I would like Dr. Li to comment on lectins. As you all probably know there is another famius doctor who is telling us to avoid foods with lectins and even used to/may still sell a supplement that fights the lectins you eat. That doctor also sells many products that he makes a lot of money on. I truly appreciate that Dr. Li uses science to back what he's saying and DOESNT SELL ANY PRODUCTS. I don't count his books as products although you might.

I have read that cooking beans in an InstaPot or pressure cooker gets rid of most of the lectins in beans, so,I use my InstaPot a lot! 😊
@avlasting35073 күн бұрын
It's a simple matter. The lectins need to be removed in the food prep phase (boiling first, then disposing of the boiled water).

I’ve always loved eating legumes, but I never knew they had such powerful cancer-fighting properties! I’ll definitely be adding more lentils and chickpeas to my diet after watching this. Thanks, Dr. Li

Because of your work and your books my Stage 4 Breast cancer that metastized to my bones as actually going away - no chemo, no radiation, and no pills. But then my world turned upside down and the stress was unbearable. In just a month time I lost my husband to an illness (I had been his caregiver for 12 years and the last 4 were intense. Plus the home we rented for 11 years was being sold and I had to find a new place to live, plus my AMD was getting bad so I made the hard but wise choice to sell the car and give up driving. Talk about STRESS. Here is my question, After all this happened my cancer shot out of control again (but I was still eating in a good way - many memos from your books and broadcasts. Do you think it was possible the stress? That is my thought...oh and since all this happened I've had 2 blood transfusions for a very low red blood cell reading. Nothing seems normal. By finally learning to relax, greet life, and making sure I am eating right...do you, as a scientise in this area, think I will get back on track to good health? P.S. I bought your book and presented it to my cancer doctor - he loved it and is open to learning more.

Wonderful! Do you also do low carb? How about lots soy milk since blocks oestrogen?
@beccafrank6849Ай бұрын
@@chewiewins Yep, I do low carb. Also do organic soy milk, but from time to time do organic coconut or almond milk - just for a bit of a different flavor. I also have one more move to make. I am in the 'Decompression Chamber" aka a small studio. It has given me the time to reflect on life and how to get back to being...me. I will soon have a 1 bedroom apartment that overlooks a lake and so many beautiful trees (with eagles, bluebirds, ravens, and more. Then I think the real calm will take hold.

Get his books if you can afford them: Eat to Beat Diseases and Eat to Beat Your Diet. I'm always taking notes during his videos so I can remember everything. So having these resources at hand is invaluable to me. I have an entire bookshelf full of books like this, but these are among the best.

Two questions: (1) What do you do about the fact that eating beans and legumes causes gas? Aside from being an unpleasant side effect, does this indicate that your gut microbiome is being harmed or changed in a bad way? (2) Aren't legumes well-known for harboring aflatoxin B, which can cause cancer? Are there ways to reduce the amount of that fungal product in legumes through cooking techniques, or by smart sourcing?

Black lentils are the most nutrient-dense type of lentil. The darker the lentil color, the higher the antioxidant capacity (black > green > red > yellow).
