"how do you get self esteem?" "easy you just have to do it before you're 14" like a shotgun to the stomach

If you’re 15 at this point, I’d suggest setting goals and reaching them, goals that don’t require another persons verification. That builds a lot of confidence, even if the goal is to make diamonds in LoL.

And if youre 24 like myself you are pretty much fucked because you hated yourself for the better part of the last decade and can only find comfort in building your profession. Which is made even more difficult because you have no confidence in yourself and arent able to build lasting professional contacts.

@@Semesty Don't take what Destiny said about that question as fact, it was just a tongue-in-cheek answer. If you're going through self esteem issues, make a habit of doing positive self-affirmations, set short term goals on personal enrichment (from living healthier to learning new skills), and actively work on strengthening your social skills with people in your everyday life. As uncomfortable as it might feel or be at times, always remember that you have the power to build yourself up just as much as you have the potential to bring yourself down. You are your greatest ally and at the same time worst enemy, the only question after realizing this is what do you really want to do in this life, and pursue those desires to the fullest.

This is why u NEVER EVERRRRE do the "sure we'll be FRIENDS" guys don't know what this means. They think "sure we'll be friends, she'll see how good I am and doesn't have to be w horrible guys anymore" No, once u step into that you'll never come out unless it's MANY YEARS LATER and she's messed up, old, prolly has children by then and ur getting scraps. She doesn't even want u tbh ur just the BACKUP help Incase another guy comes along then it's the "I tried were just friends". They get use to u being friends that's her normal. She just isn't seeing u THAT WAY. ur trying to force it. If u do the friend thing you'll spend all ur time and money taking her out, hearing her stories of guys she shucked off won't text anymore, guys she let do it and won't text her back. Trying to make her stop crying etc. And u get NOTHIIIIIIIIING for it. Ur just some safety net she doesn't like or respect. The second she feels better (thanks to you) she's gone and "too busy" for u. What if YOU'RE kinda down? Well "friend.." tough luck! Ur on ur own! It's not ever a two way street. If anything she may say "oh just get them flowers, now back to MYYYYYY story" Her advice never works ever. It's just some words to say is all. So she can get back to HER story and YOU give advice that works. Point is it's all bad all around. Plus they like the idea of having a guy around that likes them and watches her have fun with ANOTHER GUY. the whole "he likes me and jealous hee hee hee". 🙄 It gives them VALUE. if no guy was jealous and NO GUY was after her, she'd feel very value less. Prolly not feel very pretty as well. Don't play the game man. The longer ur around that being her FRIEND the worse it is for u. It's self torture. Just say hey it's this or NOTHING. don't ever do the one way street just to make someone feel better that doesn't like u, nor cares about u. U have to have the "it's this or NOTHING" approach. Take ur loss and move on man. Sure it can be hard but it's harder if u stay and watch all that and hear the stories. Bc u imagine those things happening to her.

About "You have to love yourself before others can love you" thingy. Self-esteem, self-acceptance, self-love, self-confidence and all that is fine and healthy but i find it annoying and quite unhealthy to hear so much stuff about "You are perfect the way you are!" and all the other crap that is going around. People seem to forget the importance of self-improvement. You are never perfect. You never know it all. You can always improve yourself, educate yourself even further and become a better person. Accepting yourself doesn't mean that you ignore your shortcomings or convince yourself that you don't have any.
@readneuromancerbywilliamgi6761
@readneuromancerbywilliamgi6761 3 жыл бұрын
When people say that, it's a total misunderstanding of the love yourself sentiment. Love yourself means that you need to come to terms with who you are for better or worse, you have to accept the flaws about yourself that might not be your most optimal feature, but it's a feature none the less. Like for example, some people have the ability to speak to women in this semi-James Bond strong silent type thing, where they have this real serious look on their face but the girl is digging it. You might be a silly person who tends to goof off and laugh off a lot of things, make jokes of things, but you see some other guys doing the James Bond approach, and you think to yourself that your approach is inferior and flawed, theirs is what you need to imitate, so you try to change your whole personality and it comes off so cringe and unnatural when you try to do it to women. That's not being OK with yourself. Being OK with yourself means that you accept your approach because it's you in your element, you're really good at it, and for some women it will fail, and for others who would hate the James Bond guy, you are what they're looking for. That's what it means to be OK with yourself and love yourself, not to treat yourself as perfect but to accept yourself for better or worse.

