Open relationship story - Once opened, that Pandora's Box cannot be shut. She did not want an actual open relationship -she wanted to shag her ex. I am betting he got bored and moved on. She also made opening the relationship an ultimatum. She will make closing it one too and will paint OP as a cheater etc etc. We all know how this one goes.

I love it when some partners will put you down, but when you find someone better who makes you feel good about yourself all of the sudden they change their tune. My ex was like that. For the last 5-10 years we were together he would do nothing but call me names, accuse me of cheating ( I wasn't, but I knew he was because I found messages) and put me down. When I started hanging out with my husband, I started feeling better about myself, broke up with my ex, started dating my husband and have been happy ever since. Of course there are some days where it's not necessarily happy, but there are going to be some bumps in the road in a relationship, but 99% of the time, I'm happy in my relationship.

it's a tale old as time. One person insists on opening up their relationship as a means to cheat guilt free. They don't think of anything past the person they already have lined up. These people are always too self-involved to realized they are literally setting themselves up for their partner to finally realized how little they are actually valued in the relationship when they finally get to see how other intimate partners will treat them.

Mom's main points: "Our relationship has been good lately!" Because your daughter told you nothing about her life that you could use to make her miserable. That is to say, your relationship wasn't good you just lacked opportunity to ratchet up the misery supply. "Selfish to have all this space while we rent a storage room!" Somebody answer that phone... cause OP called it! Not your space, she didn't want to deal with your expectations, you immediately proved that she was right to be cautious about that. "I'm hurt you don't include me in every part of your life!" And OP is hurt every time she does.

So the parents are back in town for a month and don't say anything. Sister got married, no one said anything. And why the hell are the parents keeping anything in storage when they live in another country now? Why should OP be forced to litter her house with their crap-- which they will doubtless complain if anything happens to their precious stuff. Yes, if one side has to pressure their partner into making it an open relationship, it's already over. If both parties go into a relationship with the understanding, and desire for it to be, an open relationship, that's entirely different. It is possible for a relationship to become open and still work, but again, both sides need to want it, not just agree for the other person. It's actually saved relationships in these cases on rare occasion. Personally, it's not for me, but it's not inherently bad nor wrong.

Unless its like it from the conception of the relationship, open relationship is code for “i have someone i wanna bang or already started banging and dont want to be caught or outed as a cheater if the relationship ends”. It feels like I've been reading the same story, with slightly different details about the girlfriend/wife wants and open relationship, talks the reluctant boyfriend/husband into agreeing to that. The boyfriend/husband either starts getting really popular with the ladies or gets a lover that makes him happier than he was before. Then the girlfriend/wife gets upset about that and wants to close the relationship. I've seen the same thing with different subjects on Reddit. After the original post, several other posts pop-up that seem almost identical with minor details changed. Frankly, I'm strongly suspecting that perhaps 80% of the relationship stories on Reddit are exercises in fiction writing.

s2; the second a person asks about an open relationship, the relationship is over, but you might ask "who is the guy?" There is always a guy. she is already cheating (85%) or has someone in mind (14%). Even in the remotest chance that it isn't the case, she still is saying that "You aren't enough for me." In this case, it is obvious that she has been lying about it from the very beginning (hooking up with an ex isn't experiencing new things) and there is no reason she would keep on cheating no matter what she says. If OP closes the relationship, it should be monogamous with the new girl.

Literally the only time an open relationship is healthy and well received on both ends is if both people entering the relationship clarify that they WANT an open relationship! Not just dropping it in four years in because you're "bored" and TOTALLY not just cause you wanna cheat. Literally just be upfront at the very beginning, search only for people who also want an open relationship. It never ends well any other way because its so often done as a blanket for cheating.

In story 2, whenever someone wants to open up the relationship, that person is usually the one cheating on their partner. OP found this out when he met his girlfriend and broke up with her. It's despicable how people who are interested in opening up a relationship want it so badly. When things don't work for them, here comes the manipulation of the situation. All my ex-girlfriends that I had sex with, they were all dead pillow princesses. They would lay on their backs and just let me do my thing without any sound. Not once did I ever felt good having sex with them. Now I'm single and I will not be able to find a woman who will enjoy having sex with me. Prostitutes and escorts are just as bad as my ex-girlfriends. So, I'm gonna be single.

This was one of those situations where the person who proposed the open relationship had someone specific in mind they wanted to cheat with, but didn't want to be "cheating." Probably, if he had declined the open relationship, she would have slept with her ex anyway, and then accused him of being controlling if he found out about it. Also, she probably never really thought he'd find anyone else. It probably really shocked her to see with her own eyes that other women found him attractive and that he enjoyed their attention. This is one of those "F around and find out" situations.

Open relationship story : GF asked to open the relationship so she could sleep with her ex. Trouble is, once a couple agree to open a relationship, it is the beginning of the end and there is no going back, really. You might find yourself in an open, close, open, close situation, depending on who one of you wants to sleep with. Fidelity is a given for a loving relationship as it is bound with trust. All that went out the window when you both agreed to sleep with other people. Put it down to experience and never enter into an open relationship with someone you want to stay with.
