If you were in a long distance relationship with someone who has broken up with you, it's likely that emotional attraction has fallen. The distance between the two of you is likely what made it fall - even if your ex denies it - but, as Coach Lee points out, that doesn't mean that all you have to do is simply move to where they are to get them back.

SHE REACHED OUT! I’ve been no contact for 11 days and no joke I was watching another one of coaches videos because after the gym I was feeling kind of down and doubtful on wether or not I should reach out then BAM. Her name popped up on my phone. Not only did no contact work, but it worked for me too. I was in a much better place mentally to be able to talk to her without sounding like a hurt puppy dog. After three months of break up and two months of no contact I tried to reach out and he replied immediately asking how am I and my parents, that I should take care of myself always and get enough sleep and rest always. He's also asking if I am still stressed at work. That was 3 days ago. I will just wait for him to initiate contact. I just opened the communication. My boyfriend is does not like social media except to text so i would say it is a good sign, where all mine went wrong i told him that i felt he didn't love me anymore so i broke up with him hoping it would wake him up well it back fired on me bc he was so hurt he shut down completely i tried to talk with him & he ignored me for a week & it hurt so bad i called & texted for days finally when i stopped he thought i had moved on, then when he texted me that he missed me my heart skipped a beat. I had your phone call coaching, everything you said I should do, I did it.. the no contact was hard BUT I stuck it out and my ex would use our daughter as a way to reach out. I stuck to the plan I didn’t reach out. The no contact lasted about almost 2 months, then one day he just reached out over our daughter, but ended up talking about the relationship. At that point I was over the relationship. I had no feeling. I just let him talk and say what he had to say. 2 weeks later he was in a very bad accident and the person he had as an emergency was me. I showed up. I ended up helping him through his recovery and healing process.. I still had my boundaries tho, a month later we decided to take it day by day.. and now we’re planning a family trip this coming week for our daughters birthday. He lives 4 hours away. The distance of his move was what brought on the break up, he moved for a better job and I didn’t want to move. So as for now we’re just taking it day by day.. thanks coach lee!

i just want say that i didn't think the no contact rule would work but for me luckily it did and it all eerily played out exactly as Coach Lee said it would. At the start of the break up I was calling and texting i even made the trip to see her face to face and she wanted none of it. i then came across this video when i got back home and stuck to the rules of the no contact rule and seven weeks later she reached out and we are now talking and looking forward to the future together. I like Coach Lee's video's. Most sound like he hits the nail right on the head. I was with my ex GF for 3 1/2 years. We lived an hour apart so really only got to see each other 2 - 3 times a month. She did come to my house more than I went to hers probably 60 - 40 because I live out in the country. She broke up with me 5 months ago but had broken up with me 2 other times in the past 3 years. The reason no contact is working well for me is because my ex accepted a job in another state . If he was still living in out hometown he wouldn’t even give me the chance not to contact him even though he was the one who initiated the break up. I'm not long distance with my GF but we basically operated as such due to having opposite work schedules and subpar living situations that made it very difficult to see each other frequently. I worked really hard for months to get myself a better job, and get myself my own place so we could have more space and have a real relationship. It took almost a year and one of the most stressful periods in my life to pull it off. Unfortunately a couple weeks after I started my new job and began planning for a place to move into she broke up with me. She said she was tired of trying and doesn't see a future with me. She's figuring out her future as well and is planning on going to college a couple hours away from me. I tried to tell her that I would do anything to make it work, 2 hours away isn't that far. I could drive there and spend the whole weekend with her every weekend and we'd be able to see each other more than we've ever been able to in our entire relationship. We've been dating for almost 2 years and the only time we've been able to spend the night together is a few days total on vacation. But all it did was make her more angry, I could tell she thought it was just an excuse even though I was being sincere. I don't know how to convince her that it could work other than just backing off for a while and seeing if she'll change her mind.

