1000%, it was extremely refreshing for me being more aligned towards the right wing, because my perception of lefties was embodied by the delusional-detached from reality leftists that get amplified on social media. Once I saw how reasonable and logic driven Destiny was, that kept me around as a viewer and made me realize most left leaning people are a lot more tethered to reality then the media lead me to believe. This conversation gives me hope. So many great points and great topics in this conversation.

@socially unacceptable It's because we're not used to it. Most women have so many options to choose from and if I'm not particularly a Henry Cavil lookalike, there's no good reason for a female to approach me, so my knee-jerk reaction would be to imply that something is up, and I'm about to get scammed or robbed. It is a prejudice, because I'm making a judgement of character without context, but that's the way many of us protect ourselves from getting played. It's a sad state of affairs, but it is what it is.

I am a woman who has approached men and have been rejected. I felt horrible at that moment, but later on you just forget it. In a way I can sympathize with men when they call woman ugly after getting rejected when they did go for the uglier girl because they thought that they can score, however enough though I been in a similar situation and felt I should have called him ugly, I didn't. So, even though I can understand where that comes from, I do not think there is a reason to go that low.

Man this conversation felt EXTREMELY GRATIFYING TO WATCH, because it highlights so perfectly why I hate how the internet deals with men/men's issues. On one side you have the red pill/right-wing/ MRA MGTOW dudes who acknowledge very real mens issues before using it as a way to start sexist anti- women messaging/propaganda. While the very online left just doesn't give a fuck, they always say they do, but they straight up don't and in fact if you try to bring them up as a lefty you usually get called and incel weirdo and always like to do the whole men are evil, men are trash bull shit. So one side uses mens issues as a way to push their sexist bullshit while the otherside just doesn't give a damn out side of the tired trotted out feminist line "FEMINISM IS FOR MEN TOO BECAUSE MEN CAN'T CRY OR SHOW EMOTION DUE TO THE PATRIACHY" (don't get me wrong that is all very true but mens issues go far beyond we can't cry or show emotion lol).
@lonewaer
@lonewaer 2 жыл бұрын
The left side of it is why I separated myself completely from womanism. Let me rephrase that : I was a womanist, and womanism red pilled me. I pointed out one contradiction in a discussion, and was met with "you're the problem", to which I responded "alright, fuck you to you too". It was a last straw kind of thing, but still. Now I'm in a phase where if womanists want me to acknowledge their (actual) issues, I will have conditions first. The struggle now for me is to not over correct and swing to the complete other end of the pendulum, because like Aba said, the RP brings up things that are very true, and actually impossible to deny if one is honest with data presented, and that nobody else talks about. The struggle is basically "how far is too far ?", and it's not that simple. Anything the RP acknowledges is considered sexist by the left, but factually it's not. What some do with it can be actually sexist, yes, but… beyond that this it's just leftist fantasy.

Well, I do see why some people treat it like that. There are men who don't seem very strong and dominant but still get into relationships whilst facing that hardship of not being able to understand what women want and them not ever taking the first step. It's hard but you can make it. Not everyone goes to Jordan Peterson or Joe Rogan. Those people then seem to think these people are somewhat overreacting. I do agree that it's not the right way to deal with it but some of them do address these problems but they don't think that redpill, Jordan Peterson or Joe Rogan are the correct places to go to for this.

Almost every male friend of mine has told me a woman has hit and emotionally abused them. And they just don't see it as a big deal, and are shocked when I react at how disgusting it is that that was done to them. I try and reassure them that it's not normal or acceptable for women to treat men like that, because they very much so just expect that "crazy" girl behavior out of every girl. No a real woman would never hurt their partner, same as a real man never would.

I don't think women should pay "half" for the date if she didn't produce half. Let's say you are at a restaurant; a the guy gets 40 dollars worth of stuff and the girl gets 15 dollars worth of stuff. It wouldn't be fair for both of them to pay "half". Assuming all things equal then I can see both parties paying half but I think that's very unrealistic. Men normally get more food or stuff. Women don't really do that. I think a more simpler approach would be just one person pay for dinner and the other person pay for gas money and they can alternate on different dates.

