I just learned about your story with you appearing on Paul in the Philippine's channel. Glad I did because your story interests me, and I totally respect you for staying with your kids to raise them right. I was raised by a single father myself, so I can relate. Best of luck to you, and thanks for your advice. I'm a new subscriber to your channel, and I'll be keeping up with it to see how you're making out. Prayers for you and your children and family.

i am married to a filipina in the states and after 6 yrs were getting divorced.i am coming there soon to retire and she's staying here to work and pay for her new house in the Philippines.i think america changed her but it has given her and her family a better life.everything changes and everything happens for a reason.take care bro

Joe, if you don’t mind, what was your filipina’s age when you married her? Was she very young, maybe early 20s? I have a theory that the very young Filipinas still have a lot of maturing to do. When marriage gets difficult and they realize they could do better and get divorced, they can easily find someone new if they are still young, maybe under 35.

@Ahno Nymuz I know a Filipino married couple that moved to the USA and becacame naturalized dual citizens. I guess they did get somewhat materialistic and obsessed with making money while they lived in the USA. They own property in the USA and in the Philippines and spend half the year in each country. But, somehow, they managed to raise their children, took care of their elderly parents, and stayed married for 45+ years. I think the key is that they always did things together as a family as much as they could.

filipinas are all about working and sending money back to the filipines, whether its to help her parents/family, or that new house u mentioned...instead of asking u to do that for her (or maybe she did ask u and u were against it), she wants to do it on her own by working and earning her own money...u didnt say anything else that would give us any clue why she changed, but we cant judge bcuz we dont have both sides of the story.

@@rolandmueller7218 >>> yes they bcome obsessed with working and earning money to buy a home/land back in the filipines (bcuz most of them or all have plans to move back to the filipines in the future, or to provide for her family. back in the filipines)..i know a few of them where i live that does that and they have two jobs...really, u cant blame them for wanting to work and earen money...remember, there are more filipinas taht are willing to work and earn their own money than rely on her husband.

First off amazing clip. I really feel for you brother. I think you said it yourself when you said that you did everything you could to make her happy. This was a problem IMO. If you live vicariously through your family EVEN though it is where your joy comes from, you will lose respect rightfully or wrongfully from your family. Although Philippinos are very family oriented they can be very self centered and they almost resent your " saintly " loyalty to others that they themselves know that they don't have. We all go through different relationships and phases in life, like you said your children are growing up and you will always be their father and have a relationship with them. God has a way of moving us forward onto another path or direction in life. This could be that time for you. I always found in life that if a man isn't willing and prepared to leave a woman and doesn't let her know that, that's when they lose respect for a man. You can take comfort in that you gave all your love and effort into your and now it maybe time to move along. Perhaps you have fulfilled ( given ) your wife everything she wanted and needed from you and she has no futher use for you. It hurts, it's painful and it's saddening. But I'm sure you been through it before. It seems she wants you to move on with your life and perhaps you should find a another woman. Hopefully this isn't part of some sort of plot to jam you up with the law somehow. Hopefully she hasn't been " playing " you for so long. Regardless you will always have beautiful children and that is something real. Hard to accept the possibility that you have been a sucker for so long. I'm definitely not saying that you were and I hope that she didn't play you for her own agenda. Were you naive perhaps but you have a huge loving heart and sometimes people interpret that as a weakness and sometimes it actually is a weakness that people prey on and try to capitalize and take advantage of people like us.I been exactly where you are and it's definitely not easy, best advice I can give is move along and know that in the eyes of God you did that which was good. Good luck I hope things work out fine for you and we know to listen to the still small voice of the holy spirit within us. Or let her know you have a new girlfriend and watch how fast she gets her ass home. Your choice. Good luck. Brother.

Now Ive met a 58 year old filipina that seems to be genuine and had all the qualities that western Women have lost. I hope to share a beer with you the next time I'm in the phils. Happy trails from Colorado.

When a woman consistently pushes a man down, it is a sign she is unhappy with the relationship. I feel for you. I have been where you are at and never want to go back. I do believe that when that behavior starts, a man needs to set boundaries and let her understand that is not acceptable.

