Livestreamed from his Beijing studio for the Tokyo Jazz Festival and sung in it's original Japanese. Dimash sang the Chinese version of this song called Autumn Strong in the 3rd round of the Singer Contest in 2017. As Dimash had previously given an interview in tribute to Koji Tamaki a few weeks prior to this we had a sneaking suspicion that he was going to perform this in the original Japanese for the festival. The composer Goro Matsui said that although he'd heard many versions in many languages, Dimash's performance was the most beautiful one he'd ever heard from a foreign artist singing it in Japanese. Reviewed at the time by many Japanese reactors the common consensus was that Dimash's Japanese was flawless.

Japanese, for the Tokyo Jazz Festival. This is one of my favorites. 😊 Please check out his song Olympico (also called Ogni Pietra,) from the Arnau concert. Can be found on Igor Krutoy's channel. It's in Italian and features a more operatic style but contemporary. Very strong and motivating and showing his broad range from bass to soprano.

The last time the composer Koji Tamaki sang this song, he was sobbing almost violently. He said that the cover by Dimash was the best of all he had heard. Many Japanese vocal coaches have said he sings the Japanese perfectly, but any native speaker can tell he had an accent.

Both of his parents are famous Opera singers in his country. I love this rabbit hole Dimash is the first person that I can listen in any language and still feel just as special as if they were all in English. I am a absolute RENegade as well as a Dear. I have never listened to music in other languages as I only speak and understand English. I love every single one of Dimashs songs. I would love it if you did When I’ve Got you. The composer of this song was very touched by the way Dimash interpreted the song. He said the word Ikanaide, which is repeated several times in the song, but actually had different meanings for him in the song, and Dimash seemed to sense that. Dimash has a feel for the emotions that go with a song like this. Koji Tamaki, who has sung the song many times, once said that you need a lot of life experience for this very deep song and Dimash, who is actually still so young, sings it so well right away. He is a very wise soul.

Awesome reaction ❤ I always react strongly whenever I hear a new song of his, and also after many listens. Goosebumps, tears, intense focus, … independent of the song‘s genre. 😊 His voice is enough. Other songs make me tear up, but never other voices. Ikanaide is the original version of that song. It was written by Koji Tamaki and is a love song. Then there is the Chinese version called Autumn strong. It has different lyrics, that were written with that tragic backstory in mind: of the actress who grew up in China and saw it as her home, but got kicked out of the country when her Japanese heritage got known. Dimash sang the Chinese version first. And the original Japanese version later. Both are beautiful! ❤ Please react to his duet with Plácido Domingo. (Au fond du temple saint) Dimash was trained as an Opera singer but hasn’t performed pure Opera for many years before that performance. So his style is not purely operatic anymore. But only Opera buffs notice. He is still very capable of singing an aria and sounding wonderful! ❤😊

Dimash sang "Autumn Strong" kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZ7MY5aMns-Xg9E in Mandarin (same melody as "Ikanaide," ee-kana-ide) at the Singer competition in China in 2017, which is a farewell lament to actress Yoshiko Yamaguchi after she was deported to Japan. At that time, the Chinese 'borrowed' the melody from Japanese singer/songwriter Koji Tamaki, who wrote the song in 1989 because of a real life loss (unrelated to Yoshiko Yamaguchi), with the original lyrics by Goro Matsui. The Chinese then wrote their own Chinese lyrics to "Autumn Strong" to relate to Yoshico Yamaguchi's misfortune. Now.. fast forward to 2021. He has been invited to perform at the Tokyo Jazz Festival in 2021. But he couldn't go to Japan because of Covid. So he had to sing it from his studio in China. There he took part in the show Shine!
