I am barely over overweight and everything just went crazy I need to start exercising but the depression Is In the way so I have trouble getting motivated plus the hirsutism is soooo annoying its EVERYWHERE and I need to loose weight to get the hormones in balance to start hair removing it. my hair on my head is falling out the weight adding on. I want to wear nice clothes but everything is in the way its hard. but on the plus side my acne is pretty much under control because of medication which is great. sorryrant

Just going to say this to help women struggling with this … shaving, waxing does not make it grow thicker. She would have noticed it growing thicker whether she shaved or not … it’s a sign of insulin resistance, and all your hormones out of balance. You can absolutely fix this with diet … just gentle intermittent fasting, low carb, and no sugar … in 2022 this isn’t a biggie and u ABSOLUTELY can have babies if you want. Our parents didn’t have this because they didn’t SNACK… they didn’t have access to the foods u do today… you got this ♥️
@uniqueLeo082 жыл бұрын
I do believe our parents dealt with this as they became adults. There are so many circumstances and precursors in an individuals' body that could allow this to come to fruition. Speaking from experience, it seemed to run in my family because I noticed my aunts and cousins either have PCOS and the most noticeable symptom, hirsutism. Gen X dealt with it, but they didn't have the tools nor the support of a community to handle it publicly.
@K200-m7h9 ай бұрын
Pulling hair from the follicle DOES make it thicker. It feeds the hair follicle with blood flow making it stronger . If you have hirsutism. When you get electrolysis you’re not allowed to pluck as it slows down the process and reverses the process. I thought it didn’t too but it actually distorts follicles! so now I can only shave while I get electrolysis 😢 my lady has been doing it for 30 years and obviously was trained to I definitely do believe it. However shaving it cut above the skin so it’s allowed. Waxing plucking feeds the follicle with blood flow, creating stronger hairs. I also plucked a neck hair once and it grew back terminal (thick) I regret that. I suspect hirsutism was triggered by it somehow. But I’m sure womenwith normal hormones won’t get thicker hairs, but it’s definitely a fact in some cases. I think hormonal hair growth is affected but places like your eyebrows aren’t. And the places where I plucked she has to use the highest setting to get it to even come out. Places where you haven’t plucked could even be destroyed and never grow back with 2 sessions and slide the hair out easy, sorry if this makes no sense

@ h hazel ipl and laser hair removal is not really that great for facial hair even if it's dark and thick. The main problems are it isn't permanent and ipl/laser can actually degrade or destroy collagen. Other than waxing, which itself isn't permanent, the best option is galvanic electrolysis ( NOT thermolysis or combination!!!!!). The biggest short term bad point, with electrolysis or waxing, is that the hair has to grow out long enough to be tweezed or for the wax to grip the hair. If that isn't possible for you the only other good option is DMK alkali treatment, which can be done at any stage of hair growth. But definitely consult a beautician, in person. I hope this helps ❤

@dedos95542 жыл бұрын
Your story is pretty similar to mine. I wasn’t really that hairy as a child, I just had darker hair because of my ethnicity but that was about it. When I had gotten my period I started noticing that the fine hair all over my body started to become really long and thick and dark. I thought that’s what was supposed to happen as I was going through hormonal changes at my age. But it got so extreme that I had to wax ( my mum said I should never shave but always wax so I listened to her) by whole body every 2 weeks and it only got worse, I got hair on places where there had never been any, and 2 years ago I started to notice that my facial hair became all long and dense, so I waxed it and it grew back normally except for the hair on my chin. I had 3 hairs which I always plucked but they multiplied to 25 and then it started on my cheeks and my sideburns. I became depressed, i was always tired and had no energy, I wasn’t the social kid I once was anymore, I started to isolate myself, I stopped exercising, I couldn’t wear anything that I wanted, I was so ashamed and tired, so I finally went to the doctors this year and they diagnosed me with PCOS. They gave me the choice of taking the pill or metformin. I still don’t know which one to take because I don’t want this to get worse I am tired and I don’t want to have to deal with this anymore. I’ve wasted my whole teens not doing anything because it affected me psychologically, I just want to make it up in my 20s now and live a normal life. I had problems with my period until the age of 16/17. They were always too late, either 1-2 weeks or 1-3 months. In the past couple of years they became kind of regular, still 1 week late, but I know when I’ll get them because my body tells me. I really hope that in the future they’ll find a cure and be able to help all the women who suffer from PCOS and make their lives easier.

I had PCOS when I first started puberty (13) and I took birth control to manage my period for around 2-3 months and I lost weight (I used to eat a lot of junk food as a child). I as well have shaved and waxed parts of my body that had peachfuzz and literally paid the price for that. Luckily now that I am 26 I was told that I don't have PCOS anymore (I don't know how that happened), I haven't been on birth control since I was 13, my period is stable, and I am almost hair free thanks to laser and electrolysis. Looking back at my childhood, I think the hormones and chemicals in the foods I was eating messed me up (also bleaching creams). Cutting out dairy made a major difference as well for my hair growth and acne since it has hormones in it. I really hope things turn out fantastic for you and I cant wait to see more from you

I have this issue, started with my period at 11 and I I hair everywhere where I feel self conscious. You have a great doctor as my experience with health system hasn't been great and despite my testosterone levels being higher and having all the symptoms of pcos besides cysts which like you I'm very thankful, on my private genetic results it said yep PCOS mutation on this gene + my irregular periods and facial hair sideburns and some chin neck hairs, belly, my back, my arms (Which I was self conscious about as a young teenager and shaved it and waxes it yep not great) a few on my chest, and also wherever else it's "normal" to have hair and started with acne again when my skin was clear for a while and now on my back as well its horrible. This is the reason while it's so hot out I can't wear dresses and overheat so much and I'm a girly girl. I'm thinking of going to my doctors (diff surgery) to check if they can maybe check my levels again and take it from there as besides tedious it's painful as you fellow ladies suffering with this know know.

