@ I daily mine and its lots of fun but the suspension is way too stiff for everyday driving in these 15-20 sti's but is not unbearable. I dont know how the evo rides but im willing to bet is probably softer which i wouldn't mind. Evos V and VI are just stunning to look at.
4 жыл бұрын
@@BP-fx3qc there both awesome cars but i find the evo to be more " race car" so not ideal for rough ill maintained roads but saying that the billsteins my 8mr came with were quite soft but hide height was shite, i got ohlins on there now and the thing is quite uncomfortable and harsh on poor roads . Handles incredible at speed tho , a good friend of mine has a bone stock 04 jdm sti and that rides very well both are nimble and raw...in the ideal world I'd tow my evo to track with a sti .

I realize its a bit too late for this now, but a tip for bushings like these, when its alu/metal/hard plastics - When you remove the bushing, try to clean the hole out of any old marks from the previous bushing install with a scotchbrite wheel so the finish is smooth and "honed" - And then use some engine oil as lubrication when you press the bushing in, this is "THE" way to install bushings. Anyways, love the vids as always!

That Rupes is consider by many to be the best, you have a nice DA polisher there. Sonax makes great polishes too. I often use Perfect Finish, 1 step less cut but max finish/gloss. I would say for you guys working on mostly JDM and Euro cars with softer clear I would team that up with a Uro-Fiber 50/50 pad. It's a pad that is a blend of cutting and polishing microfiber so it's great for a one step.

For better removing you can weld the inside of the joint, and then while it is hot to press it out. That way the weld shrinks the joint and it came out easier. For press in you can put the joint in freezer for half an hour and that way you will not crack the aluminium arm.

The polishing tuned out great! Grab a DIY ceramic like Cquartz UK or optimum gloss coat. It'll help protect the paint for a couple years, and they're easy to apply.

Considered removing the adjustment bolts on the lower arms and locking them with washer like what S chassis guys do? That way theres no chance of the bolt slipping and you can just adjust camber through the actual arm

I probably would have put a pole jack under the rear lower control arms to load the suspension up to about ride height-ish, then adjusted the LCA and toe arm. That way you can get a better idea of what the final camber angle is going to look like. Also suggest ensuring that the LCA's are adjusted to the same length both sides. If you adjust them on the alignment rack to the exact same camber angle both sides, you could possibly end up with different length arms on each side, which could lead to unpredictable handling, as the negative camber gain through the suspension travel will be different for each side.

It took me hours to do those and I could have killed somebody. Did you guys not have a nightmare removing the ABS sensors ?
