You absolutely do not become dependent on heroin the first time I know people who used for years but they never use it more than 2 days in a row without a big gap between no withdraw Opiate withdraw can kill you but it doesn’t typically only with complications like if you have high blood pressure it’s so uncomfortable that combined with lack of appetite and sleep it can cause heart attack or like if you’re diabetic the vomiting and diarrhea can be a problem all of that will depend on how long opiates have been used or how potent they are opioids are far more potent with addiction because we encountered opiates in nature but opioids are man made

@@LunaticSqad22 is there any chance the guy uses this sort of behavior to provide insight for his viewers who might themselves be resistant to the idea of therapy, thus providing a sort of example of what it looks like for that personality type to warm up towards therapy? I just feel like dude is too articulate to actually believe what he says, and he just plays a character to present a character arc to perhaps model how to change one's own thinking. I'd be interested to hear someone else's thoughts on the matter who knows more about this world.

@@thecat3507 Id guess essentially a therapy session with Dr K talking to Sneaky and doing his best to understand how he thinks and reacts to the world. With Sneako (i haven't watched the vid, but ive seen a bit of sneako and adin and the like and more of dr K) I'd imagine Dr K is doing his best to be as neutral and non-judgemental as possible, which means Dr. K talks about close to none of his own real personal opinions and thoughts in case sneako reacts badly to something random and ruins the trust dr K might have gained. It's pretty much a front, but only to be as nice as possible and try to help sneako as much as he can. Just because something isn't real doesn't mean its any less valuable. You can technically trigger happiness with a couple electrodes in your brain to dispense a couple neurotransmitters, and all your happy reactions you've ever had in your life is just a couple chemicals in your brain firing. It's still happiness no?

Sneako saying at the end: “I hope to see you again soon.” was a highlight and pinpoints why therapy is so important, and why Sneako could definitely benefit from spending time with a professional. He actually enjoyed the experience and was able to process thoughts outside of the echo chamber of his mind to come to more rational conclusions around his own assumptions and beliefs. And that challenge excited him enough to want to learn more about himself from Dr. K.

@Royay I don't have hate for sneako, and while I enjoy listening to Destiny, he doesn't have any serious level of influence on me. I can look back and see a point in my life that I was likely very similar to sneako. Being unwise and young and always at risk of being captured by ideologies is relatable. That being said, people only escape their more bifercated ideologies when they've been backed into a corner by them. Not in a debate, but in the negativity sprung from those beliefs as they manifest in your reality. With sneakos personality, particularly his tendency toward being confrontational and unironically arrogant, it would make dealing with him as infuriating as it would be unproductive. That being said, if you're suggesting I should be more like Dr. K and less like a "Destiny fan" perhaps you should take your own advice and stop being so fucking condescending.

Well, it's kinda his job to be able 😅 Say a patient is paranoid to almost a point of psychosis, you kinda need to be able to veer convos so it isn't a mess where the patient just mayhems over the therapist or psychologist to the point of nothing gained from it. That's is Partly a reason say therapy doesn't help narciccists or antisocial personality disorder (psycho-/sociopathy) having people because otherone is just trying to take hold of the convo and just cannot, isn't able to see any fault in them. That's not gonna work. Other then again just plays games and manipulates, lies and excuses things, doesn't mention key things. Maybe if you are like on the low level spectrum of antisocial, very self-aware and have just the hint of emotion or just think it will make your social life better. So you will go into it earnest. It just isn't possible from the deepest ends, it will so naturally go into the lying/manipulating and seeing it all as being ok. Kinda living in this own world with codes instead of morals and suprise suprise the codes are self-serving even to others detriment.

I guess it takes two points, groups of interest (that you have to seek out, which might be complex depending on where you are) and confidence (second one can only be trained with time), some got this skill and don't even notice, others have to train themselves. If you got some hobbies and/or able to get in some other kind of group that you can share your interests and ideas and whatnot, that's a good starting point to kinda learn the ropes of socialization and all that since education can fail on that front (since that is not its main goal, more like a byproduct)@@the1stmetalhead

So to make sure he doesn't get rejected, he'll say something obviously controversial or outlandish that he himself knows will be rejected by default so he can 1, use it as evidence that the world is getting softer and we "can't have normal conversations about anything anymore" and 2, so his real feelings of pain, shame, anger or desperation will never have to get talked about because you're always argueing with the obviously controversial point he made, not with what he truly, really thinks. To be fair, Sneako just explained why he does his shtick. It was very insightful and eye-opening to me about why he actually does what he does, and Dr K did a really good job of being genuinely curious about Sneako and just listened to him opening up. I think I understand more of why Sneako does what he does. He thinks that getting NO reaction is worse than getting a bad reaction. So, he'll do whatever it takes to get SOME reaction even if it's bad. I'm not sure how that translates to his tendency to follow who he identifies as the "alpha male" and trying to copy their behaviors nor am I sure how that translates into his behavior where he tried to be stoic throughout (maybe he was copying another person), but the above theory fits to a T everything that Sneako does in that he's trying to get SOME reaction.

As a therapist, I really enjoyed this! Dr. K is definitely a master of directing conversation. I think this would be a great video for new therapists to learn about navigating treatment resistance. That said, it is genuine curiosity and regard for the other person and not taking things personally that can help any therapist connect with others. The first can be hard to train, but it’s necessary to do this work.
@cyndoherty563

Sneako has the absolute stupidest mentality when it comes to therapy but not all "treatment resistance" is this inane. I would not call any of what Dr. K is doing here connection. It is just the illusion of connection on behalf of Sneako. Regardless of what he claims, Dr. K is therapizing here. You cannot emotionally connect with someone you intentionally restrict from yourself and from engaging in mutually respectful relationship. Therapists definitionally do not connect to anyone unless they have breached ethical boundaries. I would call this faux-connection what it is which is verbal games and manipulation and that's what real treatment resistance is, not wanting to be manipulated and jerked around by someone pretending to connect and withold judgment. Anyone who knows a therapist outside the office knows they talk so much shit about their clients and hate a lot of them. Sneako is an idiot and/or trolling hard. He isn't indicative of what resistance to therapy looks like. I can't believe I even have to explain this.

