MY BEST CHICKEN FRIED CHICKEN || with the BEST GRAVY ❤️

This CHICKEN FRIED CHICKEN is comfort food at it’s best, your family will run to the table for it, lol! Well I always did, it’s just that good. This is one hearty meal that I think everybody loves because it’s definitely a stick to your ribs kind of meal. I pick out boneless chicken breasts, but you can use thighs if you prefer, I slice the breast in half lengthwise then pound them fairly thin about 1/2 inch or so because you don’t want them so thick that they don’t cook well from the center. You want them to cook evenly so it’s important that they are uniform in size, I love to side them with mashed potatoes and a good veggie, I picked green beans. You want to make sure that your meat is dry before breading it if you want your coating to stick well. Gravy will complete this amazing chicken fried chicken, and mine is a winner. I hope you give this recipe a try.❤️
INGREDIENTS ____________
1 Boneless chicken breast (about 3/4 lb)
about 1/2 inch thick
3/4 C. All purpose flour
3/4 tsp onion powder
3/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
1/4 tsp Baking powder
1/4 tsp Baking soda
1 tsp parsley flakes
1 tsp Paprika
Pepper to your liking
Salt (about 1/2 to 3/4 tsp) you decide
1 C. Vegetable oil
EGG MIXTURE _______________
1 large egg
3/4 C. Buttermilk
GRAVY____________________
2 Tbsp Bacon grease
2-3 Tbsp flour mixture used for breading (i used 3 Tbsp)
2 C. Milk
Salt to your liking
Pepper to your liking

Another fabulous recipe! I love this kind of meal. Comfort food at its best. With all my breaded meats after I bread I put them on a rack and let them sit for about ten minutes before frying. It really helps to keep the breading on the meat and not in your skillet! I love your seasoning for the flour. Thanks Rachel 🐓🍗

.... I let my breaded Meats rest on wax paper, on a plate in the Refrigerator at least ten minutes... this " seals " the breading/ coating .. you can do it in the freezer as well, about 5 minutes. ..My Grandmother taught me this. 🙂

Hi Rachel, I love your cooking. I am in VA and cook most of the meals. I laugh when you say "This is an easy recipe" and if I want to make it, I have to run to the supermarket where I can't find all the the ingredients, then I have to cut up the veggie's that I could find, use most of the pans, bowls, utensils I own, and raid the spice racks. Rachel, thank you for not only a hearty chicken recipe, but an easy one! I was pleasantly surprised to see you using bacon grease. I have always been taught to keep a container of bacon grease, as it is a delicious addition to soups as well. Rachel. I'm from Texas and salivate over everything you cook!! Your directions are easy to follow. Try what my Mom taught me on mashed potatoes >>> boil potatoes then mash with salted butter, salt and pepper and condensed (not sweetened!) milk. I also used canned milk in my gravy. You are so much fun to watch. My ex was from San Antonio. His mother prepared food similar to yours. To me, her dishes weren't exactly Mexican, so I called them Texically good. You have made me remember how delicious it was. I remember the sweetness of her voice. The only good thing about that relationship was watching her cook so authentically and with so much love. Your recipes are ,as you say, wonderful, and so are you!