I'm struggling with undesirable hair growth pretty long, it is such a pressure, I barely endure this. Now I'm in Finland. I visited doctor here. I made blood check and it was really good. I was prescribed pills, I didn't have periods at all, but doctor told that for now it was fine. And my hair growing is slowd down ( it is on lower belly, neck and breast). In future I want to make laser hair removal.

We kind of have the same exact story, I was 11 or 12 when I started shaving my legs and my armpits. I always liked to be hairfree but I wasnt such a hairy person. When puberty hit me I started having some hair in my checks and some of my friends started making fun of me so i started threading. Meanwhile I always has had regular periods and my breast was always tender when the period was nearby. Then I was introduce to waxing and since I was 17 I always waxed till this day now. Then i was introduce to laser hair removal and I only did my face( just to mention I did not strugle with chin hair just some sideburns). I did 10 sessions and when the sessions was over I had my chin and neck area covered in hair, it was terryfying and I also have photos of it. I really thought laser could help me and it was my only hope so did another 10 and no change. Then I thought I should change the type of laser, another four tretament and still no change. My doctor did do me some blood test and found out that my androgen levels were high so he diagnosed me whith Pcos but as a medical student myself I doubt the diagnosis because i had really really regular periods and no acne and other Pcos symptoms just hirsutism. Back to 2019 in april I starded to have irregular period and really bad acne( I was 22 at that time). Since then I'm on medication to regulate my periods and I'm almost a doctor myself. There is no change in hair growth and my acne journey hasn't been the best. I would really like to try electolysis but I'm afraid it would be a toss of money. Did electolysis really helped you? There was a different story with my parents. They thought I was overreacting (I have a bit of chin hair that is dark and thick), probably because my older sister has hirsutism and doesn't have PCOS. And according to my labs and ultrasound, I don't have PCOS. I've been hairy since I remember, but my hair growth doesn't increase so dramatically. I don't know if I've had some new hair popping up for 2 years, actually. It depends on where the hair grows, though. I would notice new hair on my face, but on my arms or legs... not so much. I'm 24, by the way.

Hi I have PCOS and it does not mean you can not have children or that you will definitely face any difficulty getting pregnant it is a common misconception. My doctor put me on a medication to stimulate ovulation to get pregnant I did not even need IVF. If there was actually no risk of pregnancy you would feel confident to never use contraceptives. I have migraines with aura so I can not take the pill with estrogen only progesterone only pill, some birth control pills actually block the testosterone in your body so that you have normal hair growth such as the brand Yasmin, given the chance I would take it.

What will be the big different between genetic hair and pcos ! I only ask because I’m really confuse I have done blood test , hormones test , testosterone and all the results came normal according to my doctor ! I haven’t done ultrasound yet.
@dreama81683 жыл бұрын
Your doctor has to test free testosterone and he also needs to measure LH and FSH hormones. If LH is higher than FSH that means your hormones are not balanced. But you need to get tested for your LH and FSH on Day 3 of your menstrual cycle. If all of them are normal and you have regular periods, then it is probably genetic.

Thank you for sharing the video! Although i’m not female but i’m male, I remember the time when I was 5 years old, when I see the razor in the bathroom, I started using the razor on my arm, so then my parents asked me did I use the razor, and I said no, but they knew I was lying. As I turned 9 years old, I was told by parents to shave my underarm, but I shaved all around my body just to be less hairy, so i’m happy. By the time I turn 12, I started shaving my face, but then the thicker hair grows back, which I became really frustrating, I wanna be young. I grow beard when I was 13, but I tried to use wax but it still grows beard, I became really angry myself as people asked me to keep the beard, but parents told me not to shave my face and body. I still wanna be less hairy person. I’m 16 right now, so I lost my confidence.
@dreama81683 жыл бұрын
perhaps you could go to electrolysis. It is painful and pricey though. I can see it can be frustrating to be hairy even as a men, but if you are healthy otherwise (check your hormones) I wouldn't care about what other people think. But you should check your hormones. Even guys can have too much testosterone, and in the future it leads to balding. If you have too much testosterone then cutting out sugar and supplementing with saw palmetto might work. Good luck bro!

I remember having a little mustache and thick eye brows and eye lashes with bottom hairy legs but my friends would always compliment the beautiful fair skin I had. My mother had told me don’t shaves but since we had to wear shorts in middle school I started shaving. No one said anything about my mustache until I started tweezing them. And then it spread to my chin bc of one little hair I was getting self conscious that everyday I would stare at the mirror and any little peach hair I would pull it off. My Aunty was the one who said something to Tweeze out the mustache I wish I didn’t listen to that advice. And similar o you I began waxing and noticed the hair changes and skin. I didn’t really have a skin break out but my skin has always been oily. One of the purks of staying young. But until I had my baby it went for worst. I began growing thick hair all over my body plus my stress, depression and self conscious made it worst. Didn’t gain weight it’s easy for me to build muscle and don’t crave starchy food or sweets yet I am trying to understand what’s the best way to eliminate these hairs so if hormones is the big thing and combine with electrolysis then I will work with it. Currently I am doing thermolysis but now I don’t even know if this is good. I still grow about 700hairs biweekly. I am in the process of getting diagnosed by the doctors. And currently I just want to go the best way out bc I am spending money on thermolysis electrolysis but I will continue watching the Vids and read more upon hormonal balancing the natural way. Thank you for sharing your story.