I think Dr. K's background as a Monk in India really helps him navigate these conversations flawlessly because it's clear he has a more profound understanding of the mind than your average Psychiatrist. He spent 7 years dedicated to understanding the intricacies of the mind & the self. That intimate understanding of the human condition makes him an amazing Doctor. He knows exactly what he's doing. I'm a Buddhist, and Dr K sometimes behaves more like a Monk than a Psychiatrist. He already knows what Sneako is thinking & what he will say. But like any good Monk, he has to confuse you into finding the answers yourself. He's so sneaky and I absolutely love it. I wish I could afford therapy sessions with Dr K because I know I need it. Practice gratitude every day, and put effort towards non-thinking. A simple and effective book, similar to the Buddhist Dhammapada in its ideas, is "Don't Believe Everything You Think: Why Your Thinking Is the Beginning & End of Suffering" by Joseph Nguyen. I listened to it on audible. A few lines from the book I found interesting are: "Out of fear of the unknown, they prefer suffering that is familiar" "Thinking delays, thoughts create" "When we are actively thinking, we are either in the past or the future" outside of flow state. To receive insight for whatever problem your facing: "Be aware that your thinking is the root cause of all negative emotions, create space by removing any manual thinking;" you can do this by stopping the sentence before it finishes, the one your inner dialogue was creating - and if its a mental image imagine it dissolving. "Surrender any how's and why's and become aware of any feeling that arises as you surrender these thoughts, and magnify those feelings of love, peace, and joy." "The truth is always simple; but not always easy." "Thinking is a verb requiring manual effort, thoughts are nouns, which don't come from us. Thinking keeps us alive but does not help us thrive." Please remember what got you here won't get you there, hope this helps big dawg.

Dr K is really good at getting his co-conversationalist to agree to a shared reality. That’s not as easy an achievement as it ought to be when discussing Sneako because normally when you let him lay out his foundational axioms and principles, once you lean on those to point out inconsistencies or contradictions in his perspective he’ll grease and massage his way out of dissonance rather than really address the contradiction. Dr K does a pretty good job of giving Sneako space to lay out his presuppositions and walking Sneako into those inconsistencies without applying any pressure that keeps Sneako unable to acknowledge the issue due to defensiveness.

At worst I'd assume they just have body image issues like "I'm too skinny or fat" which can be dealt with with simple personal enrichment like going to the gym or something. If a serious thing like a close friend or family members death hit them I do not think they would actually feel this way because a serious mindfuck such as death cannot just be "Shoved down". This is mostly anecdotal because I easily fixed my body image issues with gym shit and confidence issues by going out with friends more. But I have had 3 major deaths occur in my life in the past 2 years of people I have known my whole life and it was something you cannot just ignore. Overall I just think it comes down to lack of experience and overconfidence in their own willpower that makes them give this answer.

I know Destiny incorrectly chose The Wire over the Sopranos but it’s funny that Sneako had a Tony Soprano experience with a therapist

That moment he almost said "I love those examples because I think lots of ur viewers can relate to them" but he stopped mid sentence to not make them aware theyre being "therapeuted" along sneako.

Im hoping at some point it's made clear Sneako saying "hes already unpacked his trauma because he's an adult and is mature enough to bury his trauma," is internally contradicting.

Dr. K is the perfect person for this because he has a strong spiritual background. He can pretty easily contend with spiritual matters and questions without dismissing them. Also I found it funny that Sneako said one of the bad things about therapy is having such a strong script while with god you can just be, while also going on about cleansing and praying rituals needed to speak with god 😅

I may have talked to a few therapists in my life, none were ever on the same level as Dr K.

consider that while this may be their first conversation (not 100% sure it is) Dr K would have had ample resources to research Sneako beforehand, I doubt he was going into this conversation blind. Consequently he was able to draw connections and make links he otherwise wouldn't be able to. On the flip-side I assume any therapists you have seen would be their very first interaction with you, so alot of foundation building that would take multiple sessions would need to be done to draw the same links. And another huge assumption (dopesnt really change the point though) but with you saying "a few therapists" im guessing you didnt attend many sessions with each, meaning they didnt have those foundations to make the links, also I dont believe a traditional therapist is as upfront with what they are thinking as Dr K (because ultimately he is making content to teach people so it is important to talk through his thought process), giving the impression he is doing more.

@@upd0g1 but notice dr k was quite happy to indulge and would have counted to 420 no problem. i just recommended my favorite book - "games people play" by eric berne, as i said it's all about transactional analysis - people are not usually talking about what they appear to be talking about, and it's good when (dr k) recognises sneako is being a smart arse and goes "okay, i'll play the game, but you'll get bored first". if you watch audit videos you see the cops do this all the time, they let their ego get the better of them and they say "well i can stand here longer than you" and they always lose. my motto: always leave room for an apology with dignity, otherwise you get into a pissing contest and you end up in the hospital, court or looking very silly.

I don't think Sneako realize that his stream is his own "therapy session", he vents and goes off on tangent and rants about any topic he saw on social media to his audience (or his friends like zherka or adin), that's definitely one way to talk about your emotions. I'm only 5 mins into this video so idk if they're gonna mention this later on
