Thank you Professor McAllister for taking the time to make these videos! I first took the TEAS test over a year ago and got a 51.1% on the reading. I was super discouraged because reading was always my worst subject. It felt almost impossible and I kept putting off the test. I watched your videos, took notes, and I was able to apply the information to the Test today. I earned an 80.9% on the reading. Thank you for helping us improve these skills. :)

Thank you so much for your videos! You helped me a lot on the reading portion. When I took my first attempt, I got my lowest scores in Science and Reading (Reading at 85). I really wanted to get an overall score of 90 so I tried to focus on those areas for my next attempt. I read a comment that mentioned your channel so I watched your videos where I learned so much on the passage types/purposes/and other ATI-specific info that I wouldn’t have known otherwise. My score went up to 91 for Reading. I couldn’t have done it without your help. Thank you so much 😃

I have to work on my science too but I still passed everything with flying colors.... I feel like it’s not the material it’s choosing the BEST answer... like I had passage about Obama and electricity.. and the question was like “based on the following summary, what statement blow best resembles the passage” and all of them to me just were off! But then it will be two that could possibly fit.. Mrs.C a lot of it to me is nerves because it’s the first test!! So you getting an 85% is really like getting a 99% 😂 I guess you’ll be reading and I’ll be holding the book for you 😂😂

Hi Carolyn. I want to thank you for these vids, if it weren’t for them I probably wouldn’t have passed the reading on my first attempt. I got a 70.2 in reading, 81 in math (which shocked me, I’m horrible at math and didn’t even study for it) 70.8 in English, and 47 in science. I only did so poor in science because I haven’t taken a science class in my college. Anyway would you advise retaking it? I’m applying to an LVN program and they look at reading only, you have to score a minimum within 7 pts of the national avg of 59. So I know I exceeded it but I feel like I should try to score a little higher, I’m just not sure since it’s not their ADN program and isn’t as competitive. Also when you retest do you have to pay again?
@carolynmcallister14965 жыл бұрын
Congratulations on your scores! There is a lot to take in to consideration regarding whether to retake the TEAS. How many students are accepted each time? Are the Science classes a pre-requisite for the program? What is your GPA? Lastly, if money is a concern (and it is for most of us!), then I think I would probably go with these scores. Please keep me updated, and good luck!
@brettakin32945 жыл бұрын
Carolyn McAllister the college is called Navarro college, the location I’m applying accepts 60 students. There are no prerequisites required however for their point system you get extra points for having some science classes. My gpa is pretty low because I didn’t take college seriously a few years ago but catching up now, but I don’t think they look at GPA. They’re the cheapest and most convenient LVN program near me. App deadline is March 4, and I’m really trying to get in this year. Would you like me to email you their point system? I can tell you how many I have as well.
@carolynmcallister14965 жыл бұрын
@@brettakin3294 OK, my opinion: go ahead and apply. If you are not accepted this time around, then take Anatomy & Physiology the next semester and work your bottom off. That will be a 4 credit class, so it is important to earn at least a B. Please let me know how you do! Good luck!

Carolyn, if I came across as rude, my apologies. I just know that there are so many instructors/teachers/professors in schools today that really have no business being there. I went to medical school back in the 90's and things were very different. My wife who is 30 is in Nursing school now and tells me how things are and I'm shocked at what some professors are allowed to push across their pulpits. So again, I didn't mean to seem/sound rude.