What if you were the person who broke up due to a person reason that was unrelated? Like you had a mental/emotional breakdown due to issues in your own life. If the dumper realizes they made a mistake and tried to ask for forgiveness and immediately apologizes but the person rejects them without feeling? I watch this whenever I am engulfed with sadness and loss. I started NC and he texted after 4 days. It was a very casual chat like how,s the weather etc. Then I continue NC again. I cant do or decide anything now due to the lock down and we cant meet up anytime soon. It will take another at least 4-6 months before I or he is allowed to travel. And I am still reflecting . Trying to picture our future together. We are not young couple. There'll be lots of sacrifices to make to be together. Last week a guy I liked blocked me on every messaging platform with no warning, even though we'd been friends for 5 months and voice called every day for about 4-5 hours a time. It wasn't the distance for us... rather it brought me to his home, and after 4 weeks of being in the same house for practically 24 hours, every day, for a whole month, the closeness was what broke us. That's what I believe. I'm wondering Coach Lee, what should I do? I've been back home for a week now. He texted me 2 days ago and told me his feelings have changed. I would totally go No Contact.... but he has some of my belongings at his place. So do I acknowledge the break up and kindly ask him to mail my things back (I have a good feeling he is wanting to do this)? And then after that, will the No Contact Rule still apply? I have a question and I really hope you read this because I can't find info online on my specific situation. My ex and I have been long distance. Last time we saw each other was in January 2020, so it has been 4 months and we were planning on seeing each other next month. Last week, out of nowhere he tells me that he doesn't think it's going to work and what not and I was caught by surprise. Yeah, the last month we hadn't talked as much as we used to but because I was so caught up with my uni exams and all of that. He told me literally the last day of the semester. I was so hurt, and things didn't leave off on the best note. The thing is, he works for my father and lives in my hometown and even though I primarily wanted to go back to see him next month, my dad has to go there for work and I plan on going anyway because I want to see my friends and get some of my things from there. If I do go, we will be seeing each other, inevitably, based on the situation. He is so close with my dad and is literally living at my place right now. So he knows that there I most likely going there next month and because of the relationship we've had he says he still cares about me deeply and there wasn't an issue with us but he needs to focus on getting his life on track and doesn't think he is able to handle the distance. He told me he'd still love to see me and that we could stay friends. Now, when the breakup went on I was shocked, hurt and upset, so I told him I didn't want anything to do with him so we left off at that and it was not the best ending. So, to be the better person, once I had picked myself up a bit I reached out telling him that we will inevitably see each other again and I won't act indifferent or as if he doesn't exist, so hopefully we will be able to be friends. I didn't quite mean for us to keep texting, I just wanted to leave things off on a good note with no pettiness and without him thinking that I'll kill him if he talks to me when I'm there. I hadn't texted him after that but he has texted me a few times this week, because we basically are "friends" now. We spoke about the relationship tonight and nothing seems to have changed and he didn't really want to talk much about it, so it is simply to be friends and because he still wants me in his life. My question is, how do I do the no contact in this situation? Because next time he reaches out to me, it'll be as friends as it has been, but I want this to be effective. So should I out of the blue ignore him? I feel like this would be weird because I was the one to say "no hard feelings, we can be friendly when we see each other" and what not, so he might think I'm mad at him or something. You should not have said "you're welcome " and a smiley face . Keep it as short as possible. Even shorter than that. Say "welcome" or simply just ignore his thanking, most people don't even respond to "thank you" in emails. Back to your main question - ignore the living ... out of him and focus on yourself. Be happy and search for your own happiness.

What do you do when you were in a LDR, you already had plans to get married and move together within the next few months, there was no sign of lesser contact, lesser attraction. If LDR ex has me blocked everywhere since two months, will he unblock me in the future or should I just give up at this point? Here's my story: I was with this boy in a LDR for half an year. We come from different countries, but we visited each other rather frequently. He claimed I was ideal girl for him, introduced me to his family and friends, and he wanted me to move to his country for good as soon as I am done with uni. He seemed to be head over heels about me and the things were getting pretty serious. However, last time when I visited his country, he was acting somewhat more distant. I did not think much of it back then - I thought he was stressed because of his work so I did not press the issue. Three days after I came back to my own country, we had a normal conversation that suddenly became an argument. He broke up with me, claiming we are too different. That was surprising because we had lots of same interests, shared the sense of humour and overall, we seemed to get along just fine. During next month after break-up, he would still try to contact me as much as he could. He still gave an impression that he cared - he complimented me a lot, wanted to know what I am doing, even started learning my language (which is one of the hardest in the world, btw). He even visited me in my country again and we had nice time. Then, after that visit, he stopped answering my texts all of a sudden. I was scared that something happened and I asked a couple of mutual friends about him. One of them managed to actually contact him, but besides saying to my ex that I was worried about him, he also accused my ex of using me and being a jerk to me in general (Before you wonder - I did not badmouth my ex). My ex got mad with both him and me, and before I could explain the situation, he blocked me everywhere. Other mutual friends would try to explain it to him too - my ex did not block them for that, but he requested that they never mention me in his presence again. After 2 years without any real fights and 8 months LDR she said she wasent in love with me anymore, someone there has taken her eye. Even tho she comes home in 2 weeks, I’ve been in no contact for 3 weeks. Should I reach out before she moves on or wait till she comes home for summer?

My bf if 4 yrs broke up with me from afar (in a temporarily LDR) but when his friends told him he needs to do it in person at least, he said he needs time bc he’s scared seeing me in person would make him go weak on his decision and he wants to stay strong. I did NC for a month now and doesn’t seem to be as effective given we haven’t been in person for a few months now. So I’m wondering, is it better to reach out and basically say we need to meet and me go there (8 ish hour drive) / basically tell him it needs to happen in person, just got the sake of making him see me again and face that emotional connection he seems to be avoiding and/or forgetting and pull him back into the emotional state of a proper breakup.... and THEN start NC? Just so maybe it’ll be more effective to make him miss me?? (To kind of bring the breakup to a level playing field as a non-LDR breakup, if that makes sense) ?

Hey! How’d it work out? I’m in the same situation as you. My GF of 2 years broke up with me during the pandemic as we were in LDR, she admitted that she missed me and still loved me but didn’t wana see me because it’ll give her a “high” of being together and she’ll feel a rush of things. So I am gona try to ask her if we can just get coffee as friends or something to see what we feel again