Your mistake was taking her to the states.. suddenly she got a taste of "the good life" . They just see the shiny stuff cuz they don't pay attention to the stuff that bogs down our minds and makes us wanna come here to paradise for the "easy life" She became seduced by the western treasure. Its all too common.. Happened to me, my best friend and many others. Lean on the lord. His will will be done

You are the rock for your kids. You didn’t abandon them like your wife. Maybe she did you a favor that you can’t see. I wouldn’t want to be with a woman who left her children. I realize there are two sides of the story, but you could not pay me enough to leave my kids while they are still young. This speaks volumes about her character. We can find out things in our significant others’ after 20 years that we never knew existed.

You asked, "Why did it turn around"? Cuz you stop being the man of the house, a masculine leader & over time gave her the power. You gave her too much, spoiled her, started putting her up on a pedestal, which backfired, as doing that causes the woman to lose attraction for you. Metaphorically speaking, you handed her your balls & she put them in a jar on on the shelf & hid the key, so she has control over your balls. That's tacky but true.

Appreciate the honesty gman! I think all us older dudes have our war stories related to love. After watching a bunch of your videos it showed me you’ve always done things with good intentions for your family. Sadly I’ve experienced also bringing a woman to the states. Many times they see you differently when suddenly they have opportunities to help themselves. Sometimes things will self correct. If they don’t, then you realize the relationship ran it’s course and you have to start over. Worst case you’ve got 3 beautiful kids and you’re in a place where you won’t have trouble finding another. Hoping for success in your situation brother!!

You are comparing a 20yo province girl to the woman she has become at 39. You are the one that chose to take her and your children to America, you would have to be blind to think that wouldn’t change her. I am not busting your chops, I understand why you did it, I’m just speaking reality. The truth is, that giggle 20yo young lady would have grown into a mature adult and changed even if you didn’t move her to America. Obviously moving her to America changed her 10x. I always say the same about every relationship…enjoy your turn with her/him… a small percentage last a lifetime. She does deserve to follow her dreams, she is allowed as a human to fall out of love with you, she is allowed to take the time to find herself. She has to think about her life when you are gone, and how will she support herself. She is a middle aged lady with many good years left. I don’t think she is ungrateful, the reality is, she could have left a long time ago, plenty of rich American men that would love to marry a Filipina, regardless how many children she has. She stayed with you. I don’t think she ever intended on staying in the Philippines, I think she had it in her mind that she would go back to America, once she seen the kids were safe, education set up, etc… She is a beautiful woman and will have many many men in America dreaming to date her, that will be up for her to decide. IF she does come back and stay, cherish that woman for the rest of your life. God bless and I hope it all works out.

Marriage isnt just about love. Arranged marriages have a better success rate. Its about commitment and mutual respect in each others roles. Im concerned she only returned to the Philippines to be able to separate. Ie. Playing uou for which reason? Waiting till the kids old enough to drop them. Whos land is the house on? Can you be with someone else in the house? Or is she winning. Will she get it all with your departure? Even if the kids Inhereited its still hers in the end

Wow. Love the honesty in your video. Yes, I currently is seeing a Filipina and will be there in the Philippines in August. And I’m totally aware of the challenges of relationships. As prepared as you think we all think we may be, it’s still an extremely difficult mountain to climb when change occurs. I’ve often tell my filipina, “ it’s easy to fall in love, but staying in love, in that blissful place you both had in the beginning, is much harder sustain”. Best of luck brother! But everything happens for its divine purpose…and I’m hopeful when I get there to “ make the rest of my life, the best of my life”….I’m confident you will too! Aloha!

Hahaha interesting perspective! We have all experienced some of what you’re speaking of. Seems it human nature because everyone has experienced similar things. Once someone becomes independent and self sufficient their perspective change. Most men are self reliant because our culture requires and expects men to be. Not so much with women. Im not being chauvinistic when I say this albeit thinking has certainly changed over my lifetime. Well after 3 marriages I get it. Actually I got it after the first one. So regardless of my emotional commitment or feelings towards another woman when marriage becomes a topic so does prenuptial. This has never saved any of my marriages but it’s saved my ass during the divorce. That’s reason enough for me. In the Philippines it Bahala na. It is a significant part of their culture. I feel it allows the to live as they do with becoming depressed or angry. Just my view.

