I have 2007 Jeep JKU 3.8L with Ripp (American Racing) Long Tube Headers which are 2.5 inch down pipe into a custom 2.5 inch in to 3 inch out Y pipe with Flowmaster Super 10 pre axle dump. I absolutely love the set up and sounds so good. Your definitely inspired me to do my own HEMI swap. I will be going with the 345 and 8 speed. Gonna change up the exhausted up to a true dual system when its HEMI time. Thank you for such great videos and instructions! I got some pics on my IG if anyone would like to see and hear it lol

In 1989 I did the same thing to a 1976 FJ40...put a 327 in it with a Muncie 4 speed, Curry Ford 9" rear end, upgraded steering box...everything. Took it down to the frame and built it back up myself with the occasional help of an engine buddy. Turned it into a show truck...best money I ever spent because I more or less put myself thru a trade school with everything I learned. How to take things apart and put it all back together again...paid dividends in my business and personal life as well.

Awesome! Glad it’s complete! When I put an aftermarket trans cooler in my jeep, I left on loose. I filled as much of it as I could. Then connected on the steel lines and tighten. It made it so much easier to feel the pan and not have bubbles. I’m sure that will work with any cooler.

That radiator gap is close but it's still easier that a 6.0 or 6.4 power stroke belt change. I find that the extra lines, fluid and hoses that a steering ram adds help keep the system cooler but I still run a little cooler on the return line. Your intake Temp is going to be high with where your air filter is located. I'm not surprised that you're blown away by the power because we all were when Bronco's, Blazer's and Ramcharger's had big V8 power. Then in the mid-70's they started going downhill eventually reaching a point where some 5.7 Chevy's and 5.8 Ford's had 160hp and 8:1 compression. As you might imagine those engines drank gas and felt like you were towing a camper everywhere you went.

Hey if you’re having an issue with too much blow by with these FCA engines you might wanna look at what jasper does with their engines and uses a diesel style oil ring to reduce blow by. My 3.6 (from jasper) with the right oil that does not shear unlike Pennzoil platinum, has been great and doesn’t burn any oil now at all. . . Also using 5w-30 instead of 5w-20.
@mails50542 жыл бұрын
i just run an oil catch can on my 3.6l with 5w20 ultra plat penzoil, even in dead -20 degree minnesota winters i dont have much in the catch can? Thats odd, normally 3.6l dont have a ton of blowby, but a catch can is a good idea. Also what oil are you using over penzoil?

He said at the end of the video that he is going to compile all of the info and make a video on it. I am guessing that his build was 10k with his own labor. His engine wasn't cheap though so it might be closer to 15k. Im guessing he spent around 5k on his engine since he said it was sitting since 2015. you can do a completely used 5.7 swap for 10k.

Nice! Been following this since the beginning. I can't wait for the Hemi swap in the JTR... I want to do a Hemi swap in mine as well.
