Girl, I am 17 and I have never been pregnant. But I was overweight and struggled a lot with the way my body looked. I went from 175 pounds to 129 because of you. My doctor told me to not do any extreme dieting(Mediterranean Diet). But I had to move for 1 hour a day, doing your dance and walking workouts truly helped me. Although I’m a muscle mommy now, I still do your workouts on a fairly regular basis because they will always hold a special place in my heart. Have a blessed day!❤️

Thank you for this video . I am 33 and my third little girl just turned one . I’ve been down and so sad because prior to having her I lost 30 pounds . I feel upset that I gained it all back even though I am so happy to have had a surprise baby I feel like “ great I have to start all over again” and now I can’t find the motivation. But baby steps and Grace. God bless you !

I definitely can relate, especially being a Pilates & Essentrics teacher. But after each pregnancy, multiple surgeries, and Covid, I was a beginner. But as I write these words, I feel amazing as I worked my way from beginner to advanced, but I allowed myself the time to heal and move 💪🏽

At 22 I was in a serve car accident, and I broke my pelvis in 3 places. Was on a walker, then a cane. Before this I was running daily, biking you name it. Then I was 22 on a walker. It took a lot of work and the will of God to get through it. Im 24 now and I can walk, I can dance, bike, all the things. Im working slowly back to it. All praise to God. I just started your videos because I used to work out to a lot of worldly songs.. and I wanted more than that so I came and typed in gospel work out videos. Just like God knew there was a need and sent Jesus, there was a need in KZbin community for gospel dance workout videos. Thank you for following that leading. Praying healing over you and for a safe pregnancy for you. God bless.

“We’re not beginners just once on our life journey. We are beginners multiple times.” That was a powerful statement and really spoke to me. 11 minutes in and I don't know why this makes me so emotional to watch... With my last pregnancy I had gained over 70 lbs from being on bedrest. Family members were thoughtless, saying things like I finally lost that perfect girly shape and wasn't skinny anymore. My body really changed and it was so hard to bounce back. My feelings and thoughts were written off as just being shallow and as if I was making a big deal out of nothing - to just accept it as you get older and have children it's a natural part of life to gain weight and it happens to most women, so get over it. I don't think people realize how much it can affect your mental health when you feel like you have no control over your own body. Thank you so much for sharing. You're validating so many women who need it. 💖

this month I'm celebrating my one year of being consistent with Jo and it's been the most amazing journey. One of her videos appeared on my recommended section and I just tried it out. I fell in love with her energy and I promised myself I'd stay consistent, and here I am. I started off with no diet, just plain 20, maybe 30 minutes of exercising everyday for the first month. I quickly started to see results, I was feeling more confident and good about myself and that allowed me to start working on my diet. One year later, I exercise 5 days a week with Jo and have 2 days of active recovery. I lost about 19 kilograms and many, many inches, reaching my goal. Thank you Jo

This is so true. I'm much older and my babies are in their 20's but going through menopause has been my most recent "beginner" phase. Eating and workouts and weight loss are so different at this stage. I tell every mom to be "take care of yourself" while you're pregnant. I also think it is so hard the longer you hold that weight to get rid of it. Love your videos thank you!!

I have never had children, but at 40 I struggle to lose even 5lbs in 3 months 😢 its incredibly discouraging to not see any changes after fighting this battle for 2 years. So, I have tried to shift my focus to how it makes me feel mentally when I workout and eat those nutritious meals, and maybe one day I will feel comfortable in my own skin again 🙏❤

A woman shouldn't labour over 10hrs it's torture and not safe for the baby either then at the end we still go under the knife ... I experienced it for my first 3 days of preeclampsia with severe pain and after 3days of stimulation and induction I finally went under the knife and it was just a few mins😢 So no 10hrs is even too much 🙄

Yeah, don't let your fear of gaining weight keep you from having kids. And don't rush to lose it. Let your body heal. It took about a year and a half for my body to get back normal. But every woman is different. Some it's less or more time. Once you figure out what works for you and you put in the effort you'll lose the weight. 😊❤ And I was 35 when I had my first. 37 with my second.

