Thank you Kevin, I was 220lb @5' 7, and now now I'm 173. The only issue I'm having is that for the past 2 weeks I'm back to eating my old way. I'm watching you video, and I'm like dude your my height, and bro we're the same age. I then take a very deep breath and say I can't go back because it almost killed me. I had COVID 1.6.22, a heartache 2.15.22, 4 stents placed 3.19.22, 7.xx.22 acute kidney failure. 10.15.22 left total knee replacement, 12.7.22 right total knee replacement. Your video Sir has reminded me that I have a family and friends that love me, and I don't want to go back. My issue is stress eating, and as you can imagine I've be under a lot of 😬. The knee replacements were supposed to help me be able to be more active. The problem with that is the amount of pain having both of them done at the same time is overwhelming. Your video also reminded me that I am stronger then I give myself credit for. I don't mean lifting strength but we both have inner strength because it takes a lot of mental fortitude to make these types of changes in our lives. Thank you dude really for the reminders!!! Big time Bro hug to you! Also thank you for your IRS videos.

I've been on the carnivore diet for about 1 1 /2 years and it worked for me. I will stay on it for life, I feel great and my labs are perfect. So glad you look so healthy , for my health journey I have to give credit to Dr. Shawn Baker.

An engineers perspective on health and weight loss is not easy to find. I recently saw the documentary 'The truth about fat' on PBS. All my life I've been told I eat terribly for my health. My health has never been an issue. I've maintained sub 200lbs at 5' 10" since I was 17. You and that documentary are the first sources I've found to say I eat just fine. My health proves it. I dig the science behind understanding ones needs. More racers should treat their bodies like their cars. Keep it up!

Great job. Keep the vids coming. I’ve lost 120 pounds and my A1C went from 10.6 to 5.5 and the doctor said that I’m not diabetic anymore. We’ve been lied to all these years about six meals a day, low fat this and that, more carbs, more grains (which instantly turn to sugar). The glucose meter doesn’t lie. My doctor was blown away that my triglycerides went from 723 to 150. His jaw dropped when I told him that I eat cheeseburgers fried in butter and tons of bacon. The fat/cholesterol you eat doesn’t raise your cholesterol numbers, it’s the extra carbs/sugars screwing up our metabolic system. Dr Ken Berry, Healthy Coach Kait, Beat Diabetes, Dr. Berg, Serious Keto are some great channels that I follow here on KZbin.

This is awesome Kevin. I too myself is on a weight loss journey. I started with carnivore as well. Now on a low sugar high protein diet and still eating once a day without felling hungry. If I get hungry I eat, if I don't, I eat at normal time I do daily. I am current down to 230 and my goal is 200. I am 45 and have not been under 200 since my early 20's. I have acid reflux and other stomach issues and this diet and weight loss has made a huge difference. Plus the race car is going to be quicker with less weight. Lol

It's funny how we were always told 3 meals a day and snacks in between. And now eating this way, were barely hungry. I've found that it's been harder to get out of that normal eating routine for work I've been doing my whole working life. Like only eating during my designated times. So I've been eating my eggs and bacon for breakfast and then fasting lunch and just walking during my lunch hour and then eating dinner if I'm hungry. Most of the time I am hungry of course. But I also eat breakfast at 8:30am. But I don't snack anymore!!

Thanks for sharing this Kevin! You shared in a way that I think will help people. I too have made some changes in the way I eat and exercise over the past year or so. I hit my weight goal this morning. I haven't been this weight since the 70s. Like you said, it takes planning and consistency. Keep it up!

Kevin, this is great to hear! I love the information in your leaf spring suspension videos, but this is even better. I am on a path of weight loss as well, only 8wks in myself, but just past 20lb mark and for once I feel like I can keep going. Hearing your story is inspiring. It's good to hear real-world experience from a fellow car guy who isn't just selling something. Youre looking great, keep up the great work, and thank you again for sharing what you have learned.

Lot of water retention too with being overweight, basically walking around with 50% congestive heart failure as a norm. It sucks not being to breath to a point of unconsciousness, in my case having your throat cut and put on an iron lung for 21 days. Guillain-Barré Syndrome "Neurological" Good thing for modern medicine or I'd have hit the trail in 2013 @ 58. Doctors are getting pretty good at cheating death. It's all about having healthy blood. Good you made it!

I want to congratulate you on your awakening! I used to bracket race through the 80s with the last pass sometime around 93. I started watching some of your videos a few weeks back and of course the first thing that jumps off the screen is your obesity. Sorry, that’s the truth. I had a notion to call you out on it but didn’t. Your poor wife and kids were undoubtedly very anxious about the likelyhood of you dying young. Your height/weight puts a tremendous stress on your internal organs. The plumber that used to do my back flow device testing looked just like you. He’s been dead for 6 yrs. Mid 50s….. w

What’s your target ? Hopefully sub-200 lbs. 175 or so would be good. The heck with the body builder look. Slim down. I’m 69 and naturally thin although a neck injury 20 yrs ago reduced my activity levels which caused me to gain weight and have to start watching calories. Just cutting out sweetened drinks was a major factor in keeping the scale from complaining. Anyway, being slim at 69 is a tremendous asset . Even with the neck issues and arthritis I am like an athlete compared to most people my age. Good luck in your journey!!
