There is a book, that was written in the 40’s by a yogi, (Paramahansa Yogananda). It’s title is, “The Law of Success”. I ran across this book only about three months before the “law of attraction.” became popular. “The secret” then came out and it was a big money grab. These fake gurus twisted and distorted spirituality in materialism, just as you have stated. I personally was pissed off, and soon realized how these fake gurus ripped off their ideas from the real gurus... Also, were you aware “The secret” movie is loaded with hypnotic induction? Hypnosis can be a great tool, when used for good purposes... But many misuse it to take advantage of others. Advertisers is a good example of that... but anyway... Great video. Thank you for covering an important topic. :)

You have to understand something 1st, & he totally contradicts himself on what the "LOA" is. Scientifically proven we can change the order of molecules in water. It seems you are rejoicing in your ignorance while not listening to the " middle" of his diagram. It's completely arrogant to think you know everything, when you aren't familiar with quantum physics & proven things, or how things come into your world vibrationally ....which Rich admits to..." molecules come in & out of reality (our plane of existance) "....that's what LOA really is. Not wanting to accept it is " being comfortable" as opposed to expanding the mind into what was previously unknown to you. Who predicted the airplane? REVELATIONS, Nostradomous...it's in code lest they be burned at the stake, or called crazy. Go around today telling people airplanes DON'T exist.... What's the difference? Someone created it & it's commonplace. Man's mind has stopped expanding on a large scale.

I knew this law of attraction was super BS and narcissistic when I was having a discussion with a group of classmates and we were talking about getting children . And I told them I wasn't having kids cause I can't see the world getting any better and I wouldn't want that for my kids. I told them a story of how I met a blind man begging on the streets and I could not help but wonder whether if his mother knew that is how her child was going to turn out, she would get children. One of the girls who fully believed in the LOA gibberish completely dismissed me nonchalantly stating that the blind man must have attracted blindness and poverty into his life. I couldn't look at her anymore without feeling a bit of disgust at her lack of awareness and empathy.

Pick the bones out of this one Grannon.... Was reading a book, Manda Scott, Dreaming The Bull? It has a Pictish carved stone bull on the cover. Didn't know it was real at the time, thought it was just artwork. Was going to buy shoes in Camden, London. Got to Holborn on the Tube and something just told me "get out here". Got out and it was like I was on auto pilot and I walked without any conscious thought going into it beyond not bumping into people. Walked to the British museum, inside and kept walking like I knew every inch of the place (I don't). Up steps, down corridors, around corners. Then when I got to a specific room the same urge that got me off the Tube said "you're here". I looked behind a door in a place that would have been very easy to pass by and there was the stone carved Pictish bull in all its glory. Gained nothing but a fantastic if bewildering experience, didn't get the shoes and of course, the world needs a little magic and I value that in what happened.

I cannot conclude except to say that my attempts and fascination with 'The Law of Attraction' failed but did lead me to a deeper awareness of my own authorhood of what I perceive to be my reality. We are in the realm of duality, which in itself is not very compatible with the non-physical. Even the notion of 'creating, manifesting, etc., implies the notion of non-creating and non-manifesting. I am here because I chose to be...thats enough for me to wrap my head around, lol.

I don't like the false positive toxicity of law of attraction. I know that the world is chaotic, multiple timelines exist at all moments but only because human beings have something like free will, that we can bring pleasant it unpleasant timelines or possibilities into our realities. I believe we love in a chaotic universe. We can only react to what happens to us and act on our desires or anti-desires. Hopefully after a bit of gaming around in our natural world, we can get to something close to our wishes. But the parts that do not agree with put absolute imagination, they are the parts that teach us the most about life and reality. If it was all predictable and moldable, we wouldn't learn anything new. And other people wouldn't be able to pursue their own kinds of happiness.