I'm 50, menopausal and for the last 3 years I did none of my favourite moving activities, namely dancing and swimming. Jo's workouts, which I stumbled across 2 months ago, which was when I decided to get active again, were the first workouts I truly truly enjoyed. I loathe the gym, have no patience for yoga, etc etc. I haven't measured my weight loss in kgs, only by the fit of my clothes. Never thought I could get my waistline back during menopause but it came back, thanks to Jo's workouts being the very opposite of boring 😊 it's so nice to know of others in the same age group going through similar experiences. 👍

I’m so happy to have found you. I’m currently 26 and have been through 2 missed miscarriages within a year. The 2nd one being just last month. I lost 50+ pounds before I got married and pregnant with my daughter (currently 2). I did NOTHING to lose it, didn’t eat healthy and was so mean to myself. After my 2nd miscarriage, I was done. I needed to treat myself better. I needed to be better, if not for me, for my daughter and hopefully another baby in the future. I started working out, eating better after I got the OK from my doctor and I feel so much better. It’s only been a little under a month but I’m down 15 pounds with the help of your videos. Your videos allowed me to LOVE working out again. Thank you so much for sharing your story and inspiring us in so many ways. I look forward to more videos and connecting with you that all these other moms are doing as well.

I had my daughter May 2020 via C Section & I too felt like a failure because I didn’t give vaginal birth. I gave birth to my other daughter Nov 2022 and was able to complete my pregnancy by vaginal birth. During this pregnancy, I gave it my all. I prayed more so ever than before, exercised with my toddler, went on walks but most importantly believed that I could do this with God on my side. I told my doctors that having another C Section was NOT a option for me 😅. Now I’m currently working out to your videos and remembering to be consistent this time around. I’m working out 3 to 4 times a week with rest days in between and I definitely feel a difference this time around ❤. THANK YOU JO for your infectious smile & energy you put into your videos! I was 187lbs at 4'11. I was getting down on myself for feeling sluggish and just not being active/productive especially during PMS. I knew walking helps as it helped me in my teenage years. I started doing your workouts 2 weeks ago. This saturday will make week 3. I started by doing the dance workouts because they were only 15min. Then about mid week last week I started to double them or find a 20min slowly pushing myself. Now I have 1 day out the week where I challenge myself. I haven't looked at the scale yet cause i feel it's too early, and plus, i dont want to. My thing is to give myself time to progress, so I'll probably end up looking in the new year 😊. Thanks for this Jo and keep doing what you're doing!

Mom of 3, and almost 39 now. Have had 2 c-sections. I’m always skinny, and then overweight, repeat….I’m just so ready now to keep the weight off and maintain, but most of all, being healthy isn’t just working out. It’s what u eat, read, focus on, who your friends are, etc and being spiritually close to God. Imo I want to be healthy all around…I was sluggish and a binge eater for 2 years…I realize now my body craves movement. One day at a time. It’s a lifestyle for sure, not a phase. I’ve also ditched the scale because we are more than just “numbers” focus on how you “feel”. Most days I feel stuck, other days I feel good but one thing I’ve learned: progress not perfection. We got this ladies!!! 🎉🎉 Thanks Jo for sharing your journey with us. 💜

In addition, his oxygen level would decline to almost zero along with each contraction. It has been 2and a half years since and I am still trying to find the light, hope and motivation. I will remember that I am not alone and it is important to start small. I get overwhelmed with embarrassment every time I look in the mirror, I have gained about 80 pounds. I gave birth with a emergency c-section in April 2022 and a few months ago I started with your workouts. I did only 10 minutes a day for a time, then 20, then 30 and now I often workout for an hour. There are many workouts on KZbin but when I first heared your intro with talking about consistency and everything else it really changed my life. You also help me healing. The day of giving birth and the time after it was a big trauma for me and now I feel like I‘m coming back to myself. I‘m so thankful for your words and videos. ❤

I found you last year around my birthday. I have been wanting to start working out after I gave birth to my second son in 2021. I night weaned him and my weight just skyrocketed as if I was 3rd trimester pregnant. I found other KZbinrs before you but they were already super fit. I'm so glad I found you because you are relatable. We are both moms trying to find ourselves again after giving birth. I have been doing your KZbin workouts since then. Just few days ago my dad told me that I looked like I have lost some weight. It's true! I lost around 7-8 kg already doing only your workouts plus taking care of my nutrition. Some days I do the 20 minutes exercises but mostly the 10 minutes ones. But the point is being consistent. Ahh I want to give you a hug! Thank you so much Jo!

