Cole The Cornstar

Күн бұрын

This episode contains happy, sad, and funny parts. The video kicks off with the excavator being taken back to the rental company. After digging a cremation, I spent the rest of the morning moving trailers and seed tenders around to keep the planters planting. After lunch two people from AgLeader visited to test the performance of the 24-row planter. The rest of the day was spent running seed to the planters and gathering parts.
Oh yeah, Nave ran my foot over with the skid loader.
Thank you for watching!

Cole The Cornstar, aka Cole, is a 4th generation family farmer from Central Iowa who is the life force behind his family’s 1,700 acre farm. Cole promotes agriculture by filming his day-to-day adventures with his Dad (Daddy Cornstar) and brother (Cooper) on the farm. With a lot of help from Daddy Cornstar, Cole instills humor and education into his videos fit for both young adults and adults. Despite being 22-years old, Cole has an old-fashion work ethic with an innovative approach toward agricultural technology and practices. Cole's mission is to prove the American Dream is not dead and be a megaphone for agricultural education and innovation, from technological advances in farming equipment to conservation practices.

I learn so much about farming from all of you. I grew up on a ranch/farm but lost my dad (smoking/cancer) when I was ten years old. As a little kid I saw a lot, watched everything, but at a young kid, I could only absorb so much of how to farm. That was back in the 50's and 60's, open tractors, no electronics, etc.......Thanks so much!!!!....Love all you guys (and gals!)

Never stand in front of a machine that is being operated by a newer operator or even an experienced one for that part . You could have been seriously hurt if not killed. When you sit in the operators seat your depth perception is going to be off. an inch of travel for the operator is a mile in reality. I'm not trying to preach to you I've seen many dumb accidents on the farm and at my electrician job. Nice video stay safe and farm on my friends ! Safety is critical on the farm . One can get to complacent and be injured. I watched a guy almost get crushed by walking under a loader when the load being lifted by a chain shifted and the chain came undone . His hardhat was crushed it looked like he was dead but he was only knocked out. We had told that kid that he was getting to over confident around machines but he never listened. He was fired.
@cynthiaclee877
@cynthiaclee877 4 жыл бұрын
Nave is not really an operator, she's an excitable city girl, just gets in the machines & goes for it, not really taking into mind what is around her, they just let her get in & drive whatever she wants. Needs to have lessons, the corn star family seem to forget that it takes years of practice, she doesn't even tie her hair back when she is around machinery that could scalp her, too excitable

@@cynthiaclee877 your "lessons" don't help worth a crap Nave is more than a excited city girl on the farm there's really only one way to learn and that's to do it. That's the only way to get proper experience. I have worked with equipment for many years and I have seen guys with more years of experience than Cole and nave combined yet they still make mistakes and have accidents unfortunately it's part of working on the farm there will always be accidents and I don't like to put any blame on anyone at all but I'm that situation Cole should not of been standing there I have driven tons of tracked skidsteers and I can almost guarantee you she could not see where his feet/legs were. On my farm I was always taught when yoy are the one on the out side it's up t you to put your self into the safe spot and never go anywhere where you can not be seen when working close quarters with s machine always think of where your standing and think of it as the operator l can not see you be. But like I said it's nobodys fault on the farm accidents happen and just need glad nobody nws seriously hurt. On the farm next door to mine l, my neighbor ended up ruining himself over with a 20000 lb tractor and it pinned up against the barn wall before it ran through the wall and he was by himself shithappens

@@cynthiaclee877 I'm also a 'city girl' Cynthia. I feel like you have a bit of animosity towards us ! If you have grown up in the city or the country, the key is are you willing to learn. Nava has a teachable spirit and a positive attitude toward learning and becoming a productive member of this farm family. I understand you are worried for her safety and you have good points, however I feel a little encouragement goes a long way.

You probably already know this Cole, but the guy that's doing the running around, bringing seed, gas, food, to who ever is in the planters is just as important to the success of the season. With a FAMILY all working together, everyone is working hard to make sure you have money in the bank for the next season. To me, getting to run other equipment and the running seems better than being stuck in one chair for hours upon hours everyday. Oh, and I hope you still have a foot! Guess we will see on the next podcast!

Business idea - drone snack delivery to farmers working in field. You could synch up the GPS on auto-steer & the drone. Maybe build a little landing pad by the door?

Not everyone is going to like a video, as the saying goes "you can't please everyone" all that matters is people like or dislike and comment, that will get Coles video's noticed more.......

Cooper, you're a born teacher dude !!! If I had had someone like you teaching me in school, I'd have understood everything so much faster. Much love to you all. Be well, peace ♥️🌞🙏🏼♥️

Hey Cole blessings to you an the family. I wonder if you had a small atv utility trailer for those auger graves to collect the dirt in while digging of Lynnwood save you some time in the cleanup after. Rotate the dirt off the auger into the trailer and than shovel it back in when finished.

Love this channel, yet I find it funny, being from Croatia (a small country near Italy) how people say strong wind at 70km/h and we farm our fields here with our Bura(name of the north wind in Croatia) that goes from 150-220 km/h. Bless you Cornstar family and good luck with your crops :)