You had me at wank-twaddlery🤣 @RichardGrannon, your video today brought to mind a book titled: ‘The Middle Pillar - The Balance Between Mind & Magic’ by Israel Regardie. Have you ever read it? Regardie defended the idea that analytical psychology & magic were two halves of the same coin & considered the self-knowledge & self-acceptance gained through analytical psychology as important preludes to the divine self-knowledge & spiritual realization attained through magic. Regardie was a member of The Golden Dawn & his writings are centered around the Tree of Life, which sees some people reject his work outright or makes it gobbledegook for others, but you are indeed speaking to the every-man about The Middle Pillar. Thank you for your courage & authenticity... it’s so refreshing to know that I’m not alone in my own personal musings & meanderings. I too experience synchronicity on a regular basis & yet also hold your view on ‘The Secret’... interestingly enough, they fail to make mention of any of the other Laws of Hermetic Philosophy, but ‘those ones’ are obviously not as consumable or marketable. Off to put on socks & walk the dog whist doing the hand mnemonic & contemplating the symbology of ‘The Emperor’ card of the tarot lol xxx

I've done it too - I have manifested loads of things - some good, some great, some not so good lol 😀 it can be hit and miss though - and it works best for me when I don't overthink it, just declare something, let go of it / forget about it - then whammo - there it is - sometimes same day, or in a few months. A couple of years ago I said if I ever got any more cats (I didn't need any more cats - and didn't want another after my 17yo cat died and the grief was all consuming for me!) that I wanted a Russian Blue and a Silver Tabby. A few months later an associate of an associate that doesn't know me well at all, phoned asking if I could take in some abandoned 3 week old kittens... no photos, just asked if I could go collect them - I uhhm'd and ahhh'd a bit before agreeing knowing they might perish due to their young age and that I'd be grief-stricken if they died in my care. They are 18 months old now - 1 is a Russian Blue, the other a Silver Tabby - they are sisters and apparently the mother was a Russian Blue that escaped many moons ago and was essentially feral - no clue as to the father, but I'm guessing Tabby / Silver Tabby. Now this is an unusual Silver Tabby and I was very specific about the type of Silver Tabby - and this Silver Tabby is the exact colour I had described to my family.

Bam! ps.keep painting and believing! ps. you are doing it just like Jesus, the Quantum Master told us, ACT AS IF IT HAS HAPPENED, with TOTAL GRATITUDE!

Wallace Wattles' "The Science of Getting Rich" is from the new thought era. By being loose with interpretation and allowing myself to be a bit malleable with it, I thought it was a very interesting book. He combines the idea of faith and belief ( and god) in a cause, with the idea of abundance (he calls it the formless substance) by impressing honest thought onto it. Essentially it could be viewed as a form of affirmation bias, where positive intentions that percolate into the subconscious reflect back onto the conscious an awareness of things that have potential, thus forming a higher yield of opportunities to engage with. One of my favourite points from the book was to prioritise thought around creativity, not competition.

Great book. Who could forget that name? Don't listen to this negative prattle from the Narc up there. He's as much of a narc as anybody. Humans are narcissistic, everybody is, it's how we survive as a race of beings in a violent, terrible chaotic world. It's all about the degree and one's personal belief in God, that makes us want to redeem ourselves daily. No connection to God is the EXTREME version of the Narc. No guilt or remorse=psychopath. NO AWE in the wonder and mystery of God's Incredible Quantum World also = psychopath, in my humble opinion. Beware of KZbin Experts.

It's a great point that Richard makes here though, there really is something there. I've had countless weird things happen in my life where I've been thinking of something and a few days later it's happened or shown up. A recent example is I suddenly started thinking about a girl I went to school with, out of nowhere, in a romantic sense. Little did I know the same thing was happening to her, and when I casually messaged her just asking how she was doing we both discovered this weird synchronisity! But just as weird was the fact our relationship didn't go anywhere, so like, what the hell!? 🤷‍♂️😂 But gadgets that I need and can't afford suddenly going on sale for the exact amount of money I CAN afford, bumping into people in the weirdest places etc. Somethings going on......

There is a KZbin video titled "What is Reality" that, as I understand it, says our 3d world is made up of points from another dimension. Put that idea on hold. Now do some research on the double slit experiment. These concepts combined, in my opinion, teach me that I make my own reality. This can be applied to science, esp, religion, or any other type of woowoo stuff!

