Traditional English pronunciation of Latin is weird -- see American legal jargon for examples. But the words are usually pronounced as if you are trying to say French words as if they were English. Latin pronunciation of Pisces would be Piss-kays. In Italian it would be something like Pishes. In French, Piss-ees. Where the long "i" in the English pronunciation has come from is a mystery.

Talent, plus years of work to make the most of that talent. She was inspired to sing metal hearing Otep when she was 15, started singing cleans in various local bands to build her foundation, then at 18 started practicing growls with Dig by Mudvayne before moving on the Laid to Rest by LoG. After 4 years of practice she started using growls in performances with the band she sang with about a year before joining Jinjer and she says she still was terrible (though if she's like most women I know, that probably means she was good enough that if she'd been a guy she'd have bought herself a beer, patted herself on the back, and rested on her laurels but only perfection was good enough for her haha) but she says performing with growls helped her polish her technique. Then she joined Jinjer and has been performing with them for over a decade, constantly getting better both at her cleans and growling skills. This isn't showing off her lowest growls either. Perennial at Wacken is a great well-rounded performance on stage. Who Is Gonna Be The One shows a 2017 snapshot of what she could do with her full range of growls and some interesting cleans that I'll leave for you to discover. The most savage growls on anything they've released are Pit Of Consciousness live in Kiev - the song is about her mental health struggles and that was recorded last winter. BTW, probably not something to react to, but if you are curious there are bootlegs of them covering Laid To Rest when they were just starting out. Best sound it on the one that was uploaded in 2012 by NosSam and has a title all in Russian except for the name Jinjer. Cheers!

The growling will eventually fuck her vocals. It’s a very unnatural sound for a woman’s voice and she will probably end up with polyps. Apart from that, it’s fucking annoying.
@Duality3334 жыл бұрын
SvenTviking she’s not using her vocal cords though so, no she won’t be fucking up her vocals. Like have you ever screamed before? Right after if you tried to sing and hit the high notes she did, you’d prolly scratch out and not get anywhere close. Plus you’d be in pain doing it...do you see her struggling when she goes from her growls to singing? It’s because she is using her throat and mouth to make the sound, not her vocals. She’s better than you give her credit for.

Fantastic reaction! A) Watching people react to this song/video is a huge guilty pleasure of mine. Watching people's jaw drop when Tati does her vocal changeover is always fun and awesome. B) I *ESPECIALLY* love it when those listening are metalheads. Sure, watching vocal coaches or pop singers, or people who're not into metal react is fun, but true metalheads really KNOW just how hard what she does is. And the fact that she does it *absolutely flawlessly* is just incredible. I saw your jaw drop when she did it in the last section of the song...GROWL GROWL *angelic singing* GROWL GROWL, all within the space of a couple bars. You *KNOW* how hard that is, and you appreciate it at a totally different level than a lot of other reactors. C) You deserve far more subs than you have. You're reaction was great, and your presence on video is really polished. You have at least one more new sub in me, and I'll be sharing this video and your channel with my friends. Finally, D) I echo all of those who are suggesting Teacher Teacher next. Tati is one of those rare performers who's just as awesome live as she is in studio. And Teacher Teacher really shows off her ability to switch between styles at the drop of a hat. From there, just enjoy going down the Jinjer rabbit hole. You wont be disappointed, I promise.
@CarlosWadeMusic4 жыл бұрын
Man this is probably the nicest comment I have ever received. Thank you! And I totally agree about the “non metal heads” reacting to things. Other than watching people react to Pisces my favorite part about these videos is looking down into the comments to see literally every other Jinjer fan that's here for the same reason and to promote them even more. It's such a cool thing to see

I remember the first time I saw this. A co-worker played it for me, and swore up and down that it was some type of equipment that was altering her voice.......as it turns out, it was her, mind blown...BOOM!

Jinjer - The song Cloud Factory FKN Kicks Ass. I have that same amp. Found it driving down the street one day saw it sticking out of someone's trash. Works perfect just need tubes. Its crazy some of the shit people throw away.

i would say she is a solid 'Upper Tenor' what i mean by that is she goes down into the tenor register though she's a...alto on higher end. good modulation in her voice

i love pisces. For me it is the song of the year. I know it is from 2016, but i have heard it only this year. I would love if you could react to "In the Air tonight" from Exilia. I NEVER thought Phil Collins original could be topped, but in my opinion Exilia did!