Yes, people are very self focused, and they usually identify with their genders struggles. Even when others are talking about female struggles all the time and ignoring yours (male experience), it can drive you to extremes. If only people can realize both struggles in different ways. Both sexs have an unfair experience. I hope both genders find a way to champion eachothers fight for change and embrace the other sides issues. If women seen men fighting for their issues and men seen women fight for theirs, there wouldn't be this dichotomy or polarization.

I suspect the reason men are so often checked when dealing with women is because as a class, they're physically bigger, stronger, faster than women. So women as a class are seen to "need" social support. But if a man slaps another man, then it's seen as a physical "equal". But it's the imbalance in physical power that will draw ire. For example, a healthy man in his 20s will be checked if he slaps a man in his 80s, or a man in a wheelchair. Yes, they're all men, but the physical power imbalance is evident. Conversely, if a woman with a gun is in a confrontation with a man with fists, then the physical power is in her favor. To which the question is "is she justified to have/use that gun?" because she is presumed to have started from a lower standing in power.

And that's with someone that I was pretty damn confident was a sure thing (obviously, it worked out), so I do think this is an important conversation in touching on the roles men are supposed to assume and the expectations women have for them - did they make a move, did they try hard enough, did they chase me? We're supposed to live in a world of consent first, but we also have these cat and mouse dating games engrained in us as well, which then makes it impossible to know for sure what is real and what is part of the game.

theres a book called "gender matters" that describes various physical and chemicl differences describing how and why women and men interface with the world differently. i think this book would have been great reading before this post. ex: there's a chapter when it is describes how females, across cultures and even in the chimpanzee species, tend to be more risk averse than males. in a leter chapter, the author describes how mens sexual attraction runs on testosterone, the hormone responsible for risky behavior, aggression, and muscle growth. it also describes how womens sexual drive runs on oxytocin, the chemical responsible for close familial attachment and "love". the chemical differences in how our bodies process attraction and assess risk lead to a circumstance where women are far less likely to take big risks, sexual or otherwise, and are more likely to desire sex if they're 1) ovulating and are super attracted to you or 2) feel a strong attachment. it makes sense that biology heavily influences our mating behaviors on an unconscious level. no matter what balancing agents we take as a society, wed literally have to either make womens arousal run on testosterone or mans arousal run on oxytocin to stop us from wanting different things.

I get the critique of lack of daytime TV shows like "The View" with a target audience of men, but I think that critique ignores context. You have to remember a lot of these shows were incepted when it was more common for women to be at home while men were away at work. Even if some suggested the idea, the networks weren't going to pick up a "The View but for men", because most men would be at work during the hours when it would be on air. EDIT: And even now, with more women in the workplace, women more than men are still more likely to be at home. Thus there isn't a sizeable audience as of yet. In order words, the returns, in terms of viewership, in unlikely to be worth the investment. You gotta remember, the goal of TV networks is profit via ad revenue. It isn't social justice.

@@myagrimm4719 The answer to your question is in your question: most people are at home in the evening. Those shows all suffer from toxic feedback loops and then being honed by sales/marketing to be even more ridiculous for more views. They'll even perpetuate things about attraction that women KNOW isn't true but they still clap. Simple solution, find a big thread of people arguing over something, add your opinion and someone will be there to fight you tooth and nail, or you may find a reasonable person willing to talk. The only thing I can reccomend is avoiding politics, some people are a little too far on their own spectrums and willing to ruin you for step a little too close to the center. Though, people will still assume your political association by your views.

@@defaultlogos2976 Haha See, that's the issue! Because I'm not one to avoid any type of subject matter- I'm actually the one who'll propose the complicated issues and topics. But, I really don't wanna have those conversations or debates with people who are completely unable to be reasonable and take into considerations the grey areas of any topic. I like when a conversation flows smoothly.. Without assumptions or accusations- only a few sentences in or, without the immediate "cancellation" at the first sign of a different opinion then your own etc. Keyboard warriors are often too quick to stick you in a box... They are quick to assume you belong to the "black" team or "white" team and don't acknowledge the possibility of grey- of a middle ground... Or if they do, they don't give it as much validity as a black or white stance. I might be rambling a bit too much but yeah! A male cant come out and say he is being mistreated by a female and be viewed as less then in the light of heterosexual males or females however if a female is mistreated then attention is brought to the issue. The standards are beyond unfair and if we wish to speak of equality then we need to speak of equality for males and females not just one group. Not to speak on just males seeing as I have a daughter now however I also have a son and I do not wish for my child to go through with I did.
