My Bills and Company Goals Don't Care If It's Cold: It's Separation Season

This is the time of year to level up a dumpster and junk removal company. Welp, really any type of entrepreneur can level up this time of year with their small business or side hustle.
While your competition starts to hibernate and live of their nest egg the set aside for their "slow time" of the year. You can push up that hill a little harder and separate your business from theirs.
This may look like the amount of work you take on despite the weather or holidays. It could be the investments you tackle, or the process you improve while you have the opportunity to tackle them.
Maybe it's adding a cold seasson service you start to grow every season, or possibly a house you bought in the fall that now you have the time to flip, and offset your income.
Maybe you break into a different software system, or buy another piece of excavating equipment to perfect your operator skills, before tackling client projects.
The possibilities are out there, but you just have to find them and want them. You have to want to grow in the cold seasson, and not accept that it can be a less profitable time of year.

I was completely unmotivated this morning to get up on a day off and take care of things on the exterior of the house. Turned on KZbin, you were suggested. I watched this video then magically felt motivated, seven hours later I am done and took three things off the list. Subscribed

He's been a great asset, and an amazing first full-time guy. They are out there, and each one requires something different to stay engaged and valued. I could probably do a marathon of videos about things I've picked up about keeping an employee happy and engaged. And I'm not saying I'm really that good at it. he's also just a good employee. But I do try to make sure he enjoys what he's doing while also making sure he's getting what we need done. It's a balance for sure, but there is a lot about employee planning and psychology out there that can help! Also, just making sure your team can mesh well. It really is true that one bad apple can ruin a bunch. Something I hope never to deal with.

A proper trailer 7 way will have a 30 or 40 amp battery charge wire in it. Add an auto resetting circuit breaker (slightly under sized) to this wire to prevent a dead battery from pulling too many amps. Merry Christmas!

Hand sprayer with a mixture of a little oil and diesel, do a fine mist on the floor and a foot up on the wall or so and it does WONDERS for frozen cans.

Hey Clayton, I thought of you today, I was traveling back home after grabbing a meal out and on the tollway, saw a truck/trailer and Kubota excavator, but the first thing I noticed was how tall the top of the Kubota was and then when I made it past some traffic, the Kubota was on top of what appeared to be sections of wood fence, at least 4 layers of wood, which raised up the overall height about 12" from trailer to actual Kubota, which really put that center of gravity really high! I know you wouldn't do this, but wanted to get your take on it? He did have the Kubota chained down, looks like at several points, wish I could have grabbed a picture, but I was a couple of lanes over and worrying about traffic myself in Dallas! Thoughts on the safety aspect, I don't think this to me looked safe at all and I've driven trailers, but nothing like a flatbed and Kubota on top. Thanks and really enjoy the channel and your hustle! Brian

Yea that's wild! Sadly I've seen that before. Or my favorite is when someone loads their skid back into a dump trailer, but the dum trailer is full of dirt. So they drive it on the dirt and it's sitting 3 feet higher with no straps. Oddly I've seen that a couple times

@rollingops
@rollingops 7 ай бұрын
@@Flokiboys I've def seen guys do it! But if the business blows up, you will wish you had a way to "dump it" so you don't have to handle the trash twice. But I've thought about some creative ways to empty a box truck without actually having to touch the junk a second time. That's your goal, to be as efficient as possible, but at a reasonable cost, as to have the highest balance of efficiency and roi

Those little Dewalt air compressors with a big battery are super nice and easy when your tires are low. I invested in one and use it so much. So easy to just brake it out, set the PSI, and let it fill up. Takes more time then an air compressor but it’s very easy and you can stick it in your back seat. Think it was $150. Best investment so far for me lol. I used to carry a air compressor too just for that reason but always needed bed space.

Do you price differently for builders/contractors. How do you price for projects like in this video?
@rollingops
@rollingops 7 ай бұрын
Something like this, I will do a flat swap out rate and will also charge tonnage. It's very similar for residential, but I will charge slightly higher for "priority" projects where the contractor needs things done day of or next day for an extended amount of time. Because that means I'm likely running another truck just to keep the happy and on schedule.
