The concept of mortal/immortal relationships have successfull examples in fiction, I'll use two that tackle the concept of death for this example, these being Lawrence and Holo from Spice and Wolf, a Trace and Flora from Twokinds. Lawrence is human, and therefore mortal, whereas Holo is an immortal goddess. There's one thing Holo is afraid of, and that is losing the ones she cares about, for this reason she attempts to distance herself from Lawrence when she realizes she's becoming attached to him. She's rude, she's abrasive and at multiple points she tries to separate herself from him. But as the story progresses, she realizes she's making herself miserable and eventually manages to accepts her feelings for Lawrence and decides to enjoy the time she has with him now rather than depressing herself thinking of the inevitable. I'm kinda cheating with the next one as Trace isn't really immortal, rather the problem is his human life span, Flora is a member of a race known as Keidran. Keidran have short life spans of about 20 years, with the lucky ones only reaching 25. Trace, knowing this, becomes obsessed with trying to find a way to prolong Flora's life. He becomes so obsessed that he ceases spending time with Flora almost entirely. Eventually Trace realises this when Nora, a dragon, points out that he's wasting so much time trying to prolong her life, he's wasting the precious little time he has with her now. So, like Holo with Lawrence, Trace decides to enjoy the time he has with Flora rather than worrying about the inevitable. Different character arcs leading to the same conclusion. I think Discord entering into a relationship with Fluttershy could open up an interesting arc for him. One that highlights his struggle to come to terms with her mortality and eventually coming to a similar realization as the other two examples. Just my two bits worth, I'm not saying you're wrong for shipping Dislestia, I'm just stating why Fluttercord appeals to me personally, at the end of the day people can ship what they want as long as we all stay civil with each other.

I love your videos, I really do. They're funny and see really good points of the MLP show, but, as a Fluttercord fan, I really don't like your way of expressing of the ship. I don't ship Dislestia but I really like some Dan art or even comics, because they are pretty good, and the artist are very talented. I don't dislike Dislestia videos, I just don't watch them. DuckTales is a kids show and MLP includes more adult topics than DuckTales, so don't come me with that. A Twist needs to propell the plot forward. A Twist that adds nothing to the show is worthless. To make the things worse, the twist gives us loose ends. For example: Gusty the Great. She was introduced as opponent of Grogar, but thanks to the twist, this leads nowhere. We don't know, if she is just a myth or if she really existed. But it doesn't stop here. What is with the real Grogar? Has he given up searching for the bell? Wouldn't he be furious, that his bell was in the hands of three villains, who he couldn't defeat so easily now, because they have taken all the power? Instead of creating an ending, where all loose ends are connected, we have this.

The thing is there was also deleted script from the actual writers about how Discord was going to lean down and give Fluttershy a kiss before she actually left, the idea was scrapped, BUT SERIOUSLY-. For me, all that matters is that a series ends on a good note; one that has all its biggest loose ends tied up. Shows that gave us that: Samurai Jack, Last Airbender, Ed, Edd n' Eddy, Codename: Kids Next Door, Hey Arnold. Shows that FAILED to give us that: Star Vs. the Forces of Evil, Fairly Oddparents, Teen Titans, Sym-Bionic Titan, Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. If a series fails to give an ending that fails to resolve some huge plot points, it ends up a disaster; which makes me worried about the ending for Steven Universe: Future

No one had any issue with cheesepie so it was shown confirmed. But ships like fluttercord and appledash ? Like half of the fandom agrees with it and other half do not . I also wish cheesepie had more episodes together since cheese only came in 2 episodes. I needed a proper relationship build up . Fluttershy and discord had some . All in all , its left to interpretation. Nothing we could do about it

This was a fantastic way to end the series. Discord being Grogar was quite a twist, and while his big plan did backfire horribly, at least Discord had good intentions. He wanted to help Twilight gain the confidence in herself to rule Equestria. The battles between the defenders of Equestria and the villains were all really great. But the best part was when all the different creatures gathered by the Young Six stepped in to help. And Chaos Pinkie was pretty funny, too. It was nice to get a look into the future, and see how much all the characters have grown. According to Jim Miller, most of the ships are up to the viewers' interpretation. I myself enjoyed the irony of fun-loving Pinkie seemingly being the only one of the Mane Six to have the responsibility of raising a kid. And that final song was sheer perfection. Luckily for all us fans, the story of G4 isn't quite over yet. The IDW comics will be providing us with "Season 10" starting in April, and we also have the "Pony Life" series to look forward to. There's still a lot of fun yet to be had.

