For me, it was a sibling after our dear dad passed away. She implied that I stole jewelry from our mom on the day that we moved her!! Blew me away...I was SO surprised/bewildered/ANGRY/confused!! Even seriously considered hiring an attorney...😒. I'm trying to forgive her for myself, but she had already said something even MORE hurtful a few years prior to that, so it's VERY difficult to do!! My mom has dementia and I feel like all of us STILL have to kiss her hiney!! It doesn't help any that she was physically abusive to me as a child!! Have to do things her way, on her timeline,etc. I guess I need to change my attitude for MY sake, but it's difficult when I think of her past behavior towards me, including REJECTION a NUMBER of times. Boy do I GET THIS. I am caring for apparently the same mother! Lol. However she did do 75 % pretty beautiful things taught me a lot. However the physical and mental abuse did not help growing up.. I'm seeing it all play out now as I care for her to keep her healthy and alive when my vindictive sister and brother just collaborated to get money while they allowed her to rot in a horrible assisted living facility. I cdnt have the cycle of abuse to continue.. she's now safe and cared for 24/7

He was the love of my life , and he told me before the divorce that i was the only woman he loved .I believed him and told him i was divorcing him ,not because i did not love him but because i could no longer trust him . After 50 years of my devoted life to him.. the divorce was final in April, and he re married in June...... but he kept saying there was never anyone else until the week he was going to be martied. His way of asking for a divorce was email.... then we have not spoken for 12 years. It took all those years of me begging to help our marriage.... When he was living with someone for at least 12 years. And I believed and trusted. I was a fool in love. But he gave me many years of happiness and 2 sons. He is losing out by throwing us away for his pleasure. After all of what I found out, I am glad my love was real, but blind. ... because he was cheating right under my eyes....and I did not even expect it. My vows were sacred and they meant nothing to him.

I noticed how special it was and brought it home and was fixing a couple places that frayed and realized it is a wedding quilt made by hand for someone. I will cherish it. I think that’s so amazing that you have that bond with your ex husband.. God puts people in your life for a reason and God takes people out of your life for a reason; we may never know why. No matter what, you share a child together and you share grandchildren together. Even though my ex-husband and I barely speak he lives in Florida, I live in Massachusetts 😊 we have four children together and we have 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild.. ( he never raised them) the love of my life, Tommy who I talk about on here, (we met when we were 15) raised my children, and he gave them away at their wedding. So wonderful you were there for him when his sister died. I had one of those Hershey's cookbooks and gave it to a charity shop! I've known my husband since we were teens. We got married young and we have like most have weathered a few storms. I waited when he was sent to war. We have been devoted to each other for 60 years. My friends that married young and divorced always say that person ment the most to them. It's a personal experience for everyone, doesn't mean they should or shouldn't get back together. Some have and enjoy years of happiness. Other divorce again.

Your ex-husband (so handsome indeed) appreciates your love and friendship and kindness in his time of need... just like you appreciated his in yours. I too am now friends with my ex from TN. I have forgiven him and now we feel long distance love for eachother and forgive. You are blessed to have him in your life. Not trying to be too personal but would he consider relocating back home? Susan, I left you a message yesterday, but what I didn't tell you was my ex husband was always there for me. We became best friends after our divorce and even when he was in a terrible accident, my kids asked, what will he do if he cannot take care of himself. Without even thinking, I said," well we'll just take him home! He did recover but not for long. We talked every night on the phone for several years, and finally he asked me to marry him again. I said yes, and I was so thrilled, as we had worked out our problems and got along so well. He died two nights later! I have asked myself so many times why we hadn't done this sooner......I can't come up with an answer. He had always been my best friend. So, when I suggested you and John had something very special, I really wanted you to think about it. That sort of bond doesn't come along every day, or ever again. I do apologize for the nudging but I guess I was just thinking of myself.

In and out of our lives as we all have different paths to take. I think it has to do a lot with trust and bonding like you said. Bonding seems to happen when we are young or with family. I cry whenever people lose a loved one, i dont have to know them, as I know that pain. So happy your family and friends were once again together. Make it a point you all do it again soon. Make it happen.

There's just a special bond with those we went to school with, with those we fell in love with as teenagers. Those of us who married young - well, we grew up together. Even though we are divorced - those memories of the young days are still precious. My best friend - she and I walked in to Kindergarten together. Even though I lived far away for 32 years, now that I've moved back home to mid-Michigan, she lives just down the road. :) So precious to have our friendship still in tact. Thank you for sharing.

Sweet sentimental video Susan. It’s wonderful that you’ve stayed friends especially since you have a son and grandchildren together. I’ve lost 10 meaningful friendships between 2019-2021. All but one lived long lives into their late 80’s and early 90’s. The one was only 63 and preparing to retire. It’s been tough, but I’m so grateful that I shared time, life stories and love with them. Love does last and it’s a precious experience to be able to share. You and Desi have a meaningful, blessed week🥰

I have a former boyfriend, and when we "broke up" he told me, in writing, that he would always have my back. No matter what the circumstances, even if he was "with" someone else. Well you had me in tears. Thank you for sharing your story. I send my deepest condolences to you and your family. I think people come and go in and out of our lives because people and circumstances change. We are lucky to have those who are always there and who we can count on but there are always those who have gone away in one way or another which is the hardest part about trusting relationships. There is always a chance they may not always be there and when and if they're not it hurts. There are years of joy and love and there are years of sorrow and grief and yet we still trust and love. Amazing. May peace fill your heart and your wonderful memories of Jan sustain you.

This really touched my heart, Susan! I'm very sorry to hear of Jan's passing, but I'm glad you were able to be there for John, as he had been for you in prior years. 😇 I'm not sure why people come & go from our lives, but some definitely leave a permanent mark on our souls... a smile, a scar, or both.
