In one PTX interview, the four members all said that they appreciated how hard Matt has worked to learn all of their songs and Avi's parts.

a good example of clearing issues with PTX is their Evolution of Beyonce. They were booked to perform it on Ellen, but they had to get clearance for EVERY song in the medley, and they didn't get that - so they had to rewrite the medley for the show.

In the beginning, their live performances were kinda shaky, because whoever was running the sound seemed to make the assumption that only one person was the lead. They would usually boost Scott's mic, so when he was background he was still overpowering. My guess is, they bring their own sound tech now.

Love this live performance. Mic balance on point! Matt shining! And that chromatic walk down at 7:03 shows their live talent!

matt’s bass line in this is just killer and this performance i believe is a half step down from the original key they recorded this in! i hope you checkout their off mic private performance of daft punk, just them singing in a room with its natural acoustics, really showcases just how incredible they are

I looked thru your PTX reactions and did not see their live version of Aha?!?! That is a MUST SEE! It was filmed by a fan so audio isn't great but that being said, Avi and Mitch kill it...Aha, live from the star Vista Singapore
@larrywt6563 жыл бұрын
Mitch's first solo shows one of the biggest problems with Pentatonix TV appearances. Neither the director nor any of the camera operators had any clue that it was him singing. They fumbled from a shot of Kevin to Kirstie before finally getting a shot of Mitch. Something like this happens on almost every one of their TV appearances. At least the audio mix was decent on this one. You should check out the official video (just for yourself if you don't want to react to it) to see how close this is to the studio version.

Popspring Performance 2016! Totally worth the 15 minutes for all four songs! I know I'm not the only one who would want to see your reaction to it!

I love Matt's performance in this particular performance! It's pitched a half step down from the original, but Matt still nailed all the low notes.

I'm happy that you are willing to react to more Pentatonix live TV performances. Here are some with lively audiences: "Can't Sleep Love" kzbin.info/www/bejne/mXeWqqaogZ6Xp9E ; "Cracked" kzbin.info/www/bejne/bom2q5WVe8-pgrM ; "On My Way Home" kzbin.info/www/bejne/fGeueJiNq92nb7M ; "La La Latch" kzbin.info/www/bejne/a4jNemiPoMxnr6c ; "New Year's Day" kzbin.info/www/bejne/q5y3eH59mpaWfsk ; "Misbehavin'" kzbin.info/www/bejne/iGOcapZsrs10eK8 and the one which got a standing ovation from Simon Cowell "Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays" kzbin.info/www/bejne/jWmpfnWJhLd2irc . There is an amazing "Popspring" concert video which has 3 original songs and Evolution Of Michael Jackson all performed live in Japan, recorded for MTV kzbin.info/www/bejne/bXiweaSPrdWhsM0 .

Some of the best live performances are awards shows: Elvira, Tom Hanks Kennedy Center Honors, BeeGees tribute, Star Wars, Jackson 5 tribute, tribute with Stevie Wonder, due with Smokey Robinson, etc...

Love this one! I've always wondered about the clearing issues with the covers...but my guess (since they have done so many) is that it's part of the initial deal to get the rights to the song. That being said, notice how their "evolution" medleys are not on streaming or their albums... Another great live was this performance for New Years 2016/17 kzbin.info/www/bejne/q5y3eH59mpaWfsk

Scott said a while an ago they pay up a huge amount for Song Royalties to do those Covers and Perform them and that people tend to forget that they have to go through a lot of Law Shit. It's also easier if they Cover Songs from people on the same Record Label because those Assheads most of the time own the Song, not the Artist themselves. A lot of their Covers are before Artist stood up and did their own stuff on Spotify, KZbin and Co and had so sale out to labels. The Reason PTX has such a Special Relationship to Japan and Japanese Artist because their Mother Record Label SME is Japanese, that's why fans in Japan get different Albums and different Songs sometimes. If the Artist is on another Label, they have to Pay up.

I think he meant when he was comparing the two live perfomances of Can't Sleep Love (he released this reaction yesterday), which had Avi, versus this live performance of Attention.
@Texastigerdigsdetects3 жыл бұрын
@@tasia2174 He didn’t clarify that well if that is the case. I also believe he was referring to Avi in relation to this song in comparison with Matt.

Welcome to the wonderful world of music publishing clearances. I've worked in TV for a LONG time, and it's a major pain every time I want to use a piece of music on something.

5:45 Low / inattentive crowd? We called that a paid rehearsal. [Humor as a Band-aid] Agree it's really hard to get to full on level with no involvement. (Band-aid pun unintentional but I'll take it.)

👋😀Hey Jacob can you react to Citizen Queen and Acapop kids the two groups that Ben Bram and Scott Hoying from Pentatonix co-founded it would be great to support them. For citizen Queen I recommend No-Tears-Left-To-Cry, Lost In Japan, Evolution Of Girl Groups and Never Enough watch these videos to the end so you know the names of the members!! They have a female bass and a beatboxer. On Acapop kids there's about 30 kids broken up into smaller groups there's beatboxers and bass singers I recommend Bohemian Rhapsody / Somebody to Love it's an amazing Arrangement Fix You, Breathin, Valerie Among others....
