This was a nice video. My suggestion to everyone no matter what their goals are is to get enough sleep, intermittent fast, drink lots of water, take vitamins/supplements, & practice the 80/20 rule. The 80/20 rule is really helpful to me. I noticed that when I restrict too much I'm more likely to binge. I still eat what I want, but only occasionally. I don't count calories or weigh myself that often, & I'd recommend that anyone with a history of disordered eating and/or obsessive thoughts about food & weight loss not do these things either. All of these things (including working out with Jo as often as I can) have been helpful to me, so I hope that they can help y'all too! 💚

What is the 80/20 rule?
@enjoyoutside3 жыл бұрын
@@mabelayala9495 I wondered too and found this on the internet: "Pushing hard all the time is a bad strategy for reaching your fitness goals. That's why top-tier endurance athletes train using the 80/20 method, which has them work at a low intensity 80 percent of the time and a moderate to high intensity for the remaining 20 percent of their workouts."
@shaearnelle3 жыл бұрын
@@mabelayala9495 it's basically where 80% of the time you eat healthy & according to your diet. The other 20% of the time you eat whatever you want, but in moderation/occasionally.

Hi, Jo! I am trying to lose my belly fat, post partum. I have been doing IF,but trying to experiment what works for me.For now, I have my 6AM-12 until 1PM feasting time. I have incorporated your workouts since Sunday. It is a struggle to wake up early,and do a lot of stuff before going to work,but weight and health goals are my motivations.I am slowly eliminating processed food,and so far I have influenced my husband. We went to the grocery and he realized that we did not buy instant noodles! Huge win for us, because we have put our son in a healthy way of eating but us parents were completely opposite. 😅. Baby steps are the key. And yes,sometimes,you need to push yourself. My strategy is to list down what I ate in a day,and see what I can do better the next day. Although the list is sometimes on paper,I just recall them in case I forgot to write them down. It's a conscious effort for me on this, one day at a time. Thank you for your sharing your workout,by the way. So far,not stressed/strained. ❤️❤️❤️

This was a super helpful video! Nutrition and diet have always been super intimidating for me. I'm trying to be more mindful about what I'm eating throughout the day but I try to be careful when counting calories/tracking because I worry that I might obsess over it. I've found that I don't like to restrict what I eat/fast because then I wind up starving. But I also don't enjoy cooking so that makes it things harder for me. I've always had a bad snacking habit, which I'm trying hard to quit but otherwise I've been trying to eat smaller portions, avoid processed foods and eat more nutritious meals that leave me more full. I'm still learning about what works for my body since I'm still relatively new to this.

Thank you for sharing! I am a new subbie, and had a question about “the hormonal belly”. Between Covid, and peri-menopause, I have put on so much weight; especially around my mid section. I eat pretty good. I am pescatarian, I juice every 3 days, but need to lose this weight.

Juicing takes out some needed fiber from my understanding. I'm in peri as well and have all of this new tummy. Like super crazy appetite I never had before. Smoothies keep your fiber. That's the route I'm taking to get my veggies and supplements in. This hormonal belly is so much worse than a post pregnancy belly imo. Discouraging for sure. I'm trying DIM and a womans 40 and over multivitamin. Tired of losing 5 gaining 10. I'm shooting for a combo of low carb, IF and 80/20, water water water, strength training and moderate impact cardio. Praying the mirror keeps me motivated. 🤭 Best wishes.

Calorie counting helps me stay on track otherwise it’s very easy to over consume. And I eat carbs! 😂 Definitely could not go without carbs. As long as I’m in a calorie deficit, why restrict carbs? ☺️

Carbs are not the enemy 😅 I love carbs ❤️

ahah very true! Carbs are a macro nutrient that you can lower when dieting, you do not have to restrict them however.