The American South does resemble a lot of provincia life. I assume your wife lives in an American city where cost of living is high and its all work. She is a younger worker bee at her prime brain power. The drawback is the 20+ hour flight between you. I bet your kids will also move to America and work. Jobs are too competitive in the Philippines. Your wife is just paving the way.

If you are married to her, you have all the right to bring her back near you and as a family. Speak to her. Clarify the issues. On the other hand, your wife, like many other Filipinos is probably fulfilling her American dream. She’s young, still in her working age as a nurse in the US. It could be that she’s getting Americanised, that makes her changed. I’m a Nurse myself, and it’s a stressful job.

Love is rarely forever is my experience. My X left me because she felt controlled all her life, realized years later it was not me it was her family generally wanted to come back but the damage was done. Read lots of the comments here mostly good and have genuine points. My only advice is heal good and move on. I wasted 5 years broken hearted only to realise it was not something I did but more what’s going on in her head. Love will find its way to you again

Brought my ph wife to America it corrupted her within 7 years she was unrecognizable a poor mtn girl that was tickled pink to shop for new clothes at good will to. If it ain’t Gucci then don’t bother. Luckily she left me for a younger man that could afford her. I so miss how happy I was the first year. I moved back to ph hoping to find that again this time never moving back to USA.

Hopefully she doesn't return to the Philippines and kick you out of your new home? Put the deed of the home in one of your children's name instead! What your wife doesn't realize is that karma is real and it will 100% come back to bite her!

You can not make your wife happy unless she will makes herself happy first.Perhaps she can not find a job in Pinas that is why she went back to USA. Perhaps she wants to experience a single life in her 40's.Hope she wont regret her decision one one of these days.

Nothing in life last for ever, even love or marriage. Filipinas, once they had a taste of the west, they change. Don't want to discourage you, but you've lost her for good. Just look for someone else and don't invest anymore cash in her. Expect her to pay her share for the children cost of living

The Filipina women are hard to understand by western men, you just have to accept your wife for what she is and move on, continue loving her and maybe someday she will understand you.

Wow! That’s a lot of reality. Big respect for you to open up like that. I can see the emotion in your eyes. I’m about to make my move to the Philippines. It’s a good reminder that things can change. Do you believe exposure to the west has been a negative influence on her? It seems like the modern, western culture is to drive a wedge between men and women. I hope the best for you two and your family

l think this is where the age gap comes in, the younger wife wants to work cause she might think she is wasting her productive years, while the guy wants to stop working and relax because he just wants to enjoy the rest of his life, lm not saying this is the case for you guys, but all the best wishes to you Juels and to the Mrs. , whatever it might be you guys will get through it im sure

My 2nd marriage is approaching 15years now with another child who is our little miracle being born in the US back in 2014 at only 24 weeks at 1lb 12oz and spending 3 months in NICU with hospital bill of 1m US. My 2nd wife is a province girl with 10 siblings here in Bohol and we are still going strong but yes once they know they won that golden ticket and own the chocolate factory they do change a bit but the province girls are usually much more faithful, hardworking and will take care of their partner. My wife seems to be very proud that she is the bread winner for her entire family and can help each and every one of them in some way. Life is a like a box of chocolates and sometimes we are just a golden ticket to win the factory that makes that box.

Wow what a story G man. A complete roll reversal. Unbelievable to me that your good lady wife prefers to the U.S. to her home country. Did this all kick off many moons ago, like before you decided to build a home in Phil ? My heart goes out to you , stay strong and keep on rocking down that rocky road, going on to the bitter end, when Christ will reveal His glory in us!

I'm the same age as you, and am going through a similar thing -- a marriage that isn't really a marriage and hasn't been for over 10 years. SO, I'm looking at the Philippines as a possible exit strategy to work out the last third or quarter of my life. My wife isn't a bad person, in fact she's probably a better person than I am in most ways. Seems there comes a time when you simply can't make the other person happy and the best you can do is to not make them miserable. Still trying to figure out what that looks like

Thanks for sharing G, very very good heart-felt video, relationships are always challenging, perhaps some time apart may be a good thing. Sometimes the grass looks greener but doesn't turn out to be. Whichever way it goes Ruby and I wish you internal peace and happiness. We are in Cebu now and coming back in a few days, let me know via pm if there's anything you need me to pick up from here to bring back. Look forward to seeing you my friend.