Thanks for taking this topic. I used ti listen to Abraham Hicks who sells the HOPE that if you just feel happy no natter what you will get riches... The result: I am broke, homeless and hardly surviving. I realised that my old feelings of Worry, concern and fear if loss had helped me every time to find a job I needed, peopje I needed etc. Abraham’s methode maybe helped ne feel happy, whatever, but the situation is deeply in debts, my daughter does not talk to me anymire etc. Abraham’s answer would propably giggke and say:”Oh, but it is just a contrast that gives you persoective for what you want!” Quess what? I did not need these experiences to know what I want. I want exactly the same things than before. Nowadays, if I heard the word ”LOA”, I run away and fast! If someone represent himself/hersekf as a LOA coach, I run away fast! Meditate, meditate... Meditation is nice escape-methode, but it had not really given me any real solutions. ACTION has. In a way, I think that thpughts turn into reality, I have experienced it. I am an architectvand I know, that first, there is an idea, a thought, about the matter - and then by actions it become in teality. But. But. But. I was doing better before learning more about LOA. And LOA FB groups are so intolerant, tjat if you cry because your cat dued, they cast you out from the group: you should be happy all the time! That your 18 years old cat died is a BIG punishment about your negative thoughts... you are so negative! We do not want you anymore in this group! Bang! Slam the door! This is LOA -community.!

The dead give-away of all trash spirituality is: "There's something in for you./It will solve your worldly problems: money, health, loneliness." It unfailingly comes up after five seconds latest. How people fall by the thousands for something coming along as some trashy telemarketer's spiritual sauna pants is totally beyond me.

i like that mindmap. I have ruined quite a few dreams with my doubt though, but then having stopped them, have led me to other things. If you are impresssionable, have visual imagination and have synchronicities often in your life, one would be foolish not to co-create and steer your mind and intention to situations you actually want. Nice discussion. will listen more later.

Gool Raise Ty. No, I haven’t heard of or read of his Biography, but I’m not surprised. I read his book in the 1970’s but I found out years later in the internet era that he had a knack for embellishment. For me though, It didn’t and doesn’t effect the validity of the message of what he was trying to convey in his book, even though he himself was somewhat shady. But I think the same could be said of and apply of many historical public figures held in some form of high esteem or another, easily. Thomas Jefferson spoke of freedom, but kept slaves. The story of George Washington and the cherry tree is by most accounts pure nonsense. John Lennon is hailed as some sort of poet of peace and enlightenment yet when it came to his own Family, children, and bandmates he didn’t always practice what he preached. To me It doesn’t debase the larger of their message. But, your point is well said and taken. The truth is, a lot of these flashy celebrity type promoters of this cure and that cure (yes Joel Osteen - I’m talk’n about you too!) are really like the old snake oil salesmen of the 19th century, and that includes Napoleon Hill and books like “The Secret”.

So yeah. It’s kinda like-If you don’t stay in the middle parts of the road, you’ll wind up in a ditch on either side. Lol. Bcuz no one is going anywhere stuck in a ditch. Lots of ways to put it I reckon. I guess for me sounds more like “faith without works is dead.” Seems like you need faith (or mental expectation) but you also need works (action). I think the example used in the Good Book Lol, was telling someone I care. Be blessed. I see you are cold and hungry, so I wish you well. Back pat. See ya later. Hope it works out for ya. But what good does that ever do the cold and hungry person tho? It does nada. But the one who says omg I see you’re cold and hungry. Here’s a coat and some food. Well, that’s effective bcuz that has legs. That has action and does something about it. And it’s helpful. But just faith only or action only doesn’t create the magic. You can have actions alone I suppose and it could help to some degree, but without faith it might be far more difficult to get anywhere. Like ditch digging maybe. Grueling. Then people get discouraged and tired and want to just quit. I’ve been there too. But put them together and you’ll see some magic. Faith needs legs, or else it’s just only being hopeful or wishing. And from my own experience, I can say that no, I did not always get what I had “wished” for either. Cuz it was just me wishing on a star or something like that. But I DID get or accomplish some things when I both got inspired about it and also put legs to it and walked toward it with my actions. And a lot of those times, yes, some serendipity type of things totally happened over the course of it. Just my two cents. Lol. Oh and yes. Totally agree with the whole acid on the map thing. Well in some ironic way, the narc abuse culminated in my life to such a degree (narc parents and beyond) that it shattered my entire sense of reality. That’s when my life became like goopy mush and that’s when I truly started living-as miserable and painful as it all was. But that’s when I started being more open to well, what really is the truth? I had to have more of a blank slate to receive new ideas that would benefit me and teach me things I needed to know. It was scary to think that anything I had ever believed or thought I knew could be totally false, but I needed to go there regardless. So now, I just don’t assume anything. I don’t just take anything for granted. I am now just a detective and I am constantly just working on detecting the real meaning of life and how I should live it.
