same here cathy, surprisingly i did so good at first, now ive been getting into my husband's treats & cheating on the daily. my main food intake is not as great as in the beginning, but it's not bad, im so mad at myself for cheating every day with a sweet treat at bedtime. i bought several long dressing mirrors from w'mart for $7 each & have set them in strategic areas of the house so im forced to look at myself, and i've got back to listening to carnivore videos again in efforts to get me back on track.

@@imissnickplur4964 I am right there with you, the videos help me so much. Some times I cry on my way to the fridge to get one of my husbands ice creams because I knew the damage it does but I can't seem to stop myself. I tend to blame it on the fact my daughter passed last december but I've been doing this my whole life. When I stuck to it, I lost 62 pounds. I didn't even take a bite of sugar, now I have gained a whopping 20 pounds back. I am going to continue to watch videos and get strong again. WE GOT THIS!!!

The biggest plus for me over keto is that I quickly was overwhelmed with ingredients etc and having to keep what was looking at some sort of chemistry lab....and all that time to combine and cook....whereas, carnivore is simple...and the health benefits are amazing....a little over four months now and dropped from 285 lbs down to 215 lbs....and I'm a 72 year old guy.

Ok, saying this with love! So many people tell me they cannot stay on track because they live with people who 'need' the carbs and junky food, so all the wrong foods are laying around. Living alone gives you the opportunity to clear everything out that might be tempting you. If you really want to then you will do that. And remember, you are accountable to YOU, this is YOUR life and it's the only one you have while you are on this earth. Hugs to you!

@@LaGüera90 If you are only on day 2, don't worry about all these things. Dr Berry always says- "Eat until you are comfortably stuffed." So try that. And of course, make sure you are getting enough fat. You are probably not doing anything wrong, but probably expecting more than you should be. Lots of people feel tired and not well for the first week or two, but by week 3 feel much better. So go easy on yourself and try to really enjoy your meals. it takes a while to get fat adapted, so eating 3 times a day is appropriate. It's too early to only need to eat twice a day.

Anita, my wife & I have a weekly lunch at the James Bay Inn (restaurant side). For the last couple of years I'v been ordering my 'carnivore special'. It is a 6 oz top sirloin steak sandwich, which normally comes on a piece of garlic toast, topped with onion rings, and served with chips or salad. I order it rare, sans toast, sans onion rings, sans chips / salad. Instead,I have it served with fried mushrooms & onions (2 oz MAX) and 3 bacon strips. (my one concession each week to plant food but I love the taste of fried onions &mushrooms). They are VERY accommodating and don't charge me extra for the bacon. When we go there for brekkie (before 11:30 AM), I order the Ultimate Canadian which is 2 eggs, 2 sausages, 2 bacon, hash browns & toast. I exchange the 2 carbs for 1 (or 2) more eggs, a 3rd sausage and a 3rd strip of bacon. 😀👍 If anyone in Victoria is looking for a good place for brekkie/lunch, Id' recommend them.

Great video! What you said about starting carnivore and thinking about where this journey will go and wondering if you can never have anything else for the rest of your life... that truly resonated with me. Like you I started at keto back in 2019. Lost 22 kg of weight I gained during menopause. Maintained for quite a while. Until I went into hospital in 2021 for an emergency surgery (appendicitis!) and 4 months later I was back in hospital with lots of physical trauma. Due to years of too much stress (cortisol) and medical issues combined with medical costs I had to pay out of pocket (and only could do that by changing my diet back to very cheap high carbs.... mostly grains and veggies/legumes) I gained the weight all back! Finally am able to do at least one month of carnivore. My food budget for August is €400 (instead of €200). No idea if I will be able to continue based on my finances. But August I am doing carnivore and consider it an elimination diet. Only 5 days in and already so much more relaxation in my head and gut. Belly flatter. Feeling of total satisfaction after eating my steak! No need to eat every two hours. And love the simplicity of it. As you said; just eat meat! ❤ Thanks for this video. Greetings from Amsterdam 🌷 ( lived in Canada as a child .... half a century ago!😅)

How many grams of meat per meal is going to be different for each person. How many meals per day do you eat, your age, height, weight and activity level factors in. In the course of a day I eat anywhere from 1-2 lbs of meat depending on if I also am having eggs or seafood that day.

It'd actually not a staple in my diet any more but in the beginning it really helped get over the hump. It's almost like a comfort food for many and makes this doable for those that might otherwise struggle. Now I rarely have as my tastes have changed. That said many people do very well with it. So do what is right for you and your situation.

Ok, this is a common error. Not your fault, it's just unfortunate that it's not explained better! I'm guessing that the app told you to eat approx 120g protein in a day, which *does not mean weight* It is macros, not weight!. To get about 120g of protein in macros that is more than 1 lb of meat per day. So take a closer look at that, you definitely need and should be eating WAY more than 4 ounces of meat per day.

@@KetogenicWoman Thank you so much for your channel and your kindness. No wonder I've been so tired. haha. I feel like a dummy, but new to this and so much to learn. You have been such an encouragement. I had to have surgery on my jaw that wound up lasting 3 years. All the foods they told me to eat were soft foods, pasta, rice, applesauce, liquid protein drinks. If you want to become a blimp, that is the way to do it. About the only healthy things I got were eggs and yogurt. So incredibly blessed to have found you and your channel.

Should you count calories on carnivore? I'm using a carb counting app and I'm worried I'm not getting enough fat but eating too much protein, but most people I see online just eat until full and don't count. Please help!

The answer is 'It depends'. Some people do fantastic just eating the fatty meat until they are full and no tracking. You don't have to worry about the macros if you are eating fatty meats as then you should be getting enough fat and fatty meats are more self limiting than lean meats. So if you try that for a few weeks and not seeing results then it could be time to track to see where you land as far as eating too much or even too little.

Congratulations on losing over 100 pounds! Yes, it seems that for me the first 100 pounds was easy, and now every pound since then has been hard fought. This is pretty normal from what I have seen from others like me. My Tuesday Talk on weight stalls might help with some perspective: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJSXgIyubst-jc0
