In case you were wondering, the picture of me in the thumbnail from late January was after I had lost 17 lbs and was down to 213 from 230. The September picture is at 154 lbs. Currently, I hover between 155 and 159. I wish I had a picture from my heaviest weight, but I was too embarrassed to take one at the time.

Steve😢I know the feeling of “I’m ready to go Lord!” In addition to losing my 18 yo son to a drunk driver, my mom being diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer, and her dad, my grandpa dying while we were at my son’s funeral all at the same time, I reached my low. After much therapy and going up to 276 lbs, I decided I had cried my last tear😢I found keto and here I am 18-19 mos keto, down to 138 lbs, running 5 miles every weekday, got hubby on keto and he’s off blood sugar, HBP and cholesterol meds and down 60 pounds to his goal of 175 at 6’0. I’m a changed person mentally and physically and have no plans on anything other than our Keto lifestyle. Your story made me cry but also makes me realize what you can do once you decide to pick yourself up. Bravo Steve👏👏👏I love you and your channel even more🔥💪👍👏😉🥰

I came across this today by accident. I recently subscribed to your channel, I am 54 - was 350 a few years ago, life was not as tragic as yours but went through a divorce, loosing house, health issues, bankruptcy, etc. I lost about 80 pounds and then caned back 50 from the stress related to covid with employment.. this July I started again with a positive attitude (not watching news and avoiding toxic people) and lost 30 pounds so far. What helped was discovering channels such as yours to guide me to low carb diet following what channels like yours do, especially when you experiment with various products or foods such as the noodles in one and potato in a more recent one... I found your video inspiring on many levels from what you went though to get where you are now.

I already feel so much better, Clear mind, better Sleep, hardly any mood swings, over all much more positive mindset, I am also in the middle of a new beginning and of course I am looking through the net with advice on Keto found many people who just are over the top and just wanna sell you something etc. Fortunately there were a handful of useful Videos with advice and now i am watching your videos. I absolutely love the way you speak to people, nothing what you are saying is judging . You're not hysterical and promise the one thing etc. I think your are so down do earth and an absolutely honest guy very likable. I will continuing browsing to your channel. Thank you for your valuable content.I am watching from Austria. PS. What's the story about the Number 4, even I recognize the colors but otherwise I have no idea of American football:-)

Welcome to the channel. I hope that you find my content helpful on your journey and I'm flattered by your kind words. #4 was the jersey worn by Brett Favre of the Green Bay Packers American football team. A heartfelt thank you for your genuine and transparent share of your journey.... it seems like an answer to prayer for me. My husband died at 49 from lung cancer and since that time I have yearned not for a replacement for him but a mentor particularly for my adult boys, now men, with their own families and precious grandchildren. Your raw honesty about your thoughts seems to voice clearly how men meet life's challenges and also how they can spiral into a negative feelings of nihilism. I come to realize that it takes a man to lead a man. From that perspective I have felt deeply the loss my boys must feel and have never been able to express in words. The pain manifests in unique ways and remains suppressed until offered a way out. I've always regretted I could never fill that void even though it was practically palpable yet remained unspoken. I opened by saying your share was like an answer to prayer because I will share this firstly on F/B and secondly with both my son's .... thank you again for taking this brave step to reclaiming your life and sharing it humbly and honestly.... the timing is perfect.

First of all: There is nothing ordinary about you! Not about your voice, not about your courage, not about your talent of reaching people. I love listening to all of your videos because of a ton of things, but one of the reasons is something noone has probably mentioned before. It is your use of the English language and your vocabulary. I am a 60 year old German lady who does not speak English as her mother tonguer, meaning that I learned English simply at school. That makes following KZbin videos from English speaking, and mainly American speaking folks not really easy. But your English is so very well spoken, your words are clear and not mumbled, your grammar is perfect and your tone is always respectful and polite, that I I never, not once, did not understand the language which is foreign to me. At least not when you speak it. Hoorah for your channel! Hoorah for you, Steve! Warm Hugs and a Ton of respect from your German fan, Carmen

My goodness let me just say thank you for sharing this with us. Allowing yourself to be this emotionally open with strangers takes such courage. Thank you brother! We all go through struggles and this is a great testament to the fact that we all have more in common than that which divides us.

Thank you so much for bravely sharing your story. I'm humbled by your courage. I need a while before the next part as your story opened up many raw nerves. Starting with your experience with bad managers changing a job you love into daily dread and a spiral of anxiety and depression. It's astounding how a series of events can add up when you are already low. Whilst we all moan about health care in the UK we are incredibly lucky to have a system where we don't have to worry how we will pay for it. It's bad enough worrying about the couple of weeks work my self employed husband had to miss due to me being admitted to hospital again - followed by him needing time off because of infections brought on by his bad diabetes management whilst I wasn't able to do any keto baking. I have no idea what we'd do if we had to worry about the cost of health care on top. The power of lyrics - the lyrics of one song gave me a light bulb moment and the courage to walk away from a toxic relationship when my friends were getting so frustrated because they couldn't get me to see what they all did. I'm so glad you found your turning point.

Steve, I never leave comments, but after seeing this I just had to. Thanks so much for opening up. Your story hits so close to home in so many ways. I have been doing KETO since last February and down 50 lbs. I watch a lot of KETO KZbin channels, but just discovered you a few moths ago. I love your approach and identify with you more than any other KZbinr. Please keep doing what you are doing. Thanks so much.

This brought me to tears this afternoon. I requested your story a while back because we seem to have a lot in common. Now I realize we have so much more, gosh. Thank you so so much for sharing your story and so much of yourself with us. I'm really so happy to see the progress you've made and the sheer joy you take in developing your recipes. I've used a lot of them (chaffles, lately), and often go to you for inspiration in my own troubled journey. I can see why you were such an epic trainer. The corporate world needs good training consultants like you. Rock on with your good self! ps. my corn dog maker is arriving this afternoon from Amazon :D
