Colters dad. Brad was premier of Saskatchewan. He drove home to Speedy Creek. 2.5 hours every day after work. They lived at the end of my street. Brad owned Waylon’s Cadillac. Colter is named for Jesse Colter. Brad thought naming him Waylon was a little much. Lol. Great People.

Guys, Let these artists be who they are. They aren't some cheap knockoff of Waylon, Johnny or Merle... Sure, you can see the influence some of the legends have had on these new artists but these guys have just as much talent. This is Colter Wall.... a Legend in the making.

Thats whats cool about a lot of the lesser known country stars coming out( apparently people are calling this subgenre americana, idk dont really matter to me) is that they are all unique and the fact that when i describe them to people that havent heard them i cant really place them in a pre-existing subgenre or even accurately describe their music, which makes them just that much more unique and authentic.

His father was the same as governor, he was premier of Saskatchewan for years, and well respected which is rare. I remember he was asked to do a radio interview there, and said he couldn't make it and said sorry, but they were out herding cattle and he had signed on wouldn't miss what he had committed to. Years ago, but shows the character of him.

How does one develop the voice of a weatherbeaten chain cigar smoking 65 yr old downtrodden troubadour in 17-20 years?? He's a talented kid for certain and it is refreshing and rare this day & time to experience someone with a new and authentic yet somewhat old schoolish sound, far from the top 40 "pop" music row BS that Nashville dictates for radio play. I personally can no longer bear listening to country radio anymore because aside from Chris Stapleton, it all sounds like the same crap. Thank goodness for KZbin, otherwise, I may have never been exposed to Colton, Sturgil and the handful of the current artists who actually have a soul that I very much appreciate and enjoy listening to. Cheers!

Wall God It’s simple. If you are getting one because someone else wore one, then you aren’t country. The reason you already had one if you are actually country is because their is no other headwear nearly as useful. Nothing else keeps the rain from going down the neck of your duster. Nothing else blocks the sun as well. You can feed or water your horse out of it. There is nothing like it. Plus, when you go by the brand name (Stetson) it’s obvious that you aren’t country. Even more so than calling it a cowboy hat. It’s just a hat, because nothing else comes close. Everything else is just a cap.

In New Zealand no one has has a fucking clue what country music is. Im isolated in my taste. As soon as this pandemics done I’m coming to see this man. Keeping the torch burning for a beautiful song telling genre.

I was born and raised in speedy creek. While I can’t say I relate to sleeping in the snow I can picture the scene in a number of corners of the small city in SW Saskatchewan. This is a catchy little tune and can be enjoyed by anyone who appreciates good music but being from Swifty helps.

My soul lit up when I heard this young genius mention the letters "RCM" and "P". a CANADIAN! His dad was the 14th premier of Saskatchewan. His unique weatherbeaten voice is literally just that - playing hockey outside when it's 20 below. Cold? Put on 2 pair of socks? Life not fair? Get over it. Canadian truisms. And yes, the RCMP will leave a drunk to freeze in the snow, particularly if they are indigenous. I feel like I've discovered a treasure here - and I have!

It was a cold and cruel evening sneakin’ up on Speedy Creek, I found myself a-sleepin’ in the snow, For one or two odd reasons I ain’t too proud to repeat, For now we’ll say I had no place to go, There was a rustle and a hummin’ just haulin’ down the street, I drew myself up from my icy bed, Painted on that shiny car the letters R C M and P, I could feel a little achin’ in my head, And then out jumps this old boy about a-twice the size of me, He asked me for my name and where I dwelt, And I just looked him in the eye and sang Blue Yodel No. 9, He didn’t catch the reference I could tell, Then the old familiar click and the handcuff’s bindin’ grip, He should’ve left me in the snow where I lay, Well he just laughed and touched his gun and turnin’ to me he said, “Son, I bet you don’t own a damn thing to your name.” “I got my health, my John B. Stetson, I got me a bottle full of baby’s Bluebird Wine, I left my stash somewhere down in Preston, Along with 13 silver dollars and my mind.”
