ATTENTION! It seems as though the movie “Bohemian Rhapsody” incorrectly showed Freddie telling the band he had AIDS before the Live Aid performance! Freddie’s was not diagnosed with HIV until after this concert.
@odonovan2 жыл бұрын
It's entirely possible Freddie DID tell the band before Live Aid, since he was symptomatic as far back as 1982. The guys would have VERY likely known something was wrong well before Live Aid. We know Freddie could trust them to not say anything to anyone else, so nothing would have stopped him from telling them, since they could then help cover for him.
@StrateleStudios2 жыл бұрын
@@odonovan From what I read recently the partner Freddy had towards the end made the statement that Freddy had not told anyone before LIVE AID. BUT Freddie must have had symptoms before LIVE AID I would think. He probably knew something was wrong.

@@JoshCarlos1998 It is common knowledge that he was diagnosed in 1987 and the test, sadly, turned to be positive. Anything before that is more or less speculation. In older pre-movie interviews and documentaries May and Taylor repeatedly stated that Freddie kept his health details a secret even to them up until they started working on The Miracle album (sometime around 1988). Then Freddie said to them that he wanted to work and make music "until I fucking die", in his own words.

@@MegaSlowburner By all accounts, Freddie did not utter a word about his HIV+ to anyone in the band until 1988, so no need to speculate. The movie took too many liberties to refer to as an accurate account of Freddie’s life. Shame really.

Hey Jeff thanks for checking this out! Sometime next week I’ll send you another tune of Marc’s that’ll definitely be emotional. Also, about the Live AID section of Bohemian Rhapsody. Freddie wasn’t diagnosed at that time until much later on (around 1986 or 87 instead of a year or so before). Freddie was sick during that performance, but it was separate from the disease that unfortunately ended his life. So the movie took some creative liberties with that whole ordeal. Anyway, thanks for the vids Jeff. I’ll see you next week with another request. See ya man🤘

Great show Jeff killer band. I would like to remind you of a request for you to do a reaction to Over the Rainbow by Eva Cassidy. In 1991 this version was voted best song of all time. Eva was a genius, although a completely different style of interpretation than Angelina Jordan I believe, had she lived she would have been very famous. After her death a record producer from the UK got a dj friend to listen to Eva he loved it. It quickly went to the top of the charts, her albums sold millions there and all over the world. Eva died around 1991 of melanoma, unfortunately she didn’t live to see her success. This beats the original by at least a mile, but I’ll warn you get your tissues ready!!! I’d send you a donation but I’m on a fixed income, less than 1k a month. But I’d appreciate if you could put her on your list, please.

Marc is a good Freddie impersonator. But he doesn't have Freddie's essence. I didn't hear Freddie so much as Marc trying to sound like Freddie in this performance. I usually like his covers of Queen. I still cry about Freddie. You're not alone. Queen and Nightwish are my favorite bands in the world. I think Floor of Nightwish is a fantastic front-person, and she has the audience in the palm of her hand like he used to. I truly believe that if she started doing the "Aeeee-oh!" thing like he used to, or any other audience participation tactic, her audience would enthusiastically respond. But yeah, I do miss Freddie. Thank you for the great video.
