I can use an iMac, a MacBook Pro, and an iPad Pro, for work. The thing that I’ve started noticing more, is that if I want to get work done, without being bothered, It’s so much easier to flick on DND on the iPad and work away on it without any pestering. I’ve also found that using zoom on the iPad (with the multitasking so I can actually do work, while listening to Susan in HR nagging about something or other) is great too; and I can easily disconnect from the magic keyboard and wander into the kitchen, or go for a walk around the block, and just transition onto cellular. I used to watch your videos about working full time on the iPad Pro, and think that it was a silly idea. But with The Rona, I’ve actually seen it take on a whole new form. Great to have this new video series, Chris. I look forward to the next ones!

Just subscribed to your channel brother! Love that you use your iPad for everything, I’m the say way, I edit video for the business I work for daily, manage the business website and so much more! Don’t understand some youtubers when they say to NOT depend on a iPad Pro but to get a MacBook Air or pro but then complain about the MacBook heating up, lagging when doing 4K video, the display not being bright enough, only lasting 6-7 hours and yet the iPad Pro 2018-2020 handles all these without breaking a sweat! I edit 3 layers of 4K video and doesn’t lag at all, it doesn’t overheat or even get hot, the display is bright and speakers are awesome! I have the 12.9 iPad Pro 2020.

Usually start the day off with the iPad by opening OmniFocus 3 and seeing what needs to be done today. Fantastical 3 for my calendar. Since I loved using the Franklin Planner I open One Note to Access the Key 2 Success Planner and see what I had planned in there and to create a journal entry for the day. I also go into Facebook and pull up the group that I am the admin for and post my daily message and any other admin tasks I need to do there, As I finish my morning routine tasks that OmniFocus reminded me of I check them off as I do them then would normally head to work, but since furloughed just start doing the tasks I have set up for the day from home. Glad to see you back online. Love seeing your iPad videos.

A couple of observations: 1. I use Spark email simply because it has such a good integration with Things (and Todoist). How do you flag an email as a todo item? 2. I switched over to Todoist (they have come a long way with their UI/UX) from Things. Mainly because I got tired of there not really being a good way of setting a priority of a task (which I would think would be a simple thing for a task manager). How do you work around this limitation with Things? Good video!

I suffered with email a lot, too. I have 7 different addresses and run 5 companies with many workers and managers. What helped me was the following simple system: 1. I use Spark but it worked in Apple Mail equally well 2. I filter my mail to have unread messages on the top (Spark does it automatically in default, I think) 3. I go to my email and first I delete all junk 4. Next, I answer emails that I can deal with in a few seconds 5. I transfer all my leftover emails into Things Inbox and treat them as tasks (it is hardly 10%) 6. Some of the emails become reference, some calendar items, and some tasks for processing The key is to process it always to Zero!!! This is a very important point … always to Zero This simple system really works! I used to have hundreds of unread messages causing me lots of anxiety. These days I finish all my emails in a few minutes. Hope it helps someone :-)

Christopher Lawley the long press in Spark doesn’t return the default iOS long-press menu. It gives another menu that is completely useless to me. For example, I love to long-press on links in my E-mail and save them to Safari’s reading list. Spark does not allow that. I deleted Spark for this reason.