Lord Blu I thought they ended it on a bad note. They pulled a Snoke with Grogar after hyping him up as the final villain and I thought the twist was just bad, mostly for how it ruins Discord’s character and how stupid they made him just to allow the plot to happen. It ruins his character because it made him do some rather fucked up shit which goes against his character development. He resurrects Sombra seemingly to let him die again which is a rather messed up thing for a “hero” to do, same with him explicitly threatening the terrible trio’s lives at the end of “beginning of the end” to get them to join him, basically gang pressing them, which is even worse due to how one of them is a child, and no them being evil does not make it any less wrong that he did this, and what makes it worse is that he receives no punishment for his crimes, and just because he had “good intentions” that doesn’t excuse anything when his plan involved enabling dangerous villains into attacking Twilight and her friends for revenge, which goes wrong in ways that are still directly his fault since HE told the terrible trio where Grogar’s Bewitching Bell was and for some odd reason believed three villains who are known as being deceptive that they didn’t get the dangerous artifact and what makes it even more inexcusable is that Discord has the ability to watch people without their knowledge through his powers so he had no excuse for not watching them. He should’ve been turned to stone with the rest of the villains, and not be allowed to walk free, especially when he endangered everyone in a horrible way.

@@ryancarson6962 I wouldn't say it "ruined" Discord's character. He's always been a schemer with loose ethics. Look at "Best Gift Ever", when he tricked Rainbow into bringing a rampaging Winterzilla to Ponyville, all so Fluttershy could get a new friend. And he also has a history of being overconfident, so it's not that surprising he didn't keep a closer eye on the villains.

I utterly despised the Grogar twist for reasons perfectly encapsulated in MisAnthro Pony's hour long rant of it. That said, outside of the twist, I really liked the finale. The two parter doesn't come close to Twilight's Kingdom, but it was good in its own right. Really, I feel like instead of turning Discord into an idiot, I would've preferred Grogar not be brought up at all. I dunno, maybe Chrysalis frees Tirek and Cozy, and Cozy remembers studying Grogar's bell at Twilight's school or something and that's how they find it. Or Tirek and Cozy work together to break out of Tartarus using magic from the creatures there (a la School Raze) and they recruit Chrysalis to help them. In either case, you can prevent Discord from snapping away the problem by having the trio take him by surprise and drain his magic before starting their plan. I came up with this in 2 seconds. Just... I would've preferred anything that didn't involve Discord trusting known decievers and manipulators to not decieve or manipulate him, especially given that Tirek has played Discord before.

@@Commenter839 Same i hated the Discord is Grogar twists. If they were going to do that,then they should have done it towards the end of the finale after "Grogar"was defeated. Then he transforms to reveal he is Discord. Then Mane6 and everyone is surprised. Then he explains why etc. Now what would have been 100× better is if the finale had the real Grogar not the fake Discord Grogar. Grogar would somehow take away Discords magic or Discord would fight Grogar with chaos magic. Then his chaos magic isnt enough. Mane6 still tired after trying to fight off Chrysalis, Tirek and Cozy. Now that would have been a great villain indeed.

I don't like or agree with Fluttercord, and it doesn't sit right with me. I do debate it sometimes, but it's not something to be worked up over? It's like, a ship for a show about ponies and everyone has their own enjoyment in different things, so I stopped fighting with people about it. Also, I accidentally hurt someone fighting over AppleDash, TwiDash and Rarijack. I see a lot of people arguing over Fluttercord and AppleDash in the finale but it seems to be Fluttercord getting backlash, and Fluttercord shippers too. It's really sick, so I'm sorry if you've ever received hate over Fluttercord or something.

I think the best comparison I have to this show is the Ford Mustang. Originally it was considered a feminine car, but once they gave them to the right people (Caroll Shelby) it's now one of those cars anyone can appreciate. I guess that's why I want to make a Rainbow Dash Mustang track itasha. Already found a canvas. Just need money, parts and a garage to work in.

I think Celestia was a wee-bit justified in her anger. Although she can't be angry about Discord attempting his plan (as you said, she herself does this quite often), the main difference is that Discord _SEVERLY_ underestimated the evil trio and overestimated _his_ ability as a safety net. As she said, it was a grave error of judgement; not a mistake in its entirety. When Celestia sent Twilight to the first SSS, I can only assume that she was waiting in the wings to see what would happen (presumably in that memory corridor thing from Magical Mystery Cure). If Twilight failed to re-awaken the Elements of Harmony, or attempted to do it on her own, we can assume Celestia would've stepped in to re-banish or fight Nightmare Moon. Similarly, when Celestia and Luna sent Twilight to the Crystal Empire, we can also assume that they were watching her progress as well. Celestia and Luna were more than capable of banishing Sombra before on their own, perhaps even without the Elements, so there's no reason to assume they couldn't do it again. Celestia (and Luna) worked from the background, where nothing could possibly happen to Twilight's safety net. DISCORD, to contrast, worked directly with the villains he personally freed and recruited, leaving him vulnerable to their backstabbing. If he'd used a physical projection (we know he can do that) to interact with them as Grogar, they wouldn't have been able take his powers; meaning that the good guys would've had his help in the final confrontation. If he'd paid _any attention whatsoever_ to their sudden shift in mannerisms, he would've seen their double-cross coming miles away; meaning they likely wouldn't have gotten that far to begin with. So, yeah. A miscalculation on Discord's part. Celestia was justified in criticizing that.

