I think you pointed out something really important. There is a theme to this album. Instead of 808s and Heartbreaks, it's 808s and Organs/Choirs. So far, Donda is pacing as the worst reviewed album of Kanye's career on critic sites, and everyone is just saying there's no theme, there's no consistency, no cohesion; but I feel therein lies the issue with critics. They really aren't picking up on the production. The dragging on of songs is a valid criticism, and I guess it's a nice change of pace from songs being too short on Jesus is King; but this album is very far from one of Kanye's worst albums. There's some really beautiful moments spread throughout when he's in his singing bag. I feel it's being bashed by trolls and critics just because it's Kanye; but I haven't seen any reactions to it so far where people seem to hate it like how it's getting rated. Critics praise him when he calls himself a god and exhibits serious narcissism; but when he steps back, makes something more humble and a dedication to his mother who passed, it's a bit telling when this is the album where people choose to be their most critical, when he's at his most vulnerable.
@katrinabataclan88483 жыл бұрын
donda chant is raw, it says the album is donda. God breath on me makes u wanna be, calm relaxed, pray, meditate, if you been to the vatican or a big catholic church maybe you'll understand.. whole thing has a different energy, like it’s from another realm, a godly realm. thinkin bout kanye, kim, his kids, struggles, donda, during this album gets me emootional. im feelin the no cussing, cause i got kids n cant listen to nothing. to me its better than 808s because 808 was all about hurt n kinda dark. too me album feels more comforting, overcoming strife/grief. i honestly just like the energy, its very healing. i hear vibes from past albums to make something even better. album is 100!!!
