@saltydroog854 Жыл бұрын
Don't listen to the haters. As someone that follows quite a few "reaction" based channels, especially voice coaches and music teachers, the biggest challenge these channels face is getting DMAed. You have to fall under "fair use". And the best way to assure that is to interrupt the song so your video can't be a way to listen to the song. They ALL pause it. ALL, as in 100% of them. They pause it to talk about something that stood out to them, or just to express how they are feeling about it thus far. Just go back 10 seconds after you pause in case you did pause it right at an important transition you can ride into that transition again. Do not let yourself be bullied by your community. You are the expert, people are here to hear your reaction to the performance, if they want to hear/see the performance itself they should be clicking on the artist's official link...which you should also post in your description.

Enjoyed seeing your reaction, especially because you did focus on the whole band and not just Tatiana's vocals, amazing as they are. It always fun to see the initial reaction and the disbelief when she goes back to sweet but my favorite part is the section from the surprise belt to the final growl. People's faces seem to melt at the belt and then when it goes back to growl they usually surrender to the reality that they have no idea as to what is going to happen next but they're finally so broken they've abandoned any preconceived notions, and then it's over. Like they're finally ready to accept what ever happens next and then there's nothing. Pure genius.

Symphonic metal: Nightwish - there's an entire repertoire, but anything live after 2013 is worth watching (good quality are the shows from Wacken 2013, Tampere, Wembley Arena 2015, Buenos Aires 2018). Other notable bands: Epica, Within Temptation, After Forever, Prog metal: Ayreon - does not have many shows live as the project is so extensive, a live performance takes a lot of effort to organize. A good one is the following playlist: kzbin.info/www/bejne/noHGdX-NqLeLZpY . As for official videos, the most popular seems to be The Day That The World Breaks Down kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXfYfn6ap9-Dp7c . It's a deep rabbit hole to go down to, just like Nightwish, so happy digging. There are a lot of prog bands, didn't listen this genre so much so can't recommend others Power metal (also combined with other genres): Sabaton, Kamelot, Wintersun, Unleash the Archers and the list can go on and on For more female fry vocals: Arch Enemy Going back to the roots metal: Alien Weaponry, The Hu (little gems that can be very surprising)

Yeah, the videography is way underappreciated for this video! Everything about it is set up to help the shock value of her voice. The colors are very warm with specialty light bulbs scattered low around the set, the depth of field is very shallow, all the instruments are very clean and polished to beautifully reflect the light, and the camera angles are very intimate with lots of headshots. It's completely contradictory to where the song goes, really lulling you into a dream before the impact. It also does a fabulous job of introducing the band members to you, shifting focus between their faces and the instruments that they play. I love the videography done here.

Haven't watched your other videos, but I would always use the arrow keys to skip back a couple seconds after pausing, to make sure you don't miss any transitions (a lot of people manage to pause right when they happen). And yes, doubled vocal layers in certain parts to make it sound fuller. During their live shows they use a short delay on her mic to help with her growls too. This is a re-recording of an older song of them, specifically to show off their (at the time) new drummer, because his style made the song sound very differently. The vocalist is Tatiana, Roman on the guitar, Eugene on the bass and Vlad on the drums. Their high quality live stuff is just lightly produced / polished, but if you want a complete raw experience (minus what is added live) then check out the live in Wacken version of Pisces (I think the info that this one's raw was only on their social media though). Tatiana often plays around vocally when on stage, so it isn't the exact same style as this recording, and it is the second to last song of their spot (Perennial being the last, which I highly recommend too), but you can certainly hear the brutality of her screams and growls. Official video suggestions: Teacher, Teacher Perennial I Speak Astronomy Pit Of Consciousness Judgement & Punishment Cloud Factory Retrospection Sit Stay Roll Over Live suggestions: Perennial live at Wacken Who Is Gonna Be The One live On The Top live in Kiev Pit Of Consciousness live in Kiev Judgement & Punishment live in Melbourne Teacher, Teacher live in Melbourne

After your introductory comments, I checked your videos before watching and gotta say I've watched Denzel Curry's RATM cover quite a few times and bought the MP3, so kudos there, and subbed. :) My $.02 is that I want you to pause it and give your feedback. There are plenty of folks with nothing of substance to add who can watch videos and make faces, laugh, cry, scream, get up and leave the room, spit out their drinks, and such. With your background, I'm interested to hear your analysis, so please share, and waiting until the end isn't really practical. I would say, that backing up after a pause is best practice to maintain the flow of the song though. And also that at least 10% of everyone are idiots... ;) I'm not sure what the growls would sound like with no amplification. The only growler I know of who routinely growls without a mic at times is Alex Terrible of Slaughter to Prevail, at least on the song Demolisher (in bootlegs of that song the growls without a mic aren't as loud as in the official video but he's clearly producing that tone) and it is loud enough to perform on stage after he hushes the crowd a bit. Although Tatiana can go lower than she does in this version of Pisces, Alex and other top-tier male growlers can go even lower. Best I can suggest is going back to 2012 when they were nobodies, with a bootleg of them covering Lamb of God's song Laid To Rest (Laid to Rest starts about 55s in kzbin.info/www/bejne/qYnMn6Vsm9p3h7M). Typically after the introduction with Pisces, I'd recommend a concert performance next to see what they can do on stage as they are arguably better on stage than in the studio. Their most recent video released a few weeks ago is Teacher Teacher live in Melbourne, which is also one of their most popular songs. I see recommendations for the one-take video for Judgement & Punishment which is fire too. They have some great studio videos too, but you'll usually get more views on the live videos so if you want to see the studio stuff out of professional curiosity, maybe do double-features? I'm not greedy, really. ;) Double features of Jinjer songs are well-received, but obviously that's a lot more work. Cheers!