@@readneuromancerbywilliamgi6761 ye, i'd actually argue that you can never truly "improve" yourself (at least not in ways you will ultimately be happy with) without learning to love/accept yourself. people treat these things as if they're totally different, but to be a truly authentic person they HAVE to be interlinked or the disconnect will prevent you from acutalizing and coming into your own personality and being

@Reptilezionofaramouru adre Not the main driver at all, at least it wasn't in my relationship. Not to say that it doesn't matter because that would be ridiculous. Looks matter but to say that it's the main drive and parade it as some sort of universal rule is silly, and mainly a projection on how you feel. The woman can be the hottest being in existence, if she doesn't share things in common with me and she isn't herself attracted towards me, then I can't even get my dick up. I'd rather take some physical flaws in exchange for a nicer personality and shared interests, than some bimbo full of make-up with a tanned body that has air between her ears. I tried installing dating apps, and it's how I ended up swiping left 95% of the women despite being attractive or just fine looking. The only ones I swiped left based on appearance were either obese or had a comically large nose, and they were a small percentage. The problem with the 21'st and 20'th centuries, is that television, ads, the internet and other media nonsense brainwashed people into having ridiculous standards. Not that people are late at discovering that "looks matter the most". Here's your real, vantablack pill.
@crepooscul
@crepooscul 3 жыл бұрын
@Buck Dewey Eh, I'm no longer in that relationship, it lasted like 1-2 years. It was nice, but to be honest, it made me realize that I would hate to end up with someone super long term that will always be around me. For some reason my brain is really demanding a lot of "me time" constantly. But thank you. I do believe that I was also the outlier. My main point was that we were brainwashed as a society to have ridiculous standards, not that this is how the human mind naturally is. I believe this is a recent thing in human history, and standards used to be much lower.

I agree. If there's a friend that turned you down romantically and you aren't 100% positive you can deal with that, cut it off completely. It'll hurt, but it's better for both people. You don't continue to get hurt and you can move on and the other person doesn't have to deal with trying to maintain a friendship where they have to be careful and worry about hurting you or worry if you're still interested.

But, if you're a fat whale, I'm sorry, I'm gonna notice the fucking weight problem before I notice the prada or dior you're wearing before anything else lmao. If you have calves and thighs, some natural squish and smell nice, that kinda hijacks my male ape brain. All those things can be obtained by pretty much anyone with some training. But if I remember correctly, and based on what you are saying, he was more like "get a shave, shower and dress decently", in that case I agree that 9 is pretty ludicrous.

I'm straight as well, lol did I come off as gay? 💀 It's alr tho. I noticed I didn't outrightly say it, but I do believe it is possible to become a 9. Looks are subjective, but character isn't imo. 17:56 Breadwinner thing : men don’t need to have families as much as society tends to impose on women. plus there’s a good chance nowadays that not only are you the breadwinner but so is your wife. minority and poor women have always has to work for thier families also.

Yeah I just don’t agree that in this day and age women dont need to “have their lives together” or aren’t looked down on for being jobless or not having an education. And if it were true, I don’t get how it’s a good thing - like no matter what you do as a woman, if you’re a waitress or a doctor you will be viewed the same way because people don’t care about your achievements or mind but just how you look. I also think men tend to have an exaggerated perception of how desirable being totally reliant on another person financially is. Maybe it seems more desirable to them because a man being totally financially reliant on a woman probably wouldn’t be in as dangerous a situation than a woman totally reliant on a man would be if the relationship turns abusive.

