractical. However, we’re happy to guide you on how to optimise the fit for the best experience-feel free to reach out to us!
