Hello I have a question ,, when I was 18 years old I made a mistake that lead to me being a felon but on my pre trial I discovered what I wanted to do with my life which was becoming an airline pilot I’ve done research everywhere but I never can find a straight yes or no answer does being a felon disqualify me from ever becoming an airline pilot

depends on the felony and if you can get expunged from your record, but most likely it will prevent you from getting hired at an airline. but becoming an airline pilot shouldn't matter if you have a passion for aviation you can still get a PPL and fly for fun.

@@mexico1662 itll be better if you get it expunged, but you still need put in your medical certificate request that you were arrested and if it was alcohol, drug related felony you'll have to go through a lengthy costly process called HIMS. i am not airline pilot yet, just have my private. you should consult aviation lawyer.

It takes time. It can be nerve racking at times but understand they have been doing it for a while and at some point it will become second nature to you. Overtime you'll learn the phraseology, but as of right now, just think of ATC as your friend and if you have any questions then don't be afraid to ask them. Helpful tip is listen to liveatc and practice reading back some of the messages or gain some insight on how other pilots broadcast their intentions.

Listen to live ATC while you drive and try and respond to them. Listen to the other pilot chatter and do as they do! ATC are more patient than you might think.
