No wonder she got diagnosed with GAD and depression. I'm freaking out just listening to this, she had to LIVE WITH HIM. I really hope she can continue to improve.

my guess is that he upped up the verbal abuse at one point (maybe he reconnected with daddy or some of his buddies influenced him) or he just thought op would be like a puppy and come back not matter how often he kicked her

I dont get how OP mentions THOSE as examples of parent alienation (scolding her infront of the kids) and then while rambling more down the line, gives ACTUAL examples of parent alienation. (Saying she can't take them cause of her anxiety)

I had an ex like this in high school. He totally destroyed my emotional innocence. I was so confused by his behaviour because the break up was all his idea and I was sad but accepted it and decided not to get emotional about it and he acted like he was offended by that. And then when I was just trying to move on from it he decided to start flirting again and string me along for a few months making me feel like he wanted to get back together but I think the truth was he just didn’t want me to move on before he did. I finally decided I was tired of him when he started yelling at me when I was upfront and told him I was confused by his behaviour. I finally decided we couldn’t even be friends anymore. I was sort of hoping for an amicable break up since we only dated for a couple of weeks.