Feeling like I am so far away from where I was/where I want to be has been one of the hardest mental battles. The guilt and shame of once being thin and very fit weighs on me a lot. Because of eating disorders, depression, and anxiety, I went from underweight to overweight very quickly and nothing inside or out feels like me anymore, like I'm inside a suit I can't take off. I beat myself up for it and blame myself and it worsens the depression. I feel like I'm at the bottom of a mountain that I have no hope of ever climbing. When you said we're not beginners just once in our lives, but several times, that actually made me tear up a little. It took some of that pressure I put on myself off. Like, maybe it's ok that I can't exercise for hours like I used to anymore right now. Maybe it's ok to just do what I can for now. Thank you for your inspiring video. Our journeys are different but you've shared that no matter what you're going through you just keep trying. I think I'll try to do a workout today, even if it's small and short

This is incredible and so inspiring. I've been watching your videos for a while and already seeing changes and this made me love them even more; you might be the only workout channel person on KZbin who really understands what it's like to start as a beginner and continually hate how you look even after weeks and months of showing up. I appreciate your insight and your good energy, thank you so much for this channel!

Jo 😭😭😭 this hit hard! A few years ago I was at ease with my body, running everyday and eating healthy. I went through some tough seasons and depression and trauma and put on so much weight. Mentally I feel like I should be further cause I was comparing myself to a previous version on me. I’m accepting that I’m a beginner again. Thank you ❤

“I am so much more than what my body looks like.” Thank you Jo, I needed to hear that. Hearing that made me shed a tear. I am 6 months PP with my precious baby boy. I struggled as a teen with anorexia. It was difficult to see how my body changed after my birth. I lost 90% of the weight incorporating your workouts, I do them together with my husband😬 I still struggle shedding those last few pounds. I actually cried the other day seeing I gained 2 lbs (probably water weight considering it was within 1 day). But I have come so far, from being practically inactive during my pregnancy due to extreme fatigue & GI issues.. to working out 5 days a week for at least 45 minutes. Feeling stronger everyday. Thank you Jo❤️

Thank you for being so candid! I’ve been able to start working out again thanks to your videos. I have never sweat like I have been in your classes. It feels so good! I can’t say thank you enough for your content and putting yourself out there. You are amazing, encouraging, and truly an inspiration. I suffer from ADHD and it impacts my life in so many ways, and one of the things I face is seeing the world black or white, in other words, all or nothing thinking. So my entire life I have dealt with starting things, exercising, hobbies, and stopped half way because if I missed one day that meant I failed, or couldn’t do it. It’s been a journey steering from that mentality but it is my default and has been for so many years. All of that to say, your content helps keep me engaged, focused, and the way your videos are structured hits all my ADHD check boxes that accommodate my senses to keep going. Your videos are fun, interactive, uplifting, and once I complete the workout it feels like a reward. This is the first time in over a decade where I have been able to stay consistent with working out and I actually look forward to doing it, which is also very new for me. So, THANK YOU! I can’t wait to share my progress with you some time from now. Wishing you the best. Giuliana

Thank you so much for every video you make and the heart that goes into each one. I began my health journey 3 years ago after my mom passed. I found your videos at just the right time. You helped me hurdle so many things in my mind and learn how to adjust exercise to my body’s needs. Two months ago, while lifting weights, I hurt my back and had to start over at the beginning just like you said. Half of it was mental and the other half was my body but I was able to turn to your videos again. Thank you for your faithfulness in helping people get started and stay consistent.

Reteaching myself how to exercise after being an athlete has been one of the hardest things I've ever done. Thanks for sharing your story. At 190 lbs, I'm at my heaviest in my life, but I work out 6 days a week. I walk 60 miles a week. I do barre 3 to 4 times weekly. I hardly have an appetite, but I've been stuck at 190 for months. I've noticed minor changes on my body but still feel 50 lbs overweight. It's so difficult to feel like I'm making any progress whatsoever. Your video helps me feel better about this slow progress.

So many people make it sound like it's just a lack of hard work, when in reality, no one's body will ever be the same, and some people may never lose that belly that so many of of wish would disappear! I'm really glad that you mentioned feeling like you were starting over and prioritizing your mental health, as well! I am 41. I have had 3 kids and have always been fat. I was a fat kid. Fat through school. Fat during my pregnancies. But always have been very active. Hiking, camping, horse back riding, bike riding. I tried all kinds of diets with no real results. Doctors brushed me off. Telling me to work harder, eat less. I was down to eating 800 calories a day. I was so weak and exhausted all the time. I finally decided no more. I decided to love my self and my body. I eat what I want, when I want. I also move my body. I love your work outs. I continue to hike and camp. To jet ski and swim. Biking and walking. I want everyone to remember to love themselves and do what they can. This is such a wonderful and non judgemental place. Thank you for creating this space.