I concur with Jeffrey. I watch reactions for the reactions, especially when someone has an inside point of view. So there is a lot of debate on the vocals in this video. As any Jinjer fan will tell you, what you are hearing is all her, ie, no special effects. However, there is also obviously some post work, layering/doubling for harmonies on some of the cleans and oooomph on the some of the growls. The REAL question, is if the vocal audio we're hearing is from this performance, as the drums obviously are, or if they are from the album. If you listen to the album, the vocals sound identical other than the lack of a growl during the lyric "sunbeam".
@j.f.fisher53184 жыл бұрын
Well put. I overlapped both the album version and this one in Audacity and the vocals are basically identical with none of the weirdness you'd hear if they were two different recordings.

She doesn’t really prepare her recording parts in advance. She calls herself a procrastinator and leaves everything to the last minute, which results in her improvising most of her stuff in the studio. Personally, I find that absolutely incomprehensible, considering the results. Her talent and intuition seem immeasurable. 2. About writing her lyrics, she said, that she used to attempt to write the words onto the music, but never got it right. So she started writing the lyrics without regarding the music at all, focusing on the story first. And then later she figures out in which way she places the words onto the music. Which is probably why nothing sounds the same. Every line and verse has its own dynamic. Some of it even seems quite odd. But in a good way, since it still flows flawlessly. Again, the talent and intuition it takes to make something like that work, is ridiculous. For most people, I‘m sure, this procedure would be a recipe for certain failure. This band is from another planet. Or maybe even from another time period. So advanced and effortless. It makes you want to quit immediately 😅

Judgment & punishment one take vocals. Being a part of the sound industry myself for around 16 years it blew me away. Tatiana is a badass and everything she and her band do tells you how much they love the craft

Great reaction man, Aussie fan here. Saw them in Sydney last year - amazing. Her one-take of Judgemebt and Punishment is awesome, Perennial live is also great, amongst other things... and... have you thought of going down the Nightwish rabbit-hole???

Music Producer of Jinjer metal band is well known Ukraininan producer Max Morton (Pasechnyk). He has absolute hearing, he used multilayering and other stuff...

This is mastered, but its its all Tatiana. Since I don't see it I'll make the obligatory Jinjer Perennial Live at Wacken open air 2019

Perennial at Wacken is another great video, and the official video is fire too, though reactions to the live version get about 2x the views.

What does "mastered" mean?

I’m late to your reaction, but I’ve seen a thousand of them. However, I do like seeing people notice the band and not just her. Idk if anyone commented, but this was to showcase their new drummer at the time. This song was on an album with their previous drummer. The doubling you’re hearing is her layered vocal she did when recording the album.

It was a reaction worth watching! I wish that more reactions like this would appear on KZbin. More Jinjer please :) MORE!!!

enjoyed the reaction, yes pausing annoys people if it's done too frequently, so always rewind 10 secs it helps with the flow of the song. the better reactors and more popular ones are the people who bring their own technical know-how and insights into the video it becomes more than a reaction and we learn more about making music and what goes into it, so it adds to the experience and appreciation. Having said all, you do you mate, and don't give a fuck what people say, it's the internet. An amazing band to check out is Nightwish "Ghost Love Score" live at Waken 2013 is a good place to start, always go live with Nightwish. Any way I subbed, looking forward to more and have a good one

I'm always excited to see a first time reaction to Jinjer, but being a music producer, I'd be more excited to see you react to the best & most fun "hard rock" band I've heard in over 20yrs, BAND-MAID!! For a first listen I'd suggest the live performance of their song "Domination" recorded on 14 February, 2020 @ Line Cube Shibuya in Tokyo. Thank you.

Your enthusiasm/thoughts are the point! Anyone caught up on pauses needs to chill and just go back to the original video. That was so much fun. Fun fact: this version is an update to the original album version. The more complex drum lines in this one really add a lot of life to it. A great example for how details can make a composition.

I saw an interview with them and they said they did add a smidge of distortion on the vocals, but just a smidge. Also a touch of chorus in places.

Aaah yes, the old 'I'm loving it so far, very nice and relaxing'.......me sitting here grinning, just waiting for the pause and mind blow. Nah mate, ya gotta take it in or you miss it. .....and hey, it was nice to see an actual real reaction. It is most definitely a composition, you nailed it with that one.
