Cole The Cornstar, aka Cole, is a 4th generation family farmer from Central Iowa who is the life force behind his family’s 1,700 acre farm. Cole promotes agriculture by filming his day-to-day adventures with his Dad (Daddy Cornstar) and brother (Cooper) on the farm. With a lot of help from Daddy Cornstar, Cole instills humor and education into his videos fit for both young adults and adults. Despite being 22-years old, Cole has an old-fashion work ethic with an innovative approach toward agricultural technology and practices. Cole's mission is to prove the American Dream is not dead and be a megaphone for agricultural education and innovation, from technological advances in farming equipment to conservation practices.

Cole, the Cornstar Family and crew have reeled me in. Grew up in Farmville, northern Illinois. Went to college (Physics major - don't ask!) but too far from home to be helpful. BUT while in college and as much as possible I worked as a mechanic at a Massey Ferguson dealer. Nearly wet myself when I saw your big boy! Even worked at Dekalb AgResearch for a time.(Dating myself with that one). Farming is not easy but it is enjoyable and rewarding and the entire Cornstar clan makes that abundantly clear. Farmers are true American Heroes. Keep up the GREAT work Cole. Everyone - Be careful. Be safe. Be well.

Always a relief to have a good planting season. Our son plants all our corn and always makes a video of "last pass". Does the same for harvest. I can hear him breath a sigh of relief as he gets to the end of the field! Going to need a good yield to compensate for the low prices. Y'all make farming fun! The daze I spent farming was awful hard work! We ran open cab 🚜 and got sunburned, wind burned, chafed and 😫 tired. We had lights that were like candles but we pushed through! Our spraying was often done by hand when the CO-OP got behind. We had an old Farmall tractor that had the square tube for the Cultivator that had seats bolted on both sides that we would ride on putting out bug 🐛 killer by toe-sack. Fill it and ride down the rows shaking out the dust on the cotton and 🌽. Times I wouldn't trade for anything that would get a person tossed in jail today for child abuse. 🤣🤣🤣 Love modern farming and absolutely love how FAITHFUL you all are to FAMILY and the PLANET and to God above! Thanks again for sharing your story with us! I watch Summer too! Remember to: Wash your hands and say your prayers cuz GERMS and JESUS is EVERYWHERE! *Dale Brisby*(Tuber)😎🤣🤙🤙👏👏👏🚜🚜🚜🌽⭐'S🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Be long winded in your explanations, they make perfect sense. Two questions came to mind: 1. What happens to the unused seed? 2. What sort of yields did your Dad and Grandfather get 20 & 40 years ago respectively when compared to current yields (on average)? It would be interesting to compare the differences with all the modern technology and techniques.

But later the worlds best beet pickle. All of her daughters meaning of course my mom and her sisters would come and help each taking turns helping in the kitchen. Of course they would be making other pickles to but at the time I wasn’t interested in those just the beet pickle. Now my mother who lives with me and my wife, at 93 is teaching my wife to make beet pickle. I had some last night with supper and I still close my eyes when I eat it remembering my grandmother at the stove.

hi Cole in areas where your soil is too hard, as a landscaper with 30 years under my hat i would add sand and compost to freshen the city graded yard. with your need to just truly control lets say 4 inches of soil, 1.5 inches sand with 2 inches sawdust composted would turn your soil black and airy. this will also promote crop fodder composting in place. talk to big city tree services for the chip from their grinders. compost on sight, a free place to dump wood waste is a value to all. take logs and all, you can rent a grinder. set up right it will heat your shops too as winter bites into profits just to keep things warm.