What’s interesting is that, in the things that leaked a while back, there was proof that they were gonna originally have fluttercord be canon, but ultimately decided to leave it up to interpretation. They were planned to give eachother a small kiss. I love why they didn’t do that. They wanted everyone to be happy. Fluttercord shippers would be happy, and non-fluttercord shippers would be happy. I think it was a really smart move.

One major disappointment I have aside from the Grogar twist is how the royal sisters were handled. I wished they got to do something bigger instead of losing their magic and just distract the trio. Especially Luna since she kicked the show off with being the first villain, having her get something to make things full circle would have been fitting. Other disappointment is Chrysalis's fate.. In a nutshell, really didn't like seeing her statued..

Crysalis would have fed off the love the ponies had, Cozy would cause havoc somewhere else and Tirek would try to keep absorbing creatures magic. They might even somehow find a way to release the real Grogar. They didnt want to give them any chances at messing up again after what they did. Hey who knows maybe the real Grogar could get introduced and break them free from their statue. That would be a great special.

Its ultimately Discord's fault the trio went off even further from the deep end like this, he shouldn't have been allowed to decide their fates. (No, I am pretty sure the sisters wouldn't have killed them if Discord didn't intervene). For Chrysalis, freaking send her to some mental health place. I mean, she is clearly not mentally well as seen in the season 9 premiere and such. She needs freaking help, not be used by Discord intending to use her(and other 2) as cannon fodder to boost Twilight's confidence(while screwing the sisters over. That's what his plan freaking done here). If she were to got help, she might have reform. She just needs more than Frienemies to get her to reform, more help. Cozy Glow and Tirek only got out of Tarturus because of Discord, they would have most likely never broke. Being turned to stone is a fate worse than death, regardless if the victim is conscious or not while stuck like that. If Grogar frees the trio from the statue stuff, I am hoping the statue bit would have bit Discord in the flank since its ultimately his fault the trio were worse and ended up worse off than they were before. In fact I hope if this special happens, it would have done the royal sisters much better justice since well.. I feel like the finale gave them a pretty bad sendoff due to how things went for them in the final battle.

He's the reason they ended up getting a deadly artifact. He's the one who pretty much encouraged them to end up being worse and teaming-up for the sake of his damn plan. His plan ultimately pushed them off the edge further. Other people pointed out its essentially the equivalent of breaking out criminals on purpose, have it so they end up getting guns and point their dangerous tendencies onto someone and then be allowed to decide their fates despite being responsible for said criminals to end up being a worse danger in the first place.

B'ars NI Hey what Celestia does isn’t the same as what Discord did, she never ENABLED villainous threats, she only sent Twilight after villains who would be threats regardless. Discord however enabled villains who were no longer a threat, Sombra was dead before he resurrected him, Tirek and Cozy Glow were imprisoned in Tartarus before he freed them and Chrysalis was alone and going insane before he brought her into their group and gave her allies. He also told them where Grogar’s Bewitching Bell was, which allowed them to become even more powerful and gave them the chance they needed to become major threats. So Celestia actually is right go be pissed at Discord for what he did. He endangered everyone.

We don't see Cadance's future form, only a stain glass of Flurry Heart. So there is a chance she has already hit that stage since it is the standard shape for when leaders max their size. Twilight's form is from a concept piece by Lauren, which looked similar to Celestia in the art

Regarding the whole Twilight won't outlive her friends thing, keep the exact wording in mind. She won't "outlive" her friends, not "she won't die until after". For Twilight to not outlive her friends SHE has to be the one who dies first, because if even one of her friends died before her, she'd have outlived that Friend. This means either she will die before them or they're all immortal and the 7 of them will continue on ruling Equestria (Spike was included in the final Rainbow Laser, so I'm assuming he's somewhere connected to the Elements now too. Downside there though is they'd all outlive their families. Bit ssd, especially when you think about Applejack having to say goodbye to Apple Bloom, but they'd still have their families' descendants, so it's not all gloom and doom