Yep I felt like that has only been true for a portion of white women. Most of the WOC in my life are expected to be both. Breadwinner and still perfect housewife. POC always have to be working hard to survive. Then women are also not trusted enough to gain the jobs they need to become more independent. So there’s a lot more nuance to it.

"men's expectations of women's looks are too high" This is a STUNNINGLY bad take. Go ahead and look at dating app data, the vast majority of men swipe on anything from a 3 or 4 to 10s. Women on the other hand ALMOST EXCLUSIVELY swipe on the top 20 percent of men, with exponentially increasing swipes on the top 10 to 5 percent. This matters because dating apps are literally the way most couples meet in 2022. Women have high beauty standards for THEMSELVES AND OTHER WOMEN. Insanely bad take.

Dating Apps are not a representation of reality. This is what so many blackpillers get wrong. It's very distorted just by being mainly populated by males. A 3:1 Ratio (which is typical for dating apps) means women can ignore the bottom 2/3 of men completely and still find someone. Men would behave exactly the same if put on a dating app where 3 desperate women were searching for every man. Obviously on a dating app that prioritizes looks, people will go for the best looking person they can find, both men and women do this. Men swipe on everything because they feel like they have no other options, and will go empty handed if they don't date down 1 or 2 points.

@@yosefshekelberg5433 The analysis isn't "Women have high standarts". That's an overgeneralization. The analysis is: "If you put women in a situation where they have an abundance of men to choose from, they adopt higher standarts" which is literally what everybody does with everything, not just dates. Same effect in reverse for men. Also, just because a slight majority meets over OLD, does that mean you can't meet people otherwise? Second, just because most swipes go the top 20%, doesn't mean none go to the rest. It's enough to have one match that turns into a relationship, 100 matches doesn't mean your chances are that much better. The top 20% aren't the only people who get into relationships from OLD and when women who aren't in the top 20% want a relationship they necessarily have to look at the other 80% of men.

@@JohnDoe-jp4em Cope. None of this is true, you're literally copeing so hard it's almost inspiring. First of all, you're assertion that men, when provided with choice, will be pickier, is false. Even men in the 90th percentile swipe on women well below their level of attractiveness. This is observed not only in online dating but in everyday life. Men are biologically programmed to spread their genes, this results in finding more women attractive than not. Two, if youve ever looked at ANY dating app data in regards to female swipes to male profiles, there is an EXPONENTIAL increase in swipes starting from the top 20-15 percent and going on EXPONENTIALLY from there. Similarly, when women were asked to rate thousands of male profiles, virtually ZERO men were rated as "extremely attractive." Out of thousands. This is further evidence that women are extremely critical of looks, much more so than men. Third, if the majority of people meet with dating apps and these problems exist, they absolutely will have deleterious effects on society and demographics going forwards. So this discussion absolutely SHOULD be talked about, not simply brushed away because because the majority of those affected are men and people could not care less about issues than affect men these days. You can cope all you want, for any man who's used dating apps long term, these things are self evident. The problem is that you cannot simply dismiss this technology, meeting in person is not nearly as simple as it used to be. Let's see the problems presented for a young man trying to meet a woman in the real world. The majority of young women hold beliefs that they should be afraid of a male strangers, out the gate, the man is at likely to fail. Most vast majority of young women are on some form of social media, where they are already getting attention and validation from men of all types. This further causes them to insulate themselves in real life. Why respond to a stranger when there's ten other guys who you have already vetted or met and provide you with attention. What does all this result in? Never before seen numbers of people not in relationships. Never before seen numbers of VIRGIN MALES and men who haven't had sex in years. Notice I said MEN. Womens overall sexual activity rate hasn't changed, at all. Again, this means there's going to be issues down the road, but there's always people like you who can't see past their own fickle dismissiveness.

When I turned 18 and went to college, I had a thing for older women. And I had no problem finding women who had not married yet and who wanted to date a younger guy. But the catch is that usually cougars are embarrassed to be with younger guys publicly. And it makes dating awkward.
